I'm wondering what's up with the little "bring back Kaga" pic in your signature...is that the same guy from Iron Chef? Did they let him go?

LOL Yeah...the new chairman is his "nephew" and is a bit bland. It just isn't the same without Kaga!

And yes...I have too much time on my hands.

I guess he is hosting the japanese version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire now. The show just isn't the same without him biting into that pepper.

Allez Cuisine!

LOL....my bf and I just recently got into this show. We die laughing at the bizarre voices that the US has chosen for the Japanese guests.

Why do they not dub over Kaga's voice?

His outfits are really OUT there! Hahahaha :)

Last night's dishes were quite...nasty looking. Ox tail with horse mane fat and crab brains....:crazy2:

Because he is too funny all on his own. You could never do him justice with a dubbing.

Yes, I agree the dishes were gross. I could never be a judge on that show. Even when they are doing desserts they manage to fit squid eyes or something equally as nasty into it. :P

I won't even tell you what I thought the dish with the horse mane fat and the mayo spread over it looked like :rolleyes1 Hehehe :)

Sometimes some of the food looks REALLY good, but there's always that one weird dish where it's just disgusting looking. I told my bf that we should be the ones sitting up there and say things like, "Uhhh...that looks REALLY nasty. I'm NOT touching THAT!" or "I think McDonald's would hit the spot better than this."

LOL....it'd be fun to be on that show :)

I think there was an episode with lobster brains in the desert  now that I think about it :scratchin

The other night Bobby Flay did trout tappas and those looked really good to me.

I think it would be fun...but I would probably vomit. :crazy2:

I hear you on the horse mane fat & mayo dish :bitelip:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :rotfl:

I think my bf made some comment as well that if they had urine in a cup, the panel would drink it and say it tasted good

Seriously though, some of their ingredients are bizarre. Ox tails? That's the weirdest one I've seen to date. The lobsters a few weeks ago looked nice, but the squid/octopus was a little scary. They also describe the food a bit odd. "This food creates harmony in my mouth. The meat is soft, yet salty. The sauce is warm, yet textured. My mouth is very happy."

Have you ever seen SNL make fun of Iron Chef? It is HIL-AR-I-OUS!

We are such Food Network junkies it isn't even funny. HBO series and Food Network just about does it for us these days.

No, I never saw the SNL sketches. Who plays in them?

I have to say my favorite chef is Sakai Hiroyuki, the French Iron Chef. I guess it's his sense of "humor" and life that he has. The other two are so quiet, and never seem to smile.

I didn't care much for the Iron Chef America this past week. I think it's the whole dubbing effect that makes it so amusing :)

I'm a Travel Channel junkie. I love watching all of the haunted hotels/places, cruises, and ANYTHING Vegas on there :)

Wahh, I missed them this week. I haven't seen Iron Chef in a couple of years, but we used to watch it all the time and *loved* Kaga. :)

It's a great show...they should really play it on NBC or something like that :)
