And we too LOVE LOVE LOVE it here. We are not doing the parks this time out. The first day we grocery shopped, played miniature golf, and sat and talked with Innocent (his name) from Uganda by the fire pit. Yesterday we took a day trip to Vero Beach and got a day pass. We loved the beach and had lunch at the Green Cabin. WARNING TO ALL THOUGH. We used our GPS to go there, and it took us to an exit that only accepted sun pass not cash and the next exit was 54 miles down and it is an automatic 100.00 fine! Photo enforced. My daughter's friend asked as we were coming back at the toll booth and they gave us a card to mail back with .75 to pay that toll. I hope it works. Then we came back, rested, enjoyed the wildlife and then we did go to MNSSHP - our only park visit. I love MNSSHP and recommend it to all. They do a lot for the money. We went on 5 major rides in 3 hours. Two parades, special fire works, seeing people in costumes, and getting candy. Today we are going to the pool and hot tub and the couple that are with us - my husband's sister and her friend, are going golfing. My daughter who is staying at SSR is going to hop a bus and go to the pool with us, while her husband and his friend go to Disneyquest for the day. This is turning out to be such a fantastic vacation for 7. I am so going to hate leaving.

Thanks for the TR... can't wait to hear more. I am always interested in what people do when they do not go to the parks!!

Hi rigsby25,
Thanks for the live report. Glad to hear you are having such a nice time. Be glad you are here with our current weather as opposed to last week when the heat index was 103!

I also find it interesting to hear what others do when they do not make the parks the majority of their trip. There really is plenty of other things to do though. Have a great rest of your trip and I am looking forward to more reports. :thumbsup2

We love Kidani, too!!! We were there a month ago, and ended up getting colds on the plane. My husband basically has no immune system, so that really effected him. Soooo....we ended up at parks 3 days....for only a few hours each day. We were staying 5 nights at Kidani. What did we do? Enjoy the slow pace! We watched the animals, relaxed, enjoyed the resort, enjoyed eating :rolleyes1 and one day, DH was feeling so  that I took myself on a resort tour. That was something he wouldn't have wanted to do anyway. I also looked at the AKV studio, since the 2 of us felt like we were drowning in a 1 BR (807 sq ft worth of drowning  ), and I stopped at BLT to look at the models.

Would we take a slower-paced vacation again? You bet! BUT...I may have to think flying some more. :sad2: He and I WERE going to drive, but about a month before the trip he was getting dizzy spells, so driving became a non-choice.

I miss Kidani already! Enjoy your slow-paced non-park trip! Kidani really is a resort with MUCH to do and things to enjoy without stepping foot inside a park.
