Anybody else ever wonder why Al's Toy Barm is just a backdrop and not a toy store? You would think that they would sell
Toy Story Toys and other stuff - including the Mr. Potato Head boxes. What kid wouldn't want to say he got a toy at Al's Toy Barn. Maybe it's just me...

not just you - I was expecting a whole Toy Story store or maybe vintage styled disney toys.:( - at least we got to see Buzz, Woody, and Jessie. That is one of our top 10 favorite stories.

Now I'm disappointed, because I did think Al's Toy Barn was a real store. I had planned to buy DS a Buzz, Woody, or something after he sees the characters. Is there anywhere I can find TS stuff at MGM?

Steph

You will have no problem finding TS stuff..it is scattered all over the parks and especially at the huge Disney store at DTD....I bought a hard to find Jessie at MK on our last day one year, they stated that they just got another shipment in....I was so happy for my daughter Mackenzie....

I agree with you! It would be very cool and would make sense if it was an actual toy store. Seems like the obvious thing to do, but what do I know about planning theme parks!? lol ;)

You can buy all your Toy Story merchandise in plenty of areas of the park(i.e. Pizza Planet area). Al's Toy Barn just makes it easier to tell guests where to go to meet characters.

Hey BigBabyBlues
I got the neatest Buzz Lightyear Play-doh set at the Contemporary after eating at Chef Mickey's. It's exclusive to Disney. I didn't see it anywhere else but I didn't really look either.
You'll have no problem finding Toy Story stuff.

Me too! I was really looking forward to shopping there next year. So, you're not the only one that thought it was a real store. I'm disappointed too! :(

Us too...but hey don't forget that cart where you can get some toy story stuff right by there and by BUzz light year ride.

:scared1: What!? Not a real toy store. Oh, the boys are going to be VERY disappointed!

There's also a merchandise cart loaded with Toy Story items that is right in front of the exit area of Al's Toy Barn.
Toy Story merchandise really is everywhere on property... you will have no trouble finding anything - and if you do, just ask a Cast Member and they can point you in the right direction.

Darn! I though the same thing about it being a store. :( We are huge TS fans (I might be a bigger fan than the kids!) so will enjoy getting TS stuff but would have loved to see a store.

Well, they may have tried to make it a real store, but realized there was no money in it - remember, everything at Al's is just a BUCK, BUCK, BUCK....

My son was also sooooooo disappointed when we first realized it was only a backdrop, but seeing Buzz Lightyear made him forget all about it. I agree that it would have been a fabulous idea to make it a real toy store, even if it was small. I cannot imagine how much money we would have spent there, especially if it was filled with Toy Story merchandise. We were also hoping that Pizza Planet was going to be as cool as it looked in the movie, but that was a let down, too. There are some video games there, but the atmosphere does not compare with the movie's version. Oh, well.....we still had a wonderful time!!!!::yes:: ::yes::
