Hey Everyone!

I tried to do a WISH journal once before, but then I fell off track and never posted so I am back here to try it once again.

Since that time, I adopted a dog and have lost 8lbs just from walking with her around the neighborhood. However, due to the economy and being a recent graduate, I am currently working two part-time jobs. This basically means that I have no time to grocery shop or get formal exercise, and that I've been eating fast food on my lunch breaks for a few months now.

I'm hoping to hop back on the diet train and get close to my goal weight by October 28 when I head to Las Vegas with some friends for our yearly "reunion" (we live in different parts of the country now).

So, that's a little over 15 pounds to lose before that time. Think I can do it? I hope I can get close!

I currently weigh 143 (my ticker thinks I'm 140. Had some emotional eating issues these last few weeks which bumped me up a few pounds). My goal is 125 and then we will see how I feel at that weight before deciding if I want to take it further or maintain it.

I am 5'2'' so I need to be between 98-137 lbs to be at an "acceptable weight". Although, I don't think I'd ever want to be 98 lbs...that would just be way too skinny! I don't want my bones sticking out!!

I hope you'll follow my posts and share your tips, advice, and comments with me along the way!

I think you can do it, or at least get close! 125 sounds like a very reasonable weight for your height.

Tip: Drink lots of water (I'm on a no booze and no soft drink ban for this month).

Thank you!!! Looks like you have lost a bunch according to your ticker - congrats!

This is already helping! I wanted to finish the whole bag of my snack (like I do so often), and thought about how I'd have to post that here on the DIS for the world to see. So I stopped myself!

I did not get any formal exercise today because I was trying to get some rest. (Working 2 jobs often means I don't have weekends or days off, and I also have to work nights followed by early mornings sometimes. So, no rest finally caught up with me and I am feeling sick. Thought I would take it easy today and called in sick.)

My food choices were as follows:

Breakfast - 1 C Vanilla Almond cereal with 8 oz. unsweetened almond milk

Snack - No sugar added dried mango

Lunch - Black Bean soup with baguette and iced green tea from Panera

Snack - Red pepper hummus with mini pitas

Dinner - Udon microwave soup

Dessert - Soy delicious mini ice cream sandwich

Snack - Animal crackers

All of this added up to be exactly 1500 calories, so I'd say that was a pretty good first day!

So, where do you these sandwiches? How good are they?

I bought those ones at Whole Foods. I think they are called So Delicious but I always call them Soy Delicious for some reason. They are small with neopolitan ice cream in the middle and are pretty good.

I don't know if you have a Trader Joe's near you, but their Soy Creamy Chocolate non-dairy mini ice cream sandwiches are the best!! So yummy and I need to grab some more next time I'm near the store. They are 90 calories and worth every bite.

So day 2 was going great...until I got to the baseball game and had curly fries, onion rings, and a veggie dog. :confused3 My friend telling me that it is okay to splurge and if I hold myself back I will just binge later did NOT help me, not to mention I have zero willpower to begin with!

I'm going to try to look at the bright side, though. Normally this kind of food would follow a days worth of too many calories, so at least I started off the day on the right track.

My day consisted of:

Breakfast - Fiber Bar (haven't had time to go to the grocery store to get more cereal!) and a Soy Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks

Snack - Dried mango

Lunch - Amy's Tamale, animal crackers as dessert

Snack - Mini Lara bar

Dinner - Veggie dog, curly fries, onion rings

That added up to 1050 calories before the big dinner splurge!!

Tomorrow is another day. I feel gross and guilty after eating that, so next time I will try to remember that this is NOT a good feeling and definitely not worth the extra calories!

Maybe I shouldn't ask but what are "curly friends"?

What I've learned is that it's okay to splurge some once in awhile as long as you nip it in the bud.

Wow, totally meant curly fries. Curly friends sound interesting, though!! :rotfl:

So even if no one is reading this besides for redlight, it is still helping me to feel accountable for what I'm eating!

Yesterday was day 3 and I did well.

Breakfast - Dried mango and a soy pumpkin spice latte

Snack - Fiber bar

Lunch - Black bean soup, roll, and green tea at Panera

Dinner - Peanut Sesame Noodles

Did pretty well yesterday with a total of 1490 calories! I know the noodles were not the best choice as they accounted for most of the days calories, but I had a craving!

Also had a chance to stop by the grocery store to get some fresh fruit! Still no time for formal exercise, though. Hopefully once October hits I can make time since the hours for my one job will be decreasing by a lot.

I've been doing really well on my diet, but have not had time to post my daily food journals online. I am still keeping the journal in a small notebook that I keep in my purse at all times.

I lost 2 pounds in my first week, YAY!!

I'm following you. I'm a little said you said you would never want to be 98lbs. I am 98lbs and I'm 5'0, I don't think my bones stick out if nothing else I think my muscles off more. :P

Are you a vegan? I'm just a little concerned because I don't see very much protein at your meals or calcium. I'm not sure if you are taking supplements. I was just curious, I know you don't have to eat animal products in order to obtain either one of these either. You can either take a supplement or eat dark lefty green vegetables. And of course protein can come from Tofu and Legumes. I think adding a little bit more of those items will give you a well balanced meal.

For example for me I weight like a said 98lbs. I eat 6 meals a day which equates to about 1800 calories a day. I am very active so I need that much to keep my body running.

I just wanna take my breakfast for example, I eat 1 serving of Dairy or Calcium sub, (which is pretty much an 8oz glass of milk) 1 cup of cooked brown rice, like half of a chicken breast, 2 cups of spinach, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and lots of water. And right there is a well rounded meal. I do not actually take the time to measure out all my food cause I'm a slow cooker user. I make all my food for the day in the morning or the night before. I eat egg whites as my protein and I love oatmeal I eat it almost everyday!

I mean of course you don't have to take anything I'm saying just suggestions.
