Am I being Self-centered

Here's the deal. My MIL offered sometime back to pay for everyone to go to Disney World. One of my two BIL and his wife said they couldn't go, so no one was going. The FTP came out and DH and I decided to go and celebrate DS2-3 birthday there. We invite MIL and my mom and DH youngest brother to go. Younger brother said No if middle brother and wife couldn't go, he didnt want to either. Fine, I have three rooms MIL, my mom, and DH and I.

I guess BIL and Wife got wind that we were going and now thier room is completely paid for and youngest BIL is completely paid for, but we paid our own way. They not only got room and tickets, but they got airfare, and all their spending money! I get that I specifically decided to go on my own..but don't you think they could have done something to include us in the freebees?

It's not over..MIL offered to put me on their room and move their trip to 4 days later..they dont want to take all that time off work and since they have to pay for the full time, why not let me stay on. This was very thoughtful and I felt much better about the whole trip. Then youngest BIL (the one who didn't even want to go to begin with) gets mad because he wants to stay for the whole 7 days.

Now I am really agitated becuase I had already switched it and now I am calling Disney for the 15th time to change things again. Am I wrong to feel annoyed?

I understand why you are frustrated. My only suggestion is to plan YOUR trip how YOU want it. Then, when all is said and done, you have the vacation you wanted and can enjoy it!

I think for the most part I will just hang out with my mom and aunt. I can't deal with people like this. This will be the first time that BIL and wife will have seen MIL in 5 years..and it was only because they have a free trip to Disney! I have a soon to be 3 year old and 1 year old and they have never made the effort to call or come see my kids at all.

I think you are right. I am going to plan my vacation and people are free or not free to join us. I am, however, extremely excited to see my mom at Disney. She has never been. I also, sort of, worked it out. I am going to put youngest BIL in the same room with BIL and wife.

As one with frequent in-law issues, (they hate to plan or committ to anything in advance) I can say that having the dignity and independence to make your own plans unapologetically and to your own tastes is priceless. Include family graciously and warmly when you can do it conveniently and consider your peace of mind more valuable than a free hotel room. Most freebies are far from free.
