We're also 1st time cruisers on April 15 - can't wait!! Have been planning this since we returned from our last WDW trip Nov '02. We're doing the land-sea package - staying at the Beach Club first.
Does anyone know what time the DCL bus leaves WDW on the day of the cruise - I booked breakfast res. at the Cape May for that AM, but now think I should book them for an earlier time.
Thanks so much!!

It's great to find someone else going on 4/15. We're gonna have a great time. We are going to WDW first also Leaving TN on 4/10 (Yippee). Staying at Port Orleans.

I don't know about DCL pick up times, we didn't buy a package deal and we didn't book disney transfers. But according to some posts I have read you will probably have time for an early breakfast.

Have fun on board. Maybe we'll cross paths.

We're leaving RI on the 9th - kids are out of school that day, so we thought we'd get an early start. After the snow/sleet storm we are having tonight, I just can't wait to get in the sun!!! (Kids are hoping for no school tomorrow - me too - I work in a school based health center!)
I expect the ship will probably be booked to capacity - it's school vacation week here, and I think in other areas, also.
Have you booked your shore excursions yet? We did - after reading all the postings on this board, it sounded a little crazy trying to do it on board.
We are so-o-o excited.

I think it will be booked to capacity but we will have a great time!:bounce: :Pinkbounc. It is school vacation for only some of the schools in Middle TN that week (some are on vacation this week).

We are not dealing with snow and ice but I still can't wait to get to some sunshine:smooth: . BTW. It has been in the 70's and low 80s over the last few weeks in the Bahamas (Atlantis Resort).

We have booked our excursions. We are doing the Atlantis tour in Nassau, glass bottom boat at Castaway Cay and the get away package at Castaway also. My teenage DS is doing the Wildside.

What are the ages of your kids? I keep wondering if my 9 and 12 YO DDs will want to stay in the lab or stay with us??? No telling yet, I guess.

Do you have early seating for dinner? We do!

Temps in the 70's -80's sounds just lovely to me tonight!! It's 26 here right now!
It was hard to decide what excursions to choose - so many choices! We're doing the Sting Ray City /Blue lagoon choice in Nassau, and in Castaway Cay the boys and my DH are doing the parasailing - not me - no way!!! I just don't do heights! We are also snorkling there and doing the glass bottom boat.
My sons are 16 (sophomore in HS) & 18 (Senior in HS). Greg is too old to be in the teen-age program, and Jeff prefers to be with us,too. I think he's afraid he'll miss out on something!! It's probably our last big family vacation for awhile - what with college expenses coming up next year, so we all just want to be together.
Yes - we have early seating for dinner, too. We prefer to eat early and then have the rest of the evening to do whatever there is to do.

We thought about the stingray city excursion but we really wanted to check out the Atlantis Resort (for future reference) and I want to do some shopping in Nassau. But it sounds like alot of fun, you will have a blast.

My DS, Justin, is also 16 (Sophmore). He really wanted to do the wildside excursion on Castaway Cay which surprises me because he is usually really reserved. He won't be going with us on the Glass bottom boat because of the wild side. His loss.

I know what you mean about college expenses, we figure that this might be the last BIG vacation for the whole family as DS makes his plans for college but who knows? ;)

BTW, it doesn't look like you got an answer to your question about DCL Bus lines pick up time, have you tried posting it on the main forum?

Disney.....look out...here we come!!!!!!!!!

Tish

Thanks, Tish. I did as you suggested and posted my DCL bus pick up time question on the main forum - and did get one response. He thinks the time is noon, so our breakfast plans should work out ok.
I also posted another question there last noc, asking if anyone had stayed in our room on their cruise, and what their opinion of the room and location was. I received one reply, and was thrilled to find out it was a great room to stay in. Location close to stairs and elevator, and no noise. :bounce:
I'm sure your son will have a great time doing the Wildside - I think my 16 yr old would have considered it if his brother could have been there also. As much as he is very out-going, opinionated and noisy at home with us & his friends, etc, he's a bit shy when in a new situation.
What time is your glass bottom boat excursion at castaway cay? I think ours is 12:45. Funny if we're scheduled at the same time! I read a posting that the boat gets crowded and it's hard to see - hope that's not true. I was on a glass bottom boat tour once before on a visit to FL, and it was awesome. DS (the 18 yr old) plans to be a marine biology major in college next year, and is excited about this excursion.
Let the days fly by...........(and let some little fairy come into my house to magically get everything ready for this trip!)

I will watch your other postings as well to see what is suggested. I try to keep up but there are so many.

Our Glass Bottom boat is scheduled for 11:00. I guess we won't cross paths at that time. I am excited about that one too. I hope it is not too crowded.

I think my DS decided to go just to do "something" on his own. Knowing my family, I won't be surprised if we stay together way more than we go our separate ways:grouphug: ...but that would be ok too. AS LONG AS I STILL GET MY SPA TIME.

Are you planning on trying to get ressies at Palo? I am still trying to decide on that one....too much to do and not enough time :headache:

I am with you...Let the day's fly (and if you find that fairy......please send her my way too :jumping1:
