Alternative to Chef Mickey

My pre-teen daughter says that she is too old for a Character Breakfast. Should I cry now? Anyway, she really enjoys the breakfast at Chef Mickey but does not want Mickey to come to the table. What's wrong with her, I don't know. Can anyone suggest a restaurant that has a breakfast that compares to Chef Mickey, but with out the characters?

I haven't eaten at Trail's End (Fort Wilderness) but have heard it is good and a good value as well! I am dreading the day that my dd doesn't want character breakfasts. I'll cry with you!

Captains Grill at Yacht Club. It is a buffet breakfast and they even suprise you with Mickey Waffles some time or I think yu can ask for them if they don't. I do not know of any others where it is a buffet but no characters.

That is sad about your DD. Is she they type of girl that will say that but if you book it anyway she will have a blast. My DH and I always went to characters breakfasts even before my DD was born. We always had a great time

Boma brkfst is very good & does not have characters, but hopefully your daughter will come around. You could also book Chef Mickey's and just not interact with the characters - or tell your server to have them avoid your table, if necessary, but I bet your daughter would change her tune once she got there.

I know my nephew (then 8) agreed with much eye rolling that he would go along to Play&Dine for his cousin (my daughter), but once Jojo and Goliath got there he jumped up for pics! You just never know. I agree if you love Chef Mickey's and she is adamant about no characters, you can tell your server and also the "character handler" and they won't come to your table.

i have been dealing with the same pre-teen and mine comes with teen attitude Decided she does not want to do character pics or autographs(even the rare to complete her book from precious trips ) no kiddie rides(Alladin, Dumbo, Caoursel?? )and wants nothing to do with princess including CRT> I love these I actually thought about cancelling and waiting few years but then she would be a full fledge teen

i would probably not go to CM if that is the case, unless others in your party are into it

I went through that phase when I was younger. My parents took me to the character meals anyway and told me since I didn't want a picture with Mickey, I could take their picture with him instead. We were both happy with that solution

I say go anyway and do something similar...the less she wants to interact with the characters, the more time they have to interact with you

The breakfast at 1900 Park Fare is great and they don't have the traditional characters, (Mickey, Pluto, etc.) They have Alice, the Mad Hatter, and let me tell you, I don't care how old you are, you will laugh your butt off at the Mad Hatter. We watched him go table to table and they must train them very well, because he could be sweet for the lil ones, and really pump it up for teens and adults. The food is Lil' more sophisticated than Chef Mickey's so that could be the selling point for your teen. The lobster Eggs Benedict is wonderful!!
