Alternative to Bippity boppity Boutique

OMG I'm so getting a crown for our MK day. Since I'm the only female in our family I've always said I was the princess! princess:

I have already decided I was doing this. I am going to do my own hair and wear a tiara.

I don't plan on dressing up...b/c I read another thread that anyone older than 12 would be asked to change if wasnt a party day. So I plan on wearing jeans and tee but have cute hair. :)

I love the the boys haircut. My son has been wanting to cut his much too long hair. I think I will hav ehim wait until our trip in a few weeks. I just love the spikes, and I think he'll enjoy them too. What a great idea. Thanks for sharing.

I wish I had heard about this sooner. We've already been to BBB several times and this seems like a much better deal!

Go for it! I've worn a tiara on several trips and it's a blast! The CMs really get into calling you "princess" and "your highness" and stuff. My mom and my aunt even love to wear them. We got some really high quality tiaras on sale at Hobby Lobby for $10 each and wore them on our November trip. Women of all ages stopped us to ask us where in the world we had gotten them, and we even had a few joking offers of, "Would you be willing to hand that over right now for say...$50?" :lmao:

Now I'm contemplating getting myself "pixie-dusted" at the barber shop one day during our March trip for my 21st birthday celebration! You're as young as you feel, I say! pixiedust:

My DD got the color and confetti on our last trip at the Barber Shop. It was wonderful. I am thinking about doing it myself this time. We did it at rope drop and sent DH to get fast passes. By the time we left, there were 6 families waiting. It's kinda on the honor system, first come first served. The staff does not keep track. I can imagine it getting pretty nasty.

Just a thought, We have a girls boutique here called Libby Lu's, My DD8 and I a couple of years ago had a Mommie and Me Princess Makeover! We both had Do's, sparkles and tiara's! I cant remember, but I think it was @ $65. Anyway, she still asks to do it again! (she was 6 at the time). Even my DS6 will say, Mama, remember when you and sister were princesses?
I cant afford BBB, but watch out barbershop, We NEED some glitter in our Do!:thumbsup2 princess: :grouphug:

I have one when I was homecomming queen way back in college I should so wear it when I am there. :thumbsup2 I am the only queen in my house. There is a websight this woman mom of 3 boys writes and she is so funny. I read an article by her about how she wears a crown around the house sometimes to remind the boys that she is a lady. LOL :rotfl2:

Definately get "pixied" at the Barbershop!!! It is so much fun - I got it done for my birthday last year!!! Colored hair gel, mickey glitter and castle/carriage glitters too!!! Everyone asked me all day where I had gotten my hair done!! They were so nice there too!!!!! Have FUN!!!:thumbsup2

that I just booked today. If I can do a walk in with the boys, at that price, and maybe even toss in a haircut (which they both need) that seems like a much better deal. The cool dude is only $7.50 but I'd really rather not be tied to a reservation and bet they'd be more comfortable at the main street barber anyway!

Hmmmn,

We went to the Barber Shop on December 23rd. My DS8 had his hair cut (and she did a WONDERFUL job) and colored and sparkled, etc. It was $14. (w/o tip) That's the same thing I pay here for his haircuts at the local place.

I think this is a wonderful idea! What a money saver too!
We usually do our own little BBB in our resort room with treats I brought from home. But this looks like fun!
One question though... I have a neat and tidy little DD6...
Did the gel flake off, or rub off on stroller backs, clothing etc.? And also, how difficult was it to wash out? A fight in the resort shower does not sound fun.
I just don't want to get this done and then have my DD in tears because it got messy later! She's so sensitive.
Thanks,
Sarah

I am so glad to see that other moms feel the way that I do about the expense of BBB. I thought it was $35 or $40... and when I went online to get info to book for our 6yo daughter, I found it to be $54.99! This is hair ONLY. To have the nails done, it is an extra $5. I made a deal with my princess that if she got all big As on her daily calendar, I would book BBB visit. Ugh. The child has been SUPER good and I will NOT break my promise. However, I did give her the option... I said she could buy souvenirs with the money OR have the BBB appt. I told her that I could do a BBB style on her and she would still have LOTS of her vacation budget to spend on things to take home. Today she said she will skip BBB. Yesterday she wanted BBB by all means. She cannot make up her mind. I am going to buy the materials (hair piece/sprays) and do a "practice" run next weekend. I bet she will feel better when she sees the "do" and I am able to bring her online to show her the pics. I am thinking that the Barbershop offering might be an alternative if she doesn't like her "Mommy-do". Thank you all so much for sharing! I was feeling guilty for thinking that the BBB was overpriced.

Curious about the hair gel- does it dry in the hair? Stain, smear,...?

My twisted sister and I had this done on New Years Eve.

The stuff never really dried. We kept it in for 2 days and left a trail of pixie dust everywhere we went. Just be carefull not to lean back against anything right after you have it done.

I had my hair in a braid and they painted the hidden mickey on there. My ds had her hair in a pony tail, and they just painted stripes on hers and put tons of glitter and confetti in our hair.

They also have an option, where they just use hair spray and the glitter. I might try that next time I go.

Oh and washing it out of our hair, that took a few rounds of shampoo!

Thanks for all the tips/suggestions! I am having a DIY BBB in our room for DD this year. All the glitz and glam, little of the expense!
