i know i've only been married for 9 months now, but with all of the weddings that we've attended this year already, 3 of them, i can't help but think of us renewing our vows in WDW. i told rob that if we renew our vows, i want to do it in WDW again. every now and then, i think of little things for a vow renewal ceremony. if we do renew our vows, i would like to do it for our 10th anniversary. am i being silly for thinking SO far ahead about a 10 year vow renewal ceremony in WDW? i haven't mentioned this to anyone yet so i don't sound like an idiot for already planning a vow renewal. i just had so much fun planning our wedding in WDW and had so much fun that i want to do it again. if you're interested in the plans i have aleady, this is what i have in mind:

wedding ceremony at wedding pavilion
reception at yacht and beach club (in a ball room)
rehearsal dinner at california grill
dessert party in Italy this time in Epcot
hotels of choice for guests: Pop Century, Caribbean Beach Resort and Wilderness Lodge
hotel we would stay at: Grand Floridian.
if randy chapman is still in business, he would be our photographer
disney videography again, but a longer time package this time
possibly use cinderella coach to arrive at pavilion
buses for the guests (hoping for more to come this time)

this is all i have in mind so far for a vow renewal. call me crazy if you like but i just can't help myself with planning a vow renewal in WDW for our 10th anniversary. am i being silly for doing this?

I don't think it's crazy at all! Especially given the fact that we spend so much time planning our weddings, and for most of us, it's so much fun that it's totally natural to be a little sad when it's over. It almost becomes a really fun hobby, and then it's just gone. I think planning a vow renewal is a great idea. If you are able to, maybe you guys could plan a trip for the near future, and at least that would give you something to look forward to without having to wait so long. Maybe for your first anniversary? And what about a 5 year vow renewal? :earsgirl:

i thought of a 5 year renewal but then i thought 10 is more special and it'll give us more time to save up for a little more elebrate wedding.

TINKERBELA, I'D SAY GO FOR IT. I GOT MARRIED AT DISNEY IN 1998 AND LOVED IT. I GOT MARRIED THERE BECAUSE DISNEY HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN MY LIFE AS A KID. ALSO I MADE A LONG SHOT BET WITH MY NOW HUSBAND. HE WAS BUGGING ME TO GET MARRIED ,BEEN THERE ,DONE THAT X2. I TOLD HIM IF I COULD STAY ON DISNEY PROPERTY (ALWAYS HAD TO STAY OFFSITE) I WOULD MARRY HIM. WELL WE HAD TRAVEL BROCHURES AND HE SHOWED ME ABOUT THE WEDDINGS THEY HELD THERE. SO I FIGURED IF THIS TIME IT DIDN'T WORK IT WOULD ONLY BE A FANTASY. GOOD NEWS IS 3RD TIME IS A CHARM. SO SEE NOTHING IS STUPID AT DISNEY WORLD. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Tinkerbela you are not being silly at all - most women I know who have had a Disney wedding cannot wait to plan a Vow Renewal - some have had them at 5 years some less and some more. I'm a 10 year gal myself, OMG just another 9 to go ;)

I will be planning on the exact same date (fingers crossed it doesn't fall on a weekend LOL, those minimums ;)) I have some sort of plan in my head but so much can change in 9 years with FTW I'm keeping all my options open. We don't plan on having kids so the money perhaps that would have been saved for school and college funds I'm saving for an even bigger VR.

So Tinkerbela I say carry on with those plans - now if I told any of my friends over here in the UK my plans some of them would think I was completely off-my- head - VR's aren't very common place here in the UK - I've heard of a couple of people do it here at say 20 or 25 years but not at 10 - LOL I figure I can start a new craze ;)

Well, if you’re crazy, then I’m crazy too! Count us in as another couple hoping for a 10-year vow renewal. We had such a wonderful time at our FTW that I think it would be so special to do it all again (with the same husband of course, LOL!). Plus, we really like the idea of being able to do it without all the stress that goes along with a wedding. We could only invite the people that we really want to be there, and we could spend all day with each other before the actual ceremony. Of course it’s impossible to say where we’ll be financially in another 8.5 years, but here’s to hoping! :wizard:

i know we can have an extravagent 10 year vow renewal because i have a year and a half left of school and teachers are in such high demand i know i won't have any trouble finding a job. this will give me so much time to put aside enough money to have the wedding i described in my first post of this thread. also, when i graduate, i plan on looking for teaching jobs in florida. that way, i'll be closer to disney and we can go to the planning sessions. living and working in florida won't interfere with the job as much as it would if we still live in jersey.

Next year DH and I will celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary (it will mark the 11th year we have been together). We had a huge, beautiful wedding here in Jersey with all of our family and friends -- but I have always had a thing for Disney and think it would be awsome to do our vow renewal there. DH doesn't quite "get it" about the VR period, but he hasn't said no. So I'll keep my fingers crossed and see how our financials add up and maybe I'll convince him to actually do it!

I don't think you are crazy or silly either. I already told my DH that I'd like to have one there....WHILE we were still there on our honeymoon. :rotfl2: I was shocked when actually agreed that I could!!! :earseek: He was impressed with how Disney handled everything. He thought it would be corny or cheesy, but he said he liked how 'classy' it was. :teeth:
