Although the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique sounds interesting, it is not for us. We are going to go with being pixie-dusted.

I plan on getting some clear nail polish with glitter, some glitter hair gel, and face glitter. In the mornings, we will do a very light dusting of glitter in hair and cheeks. (Nails we will do the night before.)

I thought I'd pass this on to moms who didn't want to do the full BBB treatments, but wanted to do something special for their girls. :flower3:

Just wanted to let you know you can get "glittered" at the barbershop at the MK. They do color gel and mickey glitter for about $5.

I have wondered about this. We did BBB on our last trip, but I don't know that we will do it on our upcoming trip. Do you need to make a reservation for the barbershop?

It is first come first served. It is suggested to get there first thing in the morning as a line can develop.

I snuck over to DTD and bought BBB crowns, nail polish and a pack of face gems for my girls. I brought hairspray and bobbie pins from home. They had never been to BBB, so they had no idea how all those little girls got the princess do's ... they were thrilled when I whipped out the supplies. I saved the crowns so we can do it again.

My daughter was too young for BBB when we went last summer. I put her hair up and dressed her. Luckily, she was young enough not to know any better. What was funny is she hates having her hair done but she sat so patiently while I put her her up.

Save money where and when you can. Heavens knows you'll find places where you need the money later.

Good luck.

I did DD2 hair last year when she was only 2.5 years and dd1 got to go to the BBB they added the glitter for us there. also got her the crown like older DDs. This year we are taking them both to BBB though.

wow thats a good idea! ive already promised the bbb to my girls, so i dont think theres any turning back:sad2: but thats a great idea for saving money! defintly passing that on to some friends.

i am not here to bash bbb..but as a hairdresser myself...$45 bucks is crazy when later that day or night my 2 girls will be swimming. i have one twin that is so girly that this is just her thing and the other hates for me to even brush her hair. i will bring my own glitter and such from home and save a 100 bucks. maybe when they are older and can really save the money will be do this.

We have reservations for BBB only because my mother promised my girls that she would pay for it - If she doesn't come through I may cancel & do what you guys suggested - love the ideas! I will do these for the otehr days anyway!

See, I think this is one thing that is halfway reasonable (did I say that out loud? :lmao: ). Those "do's" would cost an adult $60 + up here, let alone polish and make-up, even if it is "kid."

My DD (then 2 1/2) loved the Main Street Barbershop! She picked out pink and purple hair gel and was totally "dusted"! She even waited in a fairly long line (the longest wait of the entire trip) to get it done and didn't complain once because she knew that soon it would be her turn and she was watching everyone else get their hair done too. The "barber" put her hair up in a high ponytail and sprayed it to death. It lasted all day long and we even had a princess dinner that evening.

Everyone wanted to know if we went to BBB, but I told them that it only cost me $20 (with the haircut and nice tip) at the Barber shop. They were shocked and I was very pleased to have picked up that tip on these boards ;)

Next time she won't hair her hair cut there, but we will definatley get gelled and dusted. Mommy might join her too, who knows?....

For my DD, it was one of the highlights of her trip.

Be careful with the gel they put in the hair though, my DD has very light blonde hair and she did have a pink and purple scalp for a while, but it was worth it. Oh, and don't let Daddy try to wash her hair out :scared: ...that's one mistake I won't be making again. Mommies with long hair are much better at getting out hairspray and glitter... ::yes::

You can definitely do a BBB "do" without spending the cash. We did BBB this last trip and the hairstyle was awesome. They actually spent a ton of time on it. But, you can do it on your own easy!

We did the BBB for our first WDW vacation...worth every penny for us, but I was able to do "the do" for the next week in the room.

When we go back we will probably not do BBB (not because it wasn't worth it but because we have done it once..it was everything the DDs had hoped for but we can do it ourselves w/things I bring along. I brought things w/me that we used while at WDW. We had shopped at Claire's beforehand..was able to get some really pretty tiaras for not to much (and they are so real looking the girls loved them) nailpolish and face gems can be bought there as well. I even picked up an adorable headband (red and white polka dot) with the ties in the back...DD5 wore it w/her red/white polka sundress to Chef Mickeys....we had more comments on her outfit there...it made her feel so special..(I paid $3 for the headband and $15 for the dress ! Penneys. )

Many ways to save money...

I hit Ebay and got a beautiful blue fancy dress for $9 and a "real" tiara comb for $9! I'll do her updo myself! Not sure about the glitter yet though, we'll have to see!
