Hello all! I posted awhile back that we were new here and waiting to hear when our daughter Alys trip to Disney World will be. Much to my surprise, we got a call last week and we are going in JANUARY already!!
A little about our family.... My husband and I have been married for seven years. I have one stepson who is 16 and my husband and I have have a daughter, Aly, who is three years old. When we were 30 weeks pregnant we learned that our daughter would be born with a severe congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS, "half a heart"). We knew before she was born that it was going to be an uphill battle- with a minimum of three open heart surgeries within 3 years of life- the first and the biggest would be within the first week of life. Aly has had 4 open heart surgeries to date but is doing very well. She is in preschool and started a ballet class this fall.
We look forward to reading everyone else's stories and experiences with GKTW and getting to know you all!
we will be in Florida January 18-26 (we are going two days early and spending some time at the beach 
)

I am so glad sweet Aly gets her wish! I am a heart mom also. I'm glad you get to extend your trip! A couple days at the beach sounds wonderful! I can't wait to hear more about your family and Aly's wish.
