Am I crazy? #Day 6?

We leave Sunday for 6 nights/6 days at DLH. Right now I have a 5 day PH ticket and a 1 day single park ticket tied to our reservation but I am rethinking that single day. Our flight leaves LGB Sunday at 9:30 pm. It looks like Lego Land is a 1 hour drive from DLH, is that correct? How is the traffic/drive at 7am/ 5pm? Looking at the prices, I can get tickets to Legoland and a rental car for the day for the same price I am paying for that extra one day park ticket to DLR. Am I crazy to think of driving down to Legoland and back on the day we fly out? Is traffic insane?

We have never been to Legoland but I was thinking that my boys might really like it as they are LEGO obsessed. Not sure what to do now and I really need to make a decision today. Lastly, should I expect big crowds at Legoland on a Saturday? Does it get busy with long waits like it does at DLR? Thanks!

ETA: Is one day enough to see Legoland anyway? Thinking we will skip the aquarium, just doing the theme park. Not sure how big it is? Going back to listen to Nancy's podcast on it!

Nancy is actually there today with her girls. I've been there with my nephews, and really like the park. I think that if you spend one of the days there you will enjoy it. Your kids are the right age. The park is probably a 3/4 day. It is large, and really nice.

The traffic will be busy, so add another half hour to your drive time. If you have a smart phone, you might want to download "waze" or use Google Maps to gauge how long it will take you.

During the week, I don't think the lines will be long at all. It will be busier on the weekend, of course.

Have a wonderful trip. :)

Thank you, Mary Jo. That is very helpful and it might be nice to try something new. I will check out waze! Thanks again.

The kids and I are heading to Legoland on Tuesday and doing 2 days there. I have been before with my older son once, and we did 2 days that time also. I think you will be fine with 1 day. We are only doing a short Legoland trip (will do Disney in April) so that is why an extra day for us. If you have or can get your hands on a Lego Club magazine, there is a coupon for Kids Go Free with full paid adult ticket.
