Hi there!

I finally bit the bullet and got the Crocs Cayman style with the 20% off code Shoebuy had over the weekend. Everyone's raved about them so much!

They just arrived tonight, and the initial try-on feels really good. I plan to wear them around the house to try to get a feel for them, but it seems like they actually have some good arch support, which I need.

Now I typically wear a size 8, and my foot does have room in the shoe, but I notice my toes are very close to the inside front, and seem to hit against it as I walk. Does anyone else have this issue, and do your toes push forward more as you walk? I'd be concerned about chafing, and really want to use these for park touring, but I would hate to have that discomfort.

My fear with going a size up would be that they would be too big.

Thoughts?

And thanks!:goodvibes

My Crocs "feel" a bit big as compared with other shoes, but they are great once you get used to them. Your foot has room to move and breathe. I think that it might just take some time to get used to!

Wear them for a bit at home and see what you think!

Thanks Mike! I'm going to wear them around the house a bit. Aren't they supposed to mold to your foot as well? Perhaps when that happens it'll give me a bit more room.

They aren't going to stretch in the length, so I would get the next size up, if it were me. I don't usually wear that style during the summer months, because they do tend to get hot. I wear them in the fall and winter with socks. I wear the Athens and Ithica flip flops now and they are the most comfortable shoes I own. Mine haven't molded to my feet like Birkenstocks are supposed to, but the little nubby things will wear down eventually, I guess that means it is time for a new pair.

I have 2 pairs and I love them. Don't wear anything else during the summer!!

Crocs are made big so you have moving room. You have to get used to them and wear them a while, as you were them more and more the shoe will take the shape of your foot inside and they will feel great. I don't think you need the next size up.

I even have a lot of Disney characters on mine! You can get them on-line at crocs.com or at disney, I have heard they sell them all over the place.

If you do wear them to Disney you can wear them for a day, but I would not wear them 2 days in a row, your feet will start to hurt. I have had this happen after walking a lot 2 days in a row and many friends and family members have told me the same thing.
Good Luck, I know you will love them!!!

I, too need good arch support. I tried on the size 9, which seemed to be just a tad too short, but the 10's were on the large size. I just wish they had half sizes. I stayed with the 10's and am very happy with them.

Normally, I am a flip flop wearer. Do you think I would prefer the flip flop style more? Also, what size do you get in the flip flops, what you normally wear or a size up? I'm really found of the new Capri style with the patterned fabric, they look adorable.

Well, after wearing them around the house a bit, I still feel like my toe is hitting the top and I think that would annoy me with extended wear. I'm wondering if my toes just want to be free!:lmao:

I know, I really need half sizes too! Typically in any type of sandal, I prefer an 8.5, usually in 8s part of my foot will hang off the back, but usually only one, since of course one of my feet is slightly larger than the other.

I have found that the ones that are marked for unisex are sized differently then the ones specifically for women and some of the colors are. My mom even had the same issue. I wear my Crocs all day everyday and it has helped my plantar fasciitis (foot pain).

If your toes hit the front of the shoe, get the next size up. They don't fit right.
That's not to say that some whose toes hit the front aren't comfortable in their crocs, but that's not the way they're supposed to fit. The reason why crocs don't give blisters nearly as much as regular shoes is because when you step down in a croc your foot should center itself, leaving a small amount of space between the foot and the shoe in all directions. If your foot doesn't rub on the shoe, it can't create any friction, and friction is the main cause of blisters.

Text taken from a site about the fit of crocs:

When I try on my Crocs, how do I know if they fit?

Crocs aren’t like normal shoes and aren’t supposed to fit in the same way.

Beach and Cayman...
It’s important that these styles remain relatively loose – there should be a small amount of space between the sides of your foot and the sides of the Crocs and with time your Crocs will mould to the shape of your foot.

Other fit tips for these styles are as follows;

• Your toes should never make contact with the front of your Croc
• With your foot centred on the footbed, ideally you should have 6-12mm (1/4 to ½ an inch) of space in front of your toes and get a finger inside the heel strap when set around the back of the foot.
• There should be no pressure points.
• If you find that the strap is pushing your foot forward, gently stretch strap by working it with your fingers to make it a little longer. The resin material that is used to make Crocs has a memory so after you have stretched the strap a couple of times it should remain the new length.

Other styles...
As with any footwear, it is important that with whatever Crocs you wear, that they feel comfortable. Make sure your foot sits comfortably in the centre of the anatomical footbed and that there is enough room for your toes. If you have an open toed style, make sure that your toes do not reach over the end of the footbed where they could be damaged more easily and if the style is enclosed around the heel, make sure that you cannot get more than a finger down the back of your foot when it is in the shoe to eliminate movement and prevent rubbing.

