Always Let Your (Preschooler) Be Your Guide. My First Trip Report! COMPLETE

I am glad you sold the house. You are going to be busy for a while. The hassle will be worth it once you've settled into your new home.

Maddie's skirt is adorable. How lucky is she to have such a crafty Mom! I like your Day Four plans. Going to DtD is a must for us. Xander said it was his favorite park, lol. On the trip before that, he claimed it was HS.

I am glad you finally got a hold of your MIL.

Congrats on the house! I will keep my fingers crossed that everything goes smooth!

Love the photos! You got some great practice in:thumbsup2

That skirt is adorable! You must really know your way around a sewing machine!

I'm already thinking of which outfits Kadence can wear on certain days!:lmao: I've been hanging around esty, I want a special outfit for MVMCP.

 YAY!!! On you selling the house, but :scared1: at your super uber busy schedule for the next couple of months!!!

I am so happy that the house sold....what a huge relief that must have been!

Maddie looks so grown up and I love the tutu look! She is such a little lady...I love girly girls.....Jasmine was such a tomboy when she was little, it wasn't until grade 10 that she realized how to be girl:lmao:

Congratulations on the house being under contract! That's awesome!

I love the Cinderella blue skirt. Maddie looks great in it. It's so cute that's she's planning a hypothetical Disney trip.

Yay, congrats on selling the house!

Wow, she looks so grown up now and her hair is so long! We just chopped off DD's hair last night but seeing that pic makes me wish I hadn't. But she also wears her headbands right on her forehead, so it's not the same effect.

Awesome job on the cinderella tutu! I love that outfit! Makes me want to make one, but I don't really have any crafty genes in me.

Thank you!! We're so relieved.

She had certainly learned so much this year, but you don't notice how they physically mature when you see them everyday, you know? Maddie refuses to cut any more than the split ends off. All of her little friends have gotten theirs cut in the last year, but she won't. :confused3 :lmao: on you DD wearing the headbands on her forehead. So cute!

Thanks! Maddie loves that tutu skirt so much. Maybe I should mass produce and sell them. With a major discount to my TR readers of course ;)

Yay! Maddie looks so grown up! I love the tutu look...you think I could get away with it?

If you make DHS on day 4, maybe we'll see each other! Haha! Congrats on selling the house! I didn't know Maddie took dance?! That's awesome
GAH! Color changing crocs?!?! TOO COOL.

Thank you! I bet you could totally pull off the tutu look, especially at Disney!

So funny that our touring plans are so similar! Not sure if we'll do DHS or Epcot.

Maddie takes a tap/ballet class. It's an hour long class and for the first 30 minutes they do ballet. Then they change shoes and for the last 30 minutes they do tap. It was the perfect beginning class for her! The teacher is really awesome too, she doesn't dumb down the terms for the girls even though they're only 4 and 5. Maddie knows tons of ballet and tap terms that I've never even heard of! :lmao:

Those color-changing Crocs are her new favorite shoes. She's worn them almost every day!

I am glad you sold the house. You are going to be busy for a while. The hassle will be worth it once you've settled into your new home.

Thank you so much, I'm trying to focus on the end result of this madness! We're going to be buying a much nicer house, so I am excited for that. We're going to look at some next Sunday!

Thanks on the skirt! I only taught myself to sew 2 years ago, so I still feel a little insecure about my skills, but Maddie usually loves the stuff I make her, so that's all that matters. My 16 year old cousin just asked me to make her a prom dress for next year though, so that will be a major challenge!

I LOVE DTD! It's such fun to shop there! :lmao: that it was Xander's favorite park! Did he got lots of toys?

My MiL has been super busy, but still hasn't responded about the trip! Oh, well, it'll all work out.

Congrats on the house! I will keep my fingers crossed that everything goes smooth!

Thank you! If you sew, it was super easy to make, didn't even use a pattern.

I still need to crack the books on the photography, but taking pics with the new camera is a lot more fun!

We're so relieved that the house is "sold". I don't know how people do it when their house is on the market for months on end!

