Hi

I am going to Orlando between 14th August and 25th August. We really need a resort like Vistana as we need a retreat away from the parks due to my daughter's sensory issues. I want to be close to the parks, big apartment, nice pools, space to cook and get deliveries. Also, I don't want to use a car for various other reasons. I am getting a bit worried about Vistana's internet - without a stable internet connection we are going to struggle.

What are the best alternatives?

Thanks

Bonnet Creek would always be our first pick for location and feeling like we are in the bubble.

We have stayed at Marriott World Center in their vacation club units ... Imperial Palms we stayed and are returning next week. Sabal Palms we have stayed and returning in October. They also have Royal Palms. VERY close to Disney and next to Vistana.

We had no internet issues at any of them, and there are usually at least 3 or more of us on at the same time.

I was at the Vistana earlier this year in FEbruary. Stayed there for a week. had ZERO issues with the internet. my kids were streaming music, video, no issues.

Stayed at Royal Palms last summer in a two bedroom. We liked it. It was clean and much quieter than Vistana- and super close to the parks.

I’ve stayed at the Vistana several times. I don’t remember having any internet or cellular service issues.

If you generally like the Vistana why not try it. If there are issues see if you can be moved to a different location.

This issue with the WiFi at VIstana Resort cropped up earlier this year. There are several threads here about the problem. If someone needs WiFi during their stay right now, Vistana Resort is not the place to book.

I'll add another vote for the Marriott World Center Palms resorts. We have stayed at Royal Palms and really enjoyed it. The proximity to WDW, and DS in particular, was excellent!.

Are the Marriott World Center Palms resorts good for kids? Also, do they have weekly activities like the Vistana and other alternatives?

The activities at the Palms resorts are going to be pretty limited. I think perhaps just morning exercise, yoga, water aerobics. Nothing much for kids. Certainly nothing on the level you will find at the bigger resorts.

I was there last week. I was in Imperial Palms which is with Royal Palms. Small pool and larger pool where the clubhouse etc is located. Last month I was Sabal Palms (back in Oct) and they are not near the other two and have their own pool and clubhouse.

My 3rd stay but we are park centric so don't do the activities.

Note: On both the Activities and Hotel Offerings page it states that Water Park is for hotel guests only.

HopperFan, RIVER falls is limited to the hotel guests only, correct? But the OUTDOOR COMPLEX and SLIDE TOWER mentioned in the first photo - are those available to timeshare guests without an additional fee?

Correct. Only the waterpark is unavailable to timeshare guests. The slide tower and rest of the complex is available. Timeshare guests can book the River Falls waterpark for $20 per person per day though.

Yes that is what was told to us and how I read it. We can use all the Palms pools and the World Center main pool area, which is nice. They do have some tall slides there at Slide Tower, splash play area, cabanas you can rent. The Water Park is set apart behind a wing of the hotel so it does not appear with the rest of the water complex.

Also we often saw the shuttle buses running from the Palms, we didn't notice them before.
