Am I allowed to be nosey and ask how many points you have?

You guys are making me jealous. We bought 160 in Sept. , but I am trying to get DH to add on 25-50 at BLT. Its too close to Christmas to think about it but boy you guys have me thinking. I am getting addonitis!!!!!!!!!

Okay.. I might sound like a total idiot here... I feel dumb asking.. but...

Why do you buy points at different places? Like, what is the point of having ... 100-200 at one resort and then 50-100 at another (or any other amount.. I just used them as an example)

Thanks for all your help and input!
We have them for the 11 month booking advantage. I've settled us into a schedule of AKV for spring break time, BWV for Food and Wine in October and VWL for early December.

I have 440 points. I used to have 550. I sold 170 Vero points because we never went there and the member fees were very high. I also sold 50 HH points. I bought 30 point at BLT and 80 more at OKW.

One wonderful thing about DVC is that buying and selling are pretty easy and contracts have good resale value. :thumbsup2

Currently ONLY HAVE a lowly 250 pts at SSR...master contract broken into (1) 200 pt contract & (1) 50 pointer... WISH like mad that we could add on either 55 pts at AKV or 70 pts at BLT before the increases in January but...not likely to happen unless I get a bucket full of pixie dust under my Christmas tree!!:rolleyes1

Hi,

We just bought 250 at BLT, :cheer2: but it is just the beginning....... :rotfl: hope so...... but must wait to make our first vacation as members to see what happens... :confused3

I would like to see new DVC resorts in the MK area (so I could make an add on instantly, LOL), who knows?, maybe we could see a GFV or Poly Villas.............. Wow..... how easy is to dream!!! :cloud9:

I remember someone has said there was not space to build those DVC resorts (GF and Poly), but using Google Earth I have found there is space, at least the same that had used to build BLT.

So I will wait or maybe look for a small add-on at BWV!!!

I have 175 @ SSR. I would like to get more but can't decide which resort??? For me any place in WDW is a great place to be.I always here people talking about home resort advantage. I have been lucky and usually get to stay where I want most times, probably because I don't go during the most popular times. but when I don't get my request I'm still happy to just be going. Some people Never:sad2: :sad2: :sad2: get to WDW,that just boggles my mind. I am finally getting my 60 year old sister to go next year for the first time.I am so happy because I no she will have a ball.

Boy did I get off subject.Anyway hope to get another 100 pts soon at either;BCV,AKV,BLT,WLV,OR BWV'OKW for the lower pt rooms.:lovestruc See I told you I can't decide. I love them all.

We have 1,000 spread across five resorts.

Wow! I think it's great not only to have that many, but to have the time to use all those points.
We have a total of 310, 210 at OKW and 100 at BCV. The # of points we have now is realistically all we can use, vacation-time-wise, until DH retires. However, part of me REALLY wants to add about 75 points at HHI. Santa, are you listening?

There are a bunch of us that won't mind telling you, but these types of threads end up with some small point holders feeling sad:sad2: .

I have 650(400 SSR, 250 VB) plus 2 regular weekly timeshares(ski time in Vail/Beaver Creek and summer in Northern MI).
Yep, I'm a sad one. (174 BWV, 50 VB. Soon to be 40 at BLT.) Until I here about some of your monthly dues.....then I'm real happy!!!

We have 260 pts at AKV- we bought 160 on the Disney cruise, and added on 100 more a couple months after our first visit. :goodvibes We love it and would love more- but not right now.

How about that.....looks like I'm the winner here with the lowest points! LOL
We have 150 at BWV. Originally we were positive we'd buy more points but over the years we've come to discover that with banking and borrowing the 150 is just the right amount for our needs!
It's been great to discover that we are ok with the 150......and even better when I think of the itty bitty $60/mo dues we pay. :p

Sorry DisMN - I beat you with only 100 SSR points!

DH was not keen on DVC at all (he even refused to do the tour) so I just bought a few resale points with a legacy left to me. However after 25 years of marriage I knew that if I got him in the door, he would love it! This has proved to be true and whilst we were on our first SSR trip 2 months ago, HE was the one who wanted to look round the BCV model on the Boardwalk and HE was the one who wanted to look round the BLT and AKL models at SSR.

I didn't have to say anything but when he saw the size of the 1 bedroom villas (we stayed in a studio) and I said we didn't have enough points (we are British so need to stay more than just a few nights), I knew more points was a done deal! However with the exchange rate, it's probably not possible at the moment but soon I hope to buy at BLT!

430 points. 320 at SSR and 110 at AKV. I would love to have at least 100 at HHI, but not sure that will ever happen. We do have another TS that is a week EOY. It is a 3BR so we can divide that into two units and use it every year if we want. Until we retire, we have just about the right amount of points for our vacation time.

With the weather in the midwest right now, I wish I had enough to spend the winter in Florida.

Currently 440 at Boardwalk, original purchase. Haven't added any on, but am considering it when I get a look at the Treehouses and get a little more info on price and availability.

We only have 90 points at OKW............but, we do have a beach house on Grand Lagoon in PCB, Fl. for the other 51 weeks of the year:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We own 210 at AKV. When we bought I did not know that you could still buy at other resorts. We love AKV for the luxury, the savannah, and that it is brand new, but we took a tour of BCV and it melted our hearts. Plus, Epcot is our favorite park and BCV is so close. We plan to buy 200-250 points at BCV within the next 1-2years.

After that, we would only buy if they built a GF DVC. That would be perfect! I would be on the phone the second sales opened! We would also buy a DVC somewhere in the Carribean or Europe.