I'll bet you'll find some really great stuff on Etsy. But, if you don't let me know what you're looking for. I may be able to whip something up for you. :goodvibes

 YAY!!! On you selling the house, but :scared1: at your super uber busy schedule for the next couple of months!!!

Thanks! The schedule is daunting for sure, but suites my uber-Type A personality perfectly in a weird way :lmao:

Thank you! We are sooo relieved.

Thank you! She is growing up so much. It's amazing how quickly they change. She is girly from her fingertips to her toes. I was a total tomboy, so at first I didn't know what to do with her, but now I wouldn't have it any other way! I told a friend recently that I wouldn't know what to do with a little boy, I'm so used to pink, glitter, princesses and crafts !

Jasmine is such a beautiful young lady now though, she's made up for lost time.

Thank you, thank you! We're so happy about it.

She's been planning the imaginary trip for months. This week she decided that dining at CRT and getting mom and dad in a photo with Buzz are must dos. She wants us to say "to infinity and beyond" instead of "cheese" for that one :lmao: she's crazy.

congrats on the house! love the cinderella outfit!

Thanks on both fronts! Maddie loves that skirt...

I LOVE DTD! It's such fun to shop there! :lmao: that it was Xander's favorite park! Did he got lots of toys?

Yay. I cannot wait until we get out of this small house.

Yes. I think we went a little over on his $275 shopping budget. He loves shopping or "buying stuff." His favorite park was DtD. He enjoyed the cruise more than WDW. The best thing he did on the trip was Chef Mickey's. One may say that he is trying to tell me something, lol.

I'll bet you'll find some really great stuff on Etsy. But, if you don't let me know what you're looking for. I may be able to whip something up for you. :goodvibes

I may just take you up on that! I've been trying to find a pink skirt to match her I Heart Perry shirt I got her online at the Disney store, but no luck matching the color.

On esty, I'm looking mainly for a Christmas shirt/outfit for MVMCP. I'm likeing what I seeing so far!

Wow! This is the first Trip Report that I've read and it was SO helpful - thanks very very much! We are planning our trip to Disney in November with me, my mom, DH, DD(4) and DD(almost 2) and cannot wait. I've already been boring DH with obsessing about character dining, BBB, etc. - I haven't been to WDW since I was 16 and cannot wait to see it through my girls eyes :goodvibes:

And yay to find another quilting mom too :)

Hello! Oh my goodness, I promise you, I meant to join in here MONTHS ago, but for some reason I never did! I'm glad I found your TR again because I love it! I'm all caught up! Maddie is precious! :cutie:

Hahah also, I can't help but feel like a copy cat because I noticed that you start your chapter titles with "The One..." ala FRIENDS (the greatest show ever) as well! Hahha I feel like a copycat now, but I swear, I didn't know! Funny enough, this is the second time this has happened to me recently.

I call the following paragraph "Random observations." Hahahah. Okay, first, in your pictures of the Sorcerer Mickey topiary at DHS, the angle makes the topiary look HUGE! That's really cool!
Also, I'm so glad that Maddie got to meet Ariel and Eric. I mean, I'm not kidding, if I had met Prince Eric at her age and gotten to hug him I would have probably died and gone to heaven. I was basically in love with him (and I probably still am). AND lastly, this is the most random of all, but I can't help but notice that you remind me of Winnie from the Wonder Years a little bit. :confused3

Okay, so I'm really glad I got all caught up because I really enjoyed reading the TR! Hooray for your next trip, too! It's so soon! :yay:

Just found your trip report and got caught up! Love your report!! Your next trip sounds exciting too! (ok, the banana is there courtesy of my DS (age 3) who calls the DIS the "dancing banana" place!

This post made me smile. My son loves the emoticons too. He is fond of the happy faces.

:lmao: He sounds like a boy after my own heart. I do love to shop. :rotfl: I bet that WDW itself will grow on him once he's big enough for all the thrill rides.

Let me know, I'd be happy to help. The sewing machine will likely be stowed away until July or so, but I'd still have plenty of time to whip something up.

I love Etsy. Every time I'm on the sight it makes me want to find a way to sell my little creations for a living. Such a wonderful tool that internet..

