We are headed to 'Ohana for the first time this trip, and while I have heard amazing things about the bread pudding and can't wait to try it myself, I know my kids aren't going to enjoy it. Will they have any other choice? Even vanilla ice cream would be preferable to them. Thanks!

The bread pudding comes with a HUGE portion of ice cream with Mickey Sprinkles, and the caramel sauce is separate so if they want a topping it can be added. :goodvibes

You used to be able to ask for fresh pineapple as well. We got that last time, since none of us like bread pudding. When we first started going, pineapple was dessert. Yum!

They brought my 2 sons ice cream sundaes about 2 weeks ago when they wouldn't eat the bread pudding. :goodvibes

Quite frankly, to me bread pudding sounds disgusting. Never tried, it never had any inclination to try it. Mainly because of the name. When we went to 'Ohana for the first time I figured it was the only thing they brought out so I might as well give it a try. Man it was goooood! No pudding or "bread" in it. More like a sweat roll with ice cream and caramel. Cannot wait to go back and get some more. I only wished I had gone to 'Ohana when they still made the potatoes everybody raved about.

When I used to eat eggs, etc. I would have bread pudding because my extended family loves it. But in IMHO, man, is that stuff plain and gross!

I do not like coconut or bananas, the Ohana's desert did not appeal to me. The server told the chef, who came out and asked what was my favorite ice cream. After looking for pistachio ice cream for about 20 minutes, the chef brought out a lots of vanilla ice cream scoops on a skewer covered with a ton of caramel. He really tried to find pistachio, but ended up bringing out my second favorite, caramel. It was such a nice gesture, and we were impressed that the chef would even bother with something so trivial.

My kids get big bowls of vanilla ice cream every time we go there. Last time we were there, my daughter asked if she could have some extra Mickey sprinkles on the side. (She wanted to take a few home.) Our server brought her a HUGE bowlful of sprinkles!!

Our 3YO daughter is allergic to bananas (I know, a tad odd).
As is always the case at Disney dining the Ohana staff was fantastic in working with us on her allergy. Obviously the dessert wasn't a possibility. The chef came out to talk to us about alternatives. It was incredibly sweet when he got down at my daughters level and asked her what kind of sweet foods she likes. She said to the chef, "I Wooove Ice Cweam." The chef asked her if she liked sprinkles. She was a little confused (I guess we'd never given her ice cream with sprinkles). We assured he she'd love them.

When he brought out vanilla ice cream with multi-colored Mickey-shaped sprinkles, her face lit up. She continued to eat every single sprinkle before she ate her ice cream. Now, whenever we go anywhere for Ice Cream, she asks for sprinkles.

Long story to say, I'm pretty sure you can do something different.

That said, the bread pudding and ice cream is my favorite Disney treat!

No pudding or "bread" in it.

Actually, it is made with day old bread cut up, and they pour eggs and milk over it, let it soak and bake it. The eggs and milk form the "custard" part. The word pudding is the generic term for dessert in Britain.

Aww, I love Ohana's bread pudding! ...So much in fact, that when we were there I asked our "cousin" for seconds! He looked at me like I was crazy!:lmao: But he did bring me a second helping, which was really nice.

Don't like bread, never have liked bread pudding, everything about the stuff disgusts me. The taste, texture, smell, nasty stuff. Ohauna breading pudding is a piece of Heaven. This is the stuff dreams are made of, I can't wait to go back just for this stuff!!!!!!!!!! I bet if your kids tried it they would like it, if not most servers will bend over backwards to help you out.
