My picky 3 year old will find little to eat at 'Ohana. I read on AllEars that there are alternative options by request. Does anyone know what they might be?

TIA

My kids were offered several things, but they chose to have the PB&J uncrustable with fries

Grilled cheese is also an option, and I believe hot dogs are as well.

but do you have to pre-order them or are they available at the restaurant as a choice- my son is 9 and such and annoyingly picky eater! thanks

I don't believe you have to preorder them. Just tell your waiter/tress when you talk to them.

I recall reading somewhere that someone also gave them Mac & Cheese there at Ohana. But don't hold me to it! :thumbsup2

The first time we went to Ohana, they just came out and asked what the kids wanted from the kids menu - I think my kids all got hamburgers & fries. There may have been grilled cheese & hot dogs offered too, can't remember.

On our 2nd time at Ohana - we had to ask for something different for the kids - but it wasn't a big deal. We picked mac & cheese.

Both times -they brought vanilla ice cream with sprinkles for dessert for the kids.

So - no big deal for kids items. If they don't offer, just ask. Don't need to order ahead of time.

My kids got hot dogs with fries about a week ago...and our waitress brought a large "side" of macaroni and cheese for them as well. They were happy!:thumbsup2

I just asked if they had a kids menu when we sat down. Our waitress just rattled off a few choices for us...it took a few minutes for their food to appear, but it wasn't horrible.

I'm assuming this only applies to kids who are 3-9 yrs old, right? If it's a 2 yr old, they still just eat what the adults eat - correct? Or we pay extra for another kids meal? Most likely my 2 and 3 yr old would just share the 3 yr old's meal but often times they don't want the same thing. haha

Are the NOODLES there fairly kid-friendly or do they have tons of veggies mixed in? DD2 loved lo mein type noodles (or any noodle actually) so anyone know if they would bring some out WITHOUT veggies mixed in??

Yes, the hot dogs were for our kids in the 3-9 range. We could have ordered a separate meal for our DD2, but she usually shares with her older brother. Plus, the huge plate of mac and cheese could have fed our entire family alone! The noodles are your typical lo mein type noodles. We were able to easily pick out the veggies and "green things" (aka scallions) with minimal effort. I'm not sure they could separate the veggies from the noodles, I get the impression that most of that stuff if pre-packaged and pre-mixed...but it doesn't ever hurt to ask! Enjoy your dinner - it was our favorite meal of our most recent trip!:goodvibes

My 10 year old DS tried the foods they brought to our table and didn't like them. Our server brought him out a huge bowl of mac and cheese. DS5 ordered a hot dog from the kids menu and she brought him two! They were very accomodating and made sure that everyone had something they liked for dinner.:thumbsup2

This is all wonderful news! I wasn't the OP but want to thank everyone for sharing your experiences there but I've been a bit nervous about the kids not having enough to keep them happy. The noodles MAY be the only thing they'd eat. So nice to know they are happy to accomodate! :cool1:

Does anyone know if an adult could get a grilled cheese there. We will have one member of our party who will not eat anything there (we will pay for him), but I would really like for him to eat something while the rest of us are eating, and grilled cheese or pizza is something he could have.

Anyone know?

Thanks

I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem.