:welcome:

So glad that you joined in! Love your screen name!

I'm really glad that the TR was helpful to you! If you have any questions please let me know. Hopefully I'll have my next TR done before your trip, and I'll have the most up-to-date princess info that I can!

Sounds like an amazing trip!!! I'd be really excited too! I found the DIS because I have a husband a lot like yours. He stopped listening, so I had to find another outlet for my Disney excitement! He'll thank you later when the trip goes so smoothly. :thumbsup2

For me, seeing Disney through my DD's eyes -especially for her first visit- was almost indescribable. I don't think I stopped smiling for 5 days. It really is magical. :wizard:

Hooray for another Quilting mom to you!!! I love doing it, I find it so relaxing. And, they make great gifts! I'm going to work on one for my little brother next.

:welcome: So glad that you joined in! I've been lurking away on your TR since you started it! :rotfl: I'll have to speak up over there from now on.

Thanks for the nice words about the TR and Maddie!

I think that there are several TRs with various Friends references--you're certainly not a copy cat! It seems like most Disney people are also Friends people. We all have great taste!

Love the random thoughts. I certainly didn't use any particular skill in photographing that topiary, but thanks for the compliment!

Maddie was on Cloud 9 about meeting Ariel and Eric. Ever since that trip, Ariel has been the clear favorite amongst princesses in our house. I doubt that we'll miss that meet and greet this time.

I've never gotten Winnie Cooper before-though I would take that as a compliment. I remember most boys my age were in love with her when that show was on! :lmao: The only celeb I've ever been told I look like is Christina Ricci. That isn't too bad, but often they follow that up with "you know, the one that played Wednesday Adams"

So glad that you're following along! I can't wait for the next trip, and look forward to doing another TR. You meet such lovely people doing them!:grouphug:

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! I really appreciate the kind words. I am really looking forward to the next trip-it should be lots of fun.

Love the dancing banana! How cute! My DD always says "are you looking at the dot com with all the Disney pictures again? Can I see?" :lmao:

Hi everyone! I'm very pleased to announce that the garage sale is OVER! It was a lot of work (I'm sure that most of you knew that already, but I'd never done one before) but it was pretty lucrative! Several people asked how many little girls I have because we had so much in the way of girls' clothes. :lmao: I swear that I didn't buy half of it!!

Literally as we were depositing our new found riches in the bank today, our realtor called with the results of the home inspections. Radon-clear, Termites-no maam, FHA inspection- not as good. Seems that we'll be spending the lion's share of that garage sale income on an electrician. Our's is an older house, and not everything is up to current code. Plus, everything that DH and DBro have installed since we moved in needs to be wrapped in conduit. Oh well, easy come easy go right?

DH and I are going to look at houses for the first time tomorrow! I would be more excited if DH didn't already have a house that he's fallen in love with. It's a gorgeous home from the outside and the backyard sounds heavenly, however many, many walls are an odd shade of pink, there's carpet in the master bath, and the kitchen is pretty outdated. Since we're planning on moving again in the next 7-9 years that sounds like a lot of upgrading to be done to me. Most of the other homes are much closer to being completely updated. Hopefully DH will see the light when we get into the homes.

The other night at bedtime DD and I read a Disney Princess book about Chistmas Wishes coming true (don't ask me why she's reading Christmas books at Easter, she never reads holiday books in the appropriate season). At the end it suggested that we make our own Wish because you never know when it'll come true. Of course I inquired what DD's wish would be. "That we find a big beautiful new house for our family to live in" :lovestruc what a sweet, sweet girl. And then -imagine this being said in a rushed little girl way "thatwecangobacktoDisneysomedayandthatI'llgettogotoBibbityBobbityBoutiqueandthattherewillbeanAuroradresswithshortsleevessoIwon'tgettoohot" :lmao::lmao::lmao: I simply cannot wait to tell her that we're going!!

Anyone want to hear about our Day 5 plans?? I sure hope so!

It's DHS Day!

I think that its the perfect day for Maddie to wear her I heart Perry T-shirt, and since we'll be princess free at DHS, it shouldn't be too hard to convince her. :rotfl: Who knows though, after all of the careful stockpiling of the perfect outfits I've done, she may wear nothing but princess dresses for 7 days.

