Alternative Music to Small World?

Or Ozzy's Crazy Train, whatever works at that time

I'm curious if anyone has ever put together a playlist that would actually sync relatively well with the different areas of the ride?
This is an inspired idea. As the designated riding companion for my 3 yr old, I rode It's a Small World at least twice each day we visit MK - which was like 4-5 days on our trip. 10 times round the World is a lot in one week.
Why not take art and make it your own? After all, the music, the design of the models, and the experience of IaSW as a whole is a work of art.
Musicians often respond to other musicians in their compositions, and music is a dialogue over generations. So have some fun!
So, something Beatles like "Yellow Submarine" for the opening through the UK - or The Pogues playing trad pub songs like "Wild Rover" or "Whiskey in the Jar"? Some Santana through Mexico and Central America? Why not try "Girl from Ipanema" for the rain forest section of the cruise? Pharrell Williams "Because I'm happy" to go through the finale room... which, on second thought, could stick in your head even longer than IaSW.

A 12 minute loop of Flight of the Valkyries would lend a whole new perspective I think
I considered Valkyries! Admittedly, I'm afraid I would find myself inadvertently talking about the extramusical associations of Wagner's antisemitism, especially in light of the accusations, true or not, against WD. For the good of the party, I ultimately crossed that off the list. :)

Some great ideas! I love the Beatles at UK (I hadn't considered), but I'll pass on the Pharell Williams :-).

I wrote to WDW today once asking about alternate tracks for rides and Len Testa suggested the wreck of the edmund fitzgerald for small world. My brother who works a boat captain for a boat tour company jokes that it's against maritime regulations to play that song on a boat though (may just be Canadian ones). :rotfl2:

I can't get on the ride, the music haunts me. My daughter, five at the time, and I were stuck in the ride for an hour and 33 minutes. They kept the music going............ Finally we got to a point where the boat was next to land and everyone bailed out. If they were going to toss us out they would have had to toss a bunch.... Does anyone know why we were tortured so... can't they turn it off if it gets stuck.

Thumper, my husband feels your pain! He got stuck in the last room of Small World (the "white room") for about 45 minutes as a kid. It astounds me that he's a) not still in therapy, and b) willing to go on the ride again with our kids. We always sing the "It's a Tiny Tiny World" song from Family Guy under our breaths. (But I still love the damn thing.)

Many years ago when I was about 15 my sister and I ran into an off duty CM at RC. We were talking and he said one night he got assigned to do the overnight cleaning of SW and he said they kept the music on all night. :scared1:
