Am I crazy? Contemplating VERY short trip...

I stumbled on very CHEAP airfare from Missouri to Orlando for May 10th-13th and I see the great deal on buy 2 days get a 3rd free on tickets from Universal. We would land at 1pm-ish on Friday but I see the parks close due to Grad Nights at 6pm that night, so at best we would have a couple hours Friday night and all day Saturday & Sunday, with an early departure on Monday. I looked at a couple of crowd calendars and they say moderate crowds for that weekend.

Do you think that is enough time to see "everything" in both parks?? And when I say everything, I use that term loosely, there would be things we would intentionally skip, ie Barney, etc. We're Disney fanatics and I know how to determine the crowd levels and what we can get done, but I haven't been to US in probably 15 years and obviously there was no IoA then.

Where are you staying at? If you are staying onsite then i would say no problems. If you are staying offsite then it is still not that super busy that time of year but you will be going over a weekend so you will have crowds later in the day.

But heck I would do it We will be flying in on the 10th too but for work (sure). Have a great trip!

Haven't decided on where to stay yet, would LOVE to stay onsite, but want to keep this trip low budget so hopefully we can still do Disney in the fall again. Which also means I don't want to pay for the Express access...still think it's doable?

I think so, it is still a slow time of year so you should be good to see most of what you want.

Staying onsite is a lovely experience. fyi if you do fall in love with Universaland will be returning to WDW this fall, you might want to consider upgrading your tickets to one of the annual passes when at the park.

we've done last minute trips to both WDW/Universal over the years, even in heat of summer have had great mini trips.

We do weekend trips from Savannah and usually get to do everything, plus have enough time for repeat rides on our favorites. Just make sure you are up early and are at the gates when they open or within the first 30 minutes. Also plan for full days.
Last trip we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott down I-drive a couple of miles because I had free vouchers. We still had dinner at Mama Della's at Portofino and enjoyed some time at the Beach pool bar before dinner. If you have never seen the UO hotels, take a couple of hours to go explore them. You can easily walk to Hard Rock from the Studios, or take the boats from Citywalk to all three (no pass or room key required). I love Portofino, which is where we stay onsite whenever possible, but all three hotels are great and offer a true "resort" experience.

I hope you aren't crazy, cuz that would mean I am too! DS and I are going for a quick weekend 4/27-30. Same boat- we land a 11 on the first day but the parks close early for Grad Bash. We've been in late April/early May before and practically had the place to ourselves. I'm sure it'll be a blast, even if we don't get to everything! We are also staying offsite to keep it cheap. Hotel, car rental & park tickets all under $450- woot!

I would for sure do it- any Universal is better than no Universal. And at that time of year you probably would not need ep's so staying offsite won't matter so much, you would just be missing a great resort experience, but if it meant no WDW trip later, I would for sure save the $$ and stay off site.

I'm on Universal's email list, and I got one for 40% off their hotels (kind of a like a pin offer from Disney, so I don't know if it's ok to post it) for a minimum 3 night stay. Maybe if you sign up for their mailing list, you'll get one too?
I think it would still be expensive, but I guess it depends on how much you'd pay to stay somewhere else.

We did something like this when we went for Halloween Horror Nights. We spent Friday afternoon in the parks and then went to Citywalk that evening. The next day we spent in the parks and then did HHN that night. We were back in the parks Sunday morning and then flew back Sunday night.

It was pricey for a quick trip but we had a blast.

Do the math with regards to the Annual Passholder discount at the on sites, you may be pleasantly surprised...plus, you can get some discounts in the parks on items too!....(and that "next" trip just got a lot "cheaper" too!)...
That's how I convince myself to do the 3-4-5 day trips!