We have a breakfast ADR at Hollywood and Vine at 8:00 am.

Jake -the neverland pirate- is like a rock star to DD so she'll be very excited to discover that he's going to be joining us for breakfast! The park opens at 9 that day and we tend to be quick eaters-even at character meals so I really hope that we'll be able to get ahead of the stampede to TSMM.

We'll send DH ahead with the tickets to get FP and then ride standby. If at all possible, we'll ride standby twice.

On the list of things to accomplish at DHS are ToT (hopefully all 3 of us), RnRC for DH and I, BatB, VoLM, Disney Junior Live!, Muppetvision, Phineus and Ferb M&G, backlot tour (because we haven't done it in years), Star Tours, assorted character meets 'cause DD can't live with out it, and if time allows American Idol.

I know that it's a ton to accomplish, but we're hopeful!

Lunch ADR is for 50s Prime time at 1:10. Chicken Pot Pie is one of my loves foodwise, and I think that the interaction will be tons of fun.

Our dinner ADR is at Cape May at 5:40. DH wanted to go back, and since we all really enjoyed it, I obliged.

I don't think that we'll have time for a mid-day break, but by Day 5 we might choose one over some of our "must see" attractions.

DH would like for us to try to see Fantasmic on this night as well, but by that point his patience for waiting in line might be gone, so we'll see how that goes. :lmao:

We are only 21 days away from the trip now, and I am beyond excited. I still haven't made the time to learn how to use my camera (note to self, I could read the manual or my for Dummies book during our drive time tomorrow) While it's so much fun to log into the Disney sight to see the __ Days Until You're Here! banner, to us it also means __ Days minus one until we have to be moved out of the house.

We'll be seeing MiL tomorrow so hopefully I'll find out if she plans to join us or not.

Thanks for sticking with me guys! I really do appreciate all of the kindness and friendship that you've all shown me. What a wonderful place the DisBoards are! :grouphug: Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I finally made my way over!

Maddie is such a cutie patootie!

I have to go back & do some reading now!

I hope Bryan changes his mind about the house. The pink walls sound unpleasant. The house I grew up in had carpet in the master bathroom when we bought it. My Dad ended up replacing it years after we moved in because it started to smell like mildew. There was black mold under it when they pulled it out! Carpet in bathrooms is no bueno.

We need to have a yard sale or donate stuff here too. I've never done it either, but our house is overran with stuff. That stinks you have to spend most of your earnings, but at least it was extra money. I love Maddie's wishes. Little does she know that they will both come true in a short period of time.

Day five looks awesome and ambitious. Good luck. We skipped the ToT, because Xander did not want to do it. Hopefully, Maddie is up to try it. This is one of the best trip reports I've ever read, so I should be thanking you! Thank you!!!

Pink walls really do sound unpleasant! :lmao: We had carpet in the bathroom when i was growing up too, and it got really, really gross. I use the phrase "no bueno" to describe things ALL THE TIME. Too funny!

I still managed to spend a little of the yard sale money anyway. Retail therapy always cheers me up, and I had a Yankee Candle coupon burning a hole in my pocketbook, and since there was a hole (:rotfl:) in my purse, I had to get a new one of those too!

Try a garage sale! It was a lot of work, but the extra cash is fun!

Our DHS day is way too ambitious I know, but I think that AI can easily be cut out. Maddie likes the Voice better now anyway :lmao: I hope that we can get her back on ToT, but I'm not holding my breath. I don't want to talk to her too much about things being pretend at Disney because I'm afraid that she'll put 2 and 2 together and realize that the characters aren't real. I really want to hold onto that magic more than I want to ride ToT  I bet Xander will want to ride all that stuff soon enough. There's still so much fun to be had without riding all the "big" rides.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate you being here friend!

I finally found my way over here!!!!

I cannot believe that you will be in WDW in 3 weeks!!!!!:scared1: :cheer2:

Hmm, am I a tiny bit jealous???? Why, yes, yes, I am!!!!
