Am Exp Discount problems for DVC

I was just at OKW this week and used my Am Exp card for check in and did not get anything, in fact I have never been offered that gift because I used points for OKW. They told me that if I buy more than $50 at DD Marketplace that I would get a 15% discount. When I handed them the card they told me that I have to pay for at least one nights stay at DVC with Am Exp to get the discount, a 15% discount will not pay for 1 night at OKW. We are getting the shaft on more and more benifits as members of DVC. I am now calling Am Exp and cancelling my card and will only use MC at the parks.

This is Amex's call, not DVC. Let me know how you make out with Amex. If this is indeed the policy I'll be in touch with Amex as well. I bet most DVC members use their Amex for restaurants, purchases etc. at WDW at least equal to a night at All-Star.

I have receievd the amex discount at Downtown. I was told that as long as that was the card on file for charging privelages, which it was, that it would work. And it did.

I know I get the discount like when I rent watercraft with my AM EX card.
