Alternate dessert at HDDR?

While my husband and I are VERY much looking forward to the strawberry shortcake at HDDR, our DD (who will be 4) is allergic. (Tragic, I know. Even more so because she discovered she LOVES strawberries before we discovered she is allergic to them. )

Does anyone know if there's an alternate dessert? I know Disney is generally quite good at acommodating allergies, etc., so I'm confident that this won't be a huge problem.

Make sure you have that allergy noted on your ADR. They will verify the allergy when you check in and a chef will come to your table to talk to you about an alternative dessert My DD has a gluten allergy and the chefs have always been so very accommodating!! You will enjoy the HDDR and we thought the food was really good!

HDDR is just as limitted in their allergy desserts as they are in regular desserts. There aren't a lot of options. My kids can eat the strawberries but not the cake or whipped cream so last time we ate there they were offered soy ice cream with strawberries. The time before that they were offered the same allergy brownies that they were getting everywhere else. If your sDD can eat the cake and whipped cream then she'll probably be offered her own dish without any strawberries.

i feel for your little one. i know all about the strawberry allergy as i've suffered my entire life from it--it's terrible to love something that makes you sick. luckily i only get hives--and the amount of hives is based upon how much i consume. ((can you tell i love them??)) sometimes i push the limits, but know that benedryl and hydrocortizone is in my future.

is she allergic to tomatoes too?? i have the same reaction to them, and they told me the allergy is related--just an fyi in case.

with little ones you can't take that chance they should be able to accomodate you for sure. they're very good with my tree nut allergy witch unfortunatley is not as easy as my skin hives.