I am a true believer in crocs. We take extended vacations, and since wearing crocs the past few years (I only wear the beach. If it ain't broke, don't fix it) I don't get any blisters anymore! I do suffer from Plantar Fasciitis sometimes, and I simply put the footpads inside the croc and they stay put. I have to take them out when it rains though.

Hope this helps.

Do they tend to feel 'big,or loose' at the instep, or on the top where you put your foot in, and is the strap loose across your heel? I want to wear the strap, but I almost feel like I will walk out of them because they feel big.

I prefer the Athens even over my new Ithica that were $10 cheaper. I don't think I would like the capri, because that fabric would rub the top of my foot. I wear my Athens around the house all day, I hate taking them off to come to work. Even the Athens can be hot, but not as hot as the Caymen. I think mine are the Beach style, I can never remember.

In the Athens I get my regular size which is a 10. I can't remember what size y Disney Crocs are, but they are a little tight across the top of my foot, I don't have any issue with the length, so I just throw them in the clothes dryer for about 2 minutes before I wear them and that helps. My Dh has a pair that is probably one size larger and I love to "steal" his, but if I wear them off, I have to wear socks or risk falling.

If you have a store where you can go try on different styles, I would do that, then order them if you can get them cheaper. I have to try on shoes before I buy them, since I hate wearing shoes.

I've been wearing them for years so It's hard to judge if they feel loose. They just feel like crocs. The instep doesn't touch the top of my foot if that helps.

This year (about a week ago as a matter of fact..lol), I was wearing pink and dd was wearing purple. I don't have pink crocs, she did, and mine are purple. She was wearing a size small pink and white mickey croc (she's do for the next size up though) and I was wearing a size large in purple. So we figured we'd switch and if they got uncomfy we could just switch back. The small was too small in that my toes touched the top, though not painfully and for the day they were fine actually. I could see if I wore them longer it would have been a problem. I wear crocs without the strap. DD wears them with the strap and she was ok with mine on. She did have fun flinging her foot forward to purposely have them shoot off her foot  , but when she was walking normally they stayed put. They were too big for her and I wouldn't recommend anyone wearing them big...lol, but for our purposes that day they were fine.

So, if she could wear them like that and they don't fall off, I don't think you would have a problem. They probably just take some getting used to.

BTW, I take a true size 8 woman's and dd takes a size 6.5 womens (she has big feet..lol).

Thanks Anc96 for posting that great info!

My guess would be they're a bit too tight for me in the front. Another pp asked me about the strap...all I can say is that it's secure, but it's by no means tight. It feels pretty good.

I can tell that my toes hitting the top of the shoe would bother me.

And I am intrigued by the flip flops. I think I may take a look at them online. Has anyone been able to find the flip flops in stores or just the regular style Crocs?

Dick's Sporting Goods has them, if you have one of those and I noticed Disney had them when we were there in June in colors that I haven't seen anywhere else.

I do have some Dick's Sporting Goods near me, so I think I'm going to have to head out and actually :::sigh::: go shopping.:lmao:

I am so an Internet shopper. I love the free shipping and returns shoebuy has.:thumbsup2

I had a similar issue with my crocs...but I followed he advice on the Crocs site, and just stretched the strap out a bit so that it doesn't push my foot forward so much, and it worked!

I can't wear the cayman or beach b/c they do not fit me right and I have very narrow feet.

So, I have the cleo & capri crocs, both sandal & flip flog style. They are very comfy and I wore the cleos at Disney with no problem.

I bought both of them at Dick's.

DH has a pair of caymans and he said it rubs on the top of his toes. :confused3

So, I bought him the athens for Father's Day and he seems to like them so far. He claims he will be wearing gym shoes at Disney though.

I just thought of a quick reminder to those that wear the flip flop style, make sure to put some sunscreen on the top of your feet. I have the Athens strap mark sun-tanned on the top of my foot from our recent trip to Disney. I do ride an ECV, so that might have been some of the issue, but nevertheless, it can happen.

I too do not care to wear "closed" shoes in the summer, and I absolutely  the Capris!

I wore my khaki pair the entire week of our June trip last year and my feet/legs were in heaven. I never had blisters or achy calves (like I usually do).

I just got my black/white patterned Capris in and they're super cute. I'm planning on getting another plain pair before our August trip.

I found the new fabric strap croc flip flops (capris??) at our local mall...they were at the Crocs Kiosk...I REALLY like them...very "swishy" foot-bed and the strap do not rub on your foot since they are nice, soft fabric.
