Following on from the Insurance post..i don't know whether i am being too much of a worrier , but do you think insurance is enough....i have had a few horror stories told of late where people who had insurance weren't seen straight away at hospitals as they didn't have a credit card to pay up front?is this true???i never use a credit card but have put £600 emergency cash on a pre paid credit card but i am now wondering if that is enough??? will hospitals want payment first then you claim back any medical bills or is your insurance certificate enough...mine is quite comprehensive but i will be checking re pre existing conditions...any help would be appreciated

Most insurance companies ask you to pay if its a small amount then you claim it back, there might be a figure given in your policy, mine just says minor amount pay direct and claim back larger amounts contact them to pay the hospital direct.
I am opposite way to you, probably too laid back, rarely worry about anything.:goodvibes

I don't worry too much about it last year someone in our party needed to go to the hospital they wanted them to pay they told them the did not have the money and did not have a credit card so the hospital just went through the insurance company only had to pay $75 :)

Dh required medical treatment to his back during out 2008 visit.

We never had to pay a penny we just rang our insurance, whom then rang the Medical Centre and that was the last I heard.

Our travel insurance is through our Bank, HSBC which we have always received first class service from :)
