???? am I a snob????

I am definately a hotel snob and DH is even worse than I am.

its ok to be a hotel snob..i am not a hotel snob..i am just a snob in the fact that i have to go to disney....the more the better..so far we only have one trip for this year planned...that makes me happy..now two trips would make me happier...i am very pleased with staying at pop century....

Welcome. You have become one of us.

We started out with the mods. Then we moved up to the deluxes. Then stayed at ASSp and refer that 2 day stay as "the accident". Then we bought in at DVC.

Be very very careful. You are on a dangerous road. :earboy2:

We used to stay offsite, then I stayed twice at All-Star Movies and liked it very much. THEN I stayed at the Dolphin and Swan...and LOVED that! I have had 3 reservations at either the All-Stars or Pop Century - and I keep cancelling them to go back to the Swan or Dolphin!

I am a resort snob, I guess. But only because I am fortunate enough at this point in my life to be able to be one. If the only way I could go to WDW & stay onsite were to stay at a value, then I most definately would. I have stayed at one before & while it wasn't my favorite resort experience, I would do it again if need be.

I am a snob in the fact that I absolutely must stay on property.

I have also become a WDW resort snob. We started out at All-Stars when DD was a baby. We really enjoyed it. Then we moved up to CBR when there were 2 kids and we liked that too. Then last trip we moved to the Poly with 3 kids. OMG...NO going back!! The convenience of taking little ones on the monorail to MK (which they think is a ride!!) is worth every last penny.

Now we ALMOST stayed concierge last time with the Fairytale package 7/4. DH was very afraid to start that trend. We almost booked concierge for this April but again we were scared we wouldn't be able to go back. I suppose it's a smart move. :guilty:

I don't think you have to stay at the deluxe resort to be a snob. I for one sometimes think am a snob. I go to Disney a lot and being able to stay on disney makes me feel like one. There is nothing wrong with that.. I don't think..ok maybe just a little.

BTW, I have stayed at WL, my first deluxe resort..I think I have fallen in love with this resort, it doesn't mean I will stay away from value or moderate. Whichever one fits my budget is where I will stay. :)

I felt that way about the WL after our first visit, then we stayed at the AKL and I fell in love with it. But then we tried the YC and WOW, loved that one too. Then onto the BWV...... you get the drift....;)

You know what????

After a recent one night stay at a Courtyard Marriott, I would even consider myself a snob to stay at a Disney value. Disney has a certain level of service and amentities (not necessarily room amentities) that surpass the average 3 -star hotel experience....

Oh no, I was afraid of this. I was just talking to my boys last night about our trip this past August and the one we're planning for '07. Next time we'd like to stay longer, maybe 10 days or more but that may mean staying at, dare I say it? Value or moderate. Please don't get the wrong impression, there's nothing wrong with staying at either. But we got so spoiled at the BC. We're not wealthy by any means, and I had to really budget for our vacation. Being our first trip, I wanted to go all out and we did. Now the boys want to return to the BC. Decisions, decisions....

For a 10 day visit I would prefer to resort hop, so it works out perfectly to try a moderate or value for part of the trip and then move to BC. Easier to justify the longer trip, a nice restaurant, etc when part of the nights are at a cheaper resort. At least that's how my mind works. My son and I were lucky enough to have a 2 week vacation to WDW. It started out as a 1 week trip, staying with my mother at an off-site timeshare. Since I wasn't paying anything towards a hotel I added 4 nights at the beginning at POR and then ended up tacking on 2 nights at Pop Century. My husband wondered how many nights I would end up stretching the trip. But I did eventually come home. Afterall, I had to wash clothes, repack, and plan my next trip! :)

I confess -- even our kids are GF snobs! But we're going to try YC for four nights before our ten nights at GF so maybe we'll change our mind - but I doubt it. To us there's just something magical about GF.

We won't stay anywhere else but the Poly. You couldn't pay me to stay at the WL again and the other deluxes don't interest us either. We started out at the CBR and went up from there. Even my now 5 y/o would not want to stay anywhere but the Poly. It is such a huge difference between mods and deluxes. I couldn't imagine the differences in a value and wouldn't want to find out.

After reading this thread I have figured out that I am a SNOB with RAD! I have been on the same journey as many others who have posted. Just starting out as a young family the Values made sense financially and since we were newbies we spent nearly all of our time at the parks. After a few Values we "moved up" to Moderates before joining DVC and becoming even bigger snobs.I guess if you're going to be a snob, this is the kind to be!

Thanks to Disney closing CBR in 2002 and being upgraded to AKL we became snobs through no fault of our own. This last trip after staying a VWL, DH fell in love with DVC and we bought at SSR. Next trip is GF with mom, MIL and sister. I'm spoiled and I love it.

Once we went deluxe we haven't turned back, we have been spoiled! I love staying on the monorail loop!

its your money and your vacation if you want to spend it at the AKL -- then by all means do it!

One questions, can I stay with you? I don't take up much space

Please :jumping4: Please :jumping4: Please :jumping4:

I dream of staying at the AKL - what a beautiful resort :cloud9:

Hey lindaso we have that problem in our family with the concierge,

My very first trip to WDW my wife and I stayed in the honeymoon suite at the GF in the main lodge. Being able to walk to the concierge level and get food throughout the day was great. The staff even greeted us by name every morning. What a wonderful trip!!!
The following year we stayed in the then Dixie Landings resort. Even though it was a great resort it wasn't the same and the expierence spoiled us forever.

Now we belong to the DVC and I could never go to WDW without staying in a room that doesn't have a full kitchen and a washer/dryer.

So does that make me a Disney snob.......oooooooh well!!
