Just returned from DLPR at the weekend and felt quite brave to go on the Indiana Jones ride there, although I did find it quite rough and jerky. I don't mind Rock n Roller Coaster (in WDW or Paris) as it is a lot smoother, but it's true to say I'm a chicken when it comes to most roller coasters.

In August we're off to Florida again and this time I'd like to try one or two of the bigger rides (such as Hulk, Duelling Dragons, Expedition Everest - definitley and maybe one or two at Busch Gardens and possibly, if I get really brave Kraken). I usually sit by the sidelines whilst DH and DD ride.

We're going to Alton Towers next weekend (first time in years) to 'practice' and I wondered which are the 'tamer' rides there - difficult to tell from the website. Wasn't really frightened on Indiana Jones in Paris - just didn't like it cos it jerked my head about and battered my ears.

Alton Towers is somewhere we visit every year

Oblivon haven't seen anything like it at Disney. In brief it's a big drop over hole!!! but def worth riding.

Air - tips you over so you are lying/riding on yoour front a great sensation & not too scary.

Nemisis most like duelling dragons & a great ride.

Haven't been on Rita but my DD rode it & she said it did bang her head around. But she is 15 & on the small slim side & that might have made a differnce.

My last ride on Indiana Jones was when it was still backwards & I came off feeling so ill I've not ridden it since. Never been that ill at Alton Towers.

I have been to Alton Towers and Thorpe Park to practise for WDW.

Rita is great, you don't go upside down so a good one to try first.

The corkscrew is awful if your small as your head gets thrown about so much I came off it with a head ache.

Oblivion although seems scary isn't too bad, just the bit where they dangle you over isn't too nice.

Nemisis was the first ride I went on that took me upside down. I didn't love it but I didn't hate it. I prefer Nemisis at Thorpe Park.

Air - Yuck - I did not like this at all as it made me feel sick.

I plan to go to Drayton Manor next.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies - hoping that with the good weather this weekend, lots of people might choose this weekend over next and crowds might not be too bad - wishful thinking perhaps.

Rita - is this faster than Rock n Roller Coaster?

Air - I have trouble with motion sickness but mostly with motion simulators - Star Tours, Body Wars etc and also on the teacups - hope I'll be OK on this one.
