Does anyone else that typically frequents the Universal boards, venture to the Disney boards every once in awhile, and feel the urge to come rushing back to the Universal boards???

Maybe it's because I'm a die hard Universal person or maybe the Disney people just scare me a little bit. But I feel much better here. ;)

I think its cause here you have people that still like disney and Universal too.
Its not like some parts of the board and don't want to be mean but some disney people think universal is stealing something from them and if they would only see that Universal and disney can both exsist and yes people can like both then they will be ok.

I agree Lawrence...very well put! :thumbsup2

I third that!

Actually, I rarely go to the 'Disney' side...I stay here :goodvibes

...well, except for the cruise boards cuz of our trip this summer...i will lurk there

I think we need to remind people WWMD ( what would mickey do ):lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I frequent both Disney and US/IOA boards everyday. I may not always post but I do read them. I love both places and have APs to both.

I'm all over this board - the other day I saw a thread on the main page and I just saunter in to give my 2 cents when I realized I was on the Gay & Lesbian board :p

I love Theme Parks period. There is no "ultimate" park for me.

Universal has just as much as Disney has to offer

With that said, I think it's why I spend a ridiculous amount of money every year to have Annual Passes to Disney, Universal, Sea World AND Busch Gardens.

My wallet HATES theme parks, but the little girl in me doesn't care ;)

Me too! Who knows where I want to eat 180 days in advance? Who needs touring plans, complete with clipboards, stop watches, and whistles? Who needs to plan DD's princess outfits, coordinated by park based upon Tour Guide Mike's recommended schedule? Who needs to be on the phone at 6:59:59 am ET to make reservations for something 30 days in advance? Universal doesn't need an IPO (Disney's Itinerary Planning Office for Concierge guests). I love that about that Universal. Who needs PIN codes only addressed to your cat to get a good rate at the Disney resorts and 80 million posts begging people to PM them the code, followed by reminders that PINs are person-specific. Who has a frequent guest program at their hotels that reward loyalty and guests with valuable perks? Disney? Oh, no, that's right ... Universal.

I could go on, but I just find Universal more laid back, more easy going, a better value, and less regimented and frigid. I like Disney fine, but Universal suits us better. :thumbsup2

me:rotfl: :lmao:

however, it is jolly good fun:banana: to just have to pay for a few nights @ loews, show up & put it on autopilot:thumbsup2 for a few days @ the end of our WDW trips.

i've come to realize that my sojurns to Disney are a thinly veiled mental challenge, my version of suduko - see how cheap I can get over on the mouse:idea: keeps me out of trouble - sorta.

least we forget;) ...Walt took a big chance & dreamed big...started the whole non-carney type of amusement park; Universal ran with it and put their own stamp of coolness on it.

putting on tin-foil hat (don't get me started on Disney's bioscans/huge govt data base-do i have a clone?/imagineers=para military/ pssst - stitch is an alien ) back to our regularly scheduled drivel - hee-hee:upsidedow see! disney peeps aren't scary at all
note to self - sign up the cats & dogs for possible WDW pincodes:idea:

But if you think the Disney boards are scary - try the Community Board. I have ventured over there a couple of times, only to be admonished and run back to the Universal boards with my tail tucked firmly in place :goodvibes

I got on a Busch Gardens board asking when Gay Days were because I didn't want to subject my family to it if I could avoid it. I was torn to shreds! I don't roam from this board now.

:rotfl:

I try to be as general with whatever I say - I'm not here to read someone's diatribe butthurt posts over my comments.

The main message boards I post on would make the MAJORITY of posters on the "other" side of this board literally CRY themselves to sleep.

I like the DIS for universal I find it helpful , informative and friendly, I use a UK board for Disney as it has the same feel to it, I believe Walt would have been impressed with what he started and appreciate others who have followed

I absolutely LOVE both theme parks (and their resorts!). I don't understand why some Disney fans feel they need to villianize (is that a word?!) the Universal Parks. They are different experiences, and I get that "away from it all" feeling at both of them. I am so glad they both exist...variety is the spice of life!:goodvibes
