Hey guys! Now that I see how many people are into this altering paint cans...just wondering if anyone has any ideas or tips on altering clipboards!!
I want an idea that does not have 50 million steps, please. :teeth:

I made one for my sons teacher for Christmas and it was super easy! I painted it and then used mod podge to out my paper on and then embellished it. I had one with the long clip accross the top so I tied ribbons accross that. I was in such a hurry to get it done I forgot to take pictures or I would post it.

thanks for the reply! A few questions, if you don't mind!
WHY did you paint it? Does that help the paper stick better? Did you paint the front and back and maybe only do paper on the front?
What types of embellishments did you do? Stickers?
Thanks again for any input!

Painting can help because the paper doesn't wrap around the sides, and it's a pain to try and get the paper to completely cover around the clip. If you paint around all the edges and about an inch in on the front and back, you won't see the clipboard color around the edges of your paper.

Embellishments can be anything, depending on what you want the clipboard for. If you want it for decoration, use anything and everything!! If you want it to be functional though, stick with flat embellishments with maybe a piece of ribbon run near the bottom.

As a note, Oriental Trading Company sells 12x12 clipboards and 4x4 clipboards. The 12x12 ones are only $5.00. Way sheeper than anywhere else I've seen.

Make use to put the glue on BOTH sides of the paper -- otherwise, I've found the paper tends to want to "bubble" and it's not easily smooth'd out. I put it on the back, place the paper where you want it, then go over it again.

Good luck!
Brenda
