Altering Flight Dates

There is a possibility that I will be made redundant around the time of our September WDW trip and so we thought we might stay on in Orlando fro another 3 or 4 days instead of rushing back.

Has anyone made these kinds of alterations on their flights? We are booked with VA to fly out on 17th Sept, returning 27th Sept, but may extend to 30th or 1st Oct.

I am guessing there would be a fee, but worth it for a few more days chilling in the sunshine!

It will also depend on the class of ticket you have weather changes are allowed.

Obi - It is Economy both ways.

Do you work for VA?

No :)

I would give them a ring (Flying Club) and see.
Within classes, i.e. Economy, PE and Upper Class there are ticket classes ( i.e for economy B, L, M, N, O, Q R,T, V, X, Y) and some can be altered with or without a change fee and some of the cheaper ones normally cannot.
They can look at your ticket, see how much to alter if at all and whether there is availability on the new dates you want.

No he means what fare code you have booked - there are a number of different fare codes within each class of travel and each code has it's own "Terms and Conditions" (i.e. how flexible the ticket is and what changes, if any, are allowed).

How did you book your flights? Are they direct with Virgin? Do you have an e-ticket? If you have an e-ticket, then look at it and it should say if your ticket is changeable and, if so, at what the change fee is. Often, if you can change, you will need to pay the fare difference (i.e. flights on the day you want to come back may well be more expensive than the flights you have already bought) AND the change fee.

Once you have checked your e-ticket (to see whether you ticket is changeable), then phone Virgin for a quote regarding the actual cost.

Thanks Obi, I will look into it. I do need the nod here first though of course. No point in making changes if I have to come back to work !

I was sure you worked for VA, you seem extremely well informed...LOL
