Always second guessing - Movies vs. Pop

Currently have preferred room at Movies for 1 night in June. Arriving Mco at 9:30 pm and just getting in a day early so that I can move to my package resort the next morning early and head to water park for check in day perk.

I have stayed at Sports and Music but my favorite value is Pop. I am second guessing my decision to stay at Movies or should I move to Pop. The room layouts are the same and I would just basically sleeping in the room but I keep questioning myself if I should move to Pop.

I will have 2 kids with me (7,5) but not sure how much the section Fantasia or Dalmatians will impress them - they would know Toy Story though. If I move to Pop, I will just get a standard view room.

Should I just stay with Movies or go to Pop?

You may be overthinking it for the one night. I'd probably stick with Movies. With a prefeerred room, you should be closer to the lobby, making it easier to move to your other resort. Movies is fine, and much like Pop. If you don't need the Skyliner access, there's really no point ad far as I'm concerned.

I would save the money and stay at Movies. It's small enough you don't really need preferred especially for just one night. The Skyliner is handy but it comes with a hefty premium and quite honestly the only bus that tends to have a long line at the values at rope drop is Magic Kingdom.

Just stay at movies and honestly if it's just 1 night; just stay standard.

There's really not much reason to do Pop over movies for one night if you aren't using the skyliner in the morning to go to a park. It's also a new resort to you, so maybe once there you will find it does appeal to you

Another vote for Movies.

Plus, you didn't say which water park you plan on, but if you are going to Blizzard Beach, All Stars is the only resort that has a direct bus to that water park. (And only to Blizzard Beach.) From every other resort to get to BB, you have to transfer at Animal Kingdom. (If going to Typhoon Lagoon, it's a wash as you have to transfer at Disney Springs from every resort and no resort has an advantage there.)

We tacked on an extra first night at All Stars last Spring Break. Took our luggage to bell service at All Stars the next morning, had them hold it for our water park time, took the direct bus to Blizzard Beach and back, then grabbed our luggage from All Star bell service and transferred to Poly that afternoon.

Might not matter for you if you are going to Typhoon Lagoon or plan to rideshare, but avoiding that bus transfer is a nice perk!

Regardless, I say Movies like everyone else. You are getting very little benefit out of Pop this time around.

Did you do online check in for the Poly? You didnt have to physically check in at the pkg resort before going to waterpark? I was thinking that I would have physically chrck in or something before heading to the waterpark

I did do online check in (it’s my preference to always do it as soon as I book), but I’m not certain you even have to do that. If you have a resort reservation the water park benefit shows up in the app.

You don’t have to check in. The water park ticket just shows up in your account and is active on check-in day.

And as an aside, you can go to BOTH Blizzard and Typhoon on check in day if you want to.

We did in July and it was awesome!

FREE times 2!

Add me to the chorus of stay wherever it’s cheapest since it’s only one night.

As you said, the rooms are virtually identical. You have time to introduce the kids to the themes at Movies if you think they won’t know who they are. The themes at Pop might be as obscure or more so, depending on where your room is. Even if you get the Mighty Ducks, will that be any more relevant to them than bowling?

I love Pop, and just recently changed a reservation from Movies to Pop. But we are going to be there several days and focusing our attention on Epcot and DHS so the Skyliner was a big determining factor in making the move. If it had been a one night stay, you probably would have found us at AS Sports, since it was the cheapest.
