Tried to book a studio at either SSR or VWL today for 12/2-12/3 OR 12/9-12/10, and no studio availability at either one!! In fact, no studios available at any of the resorts for those dates! We'd like a quick 2 night trip to go to MVMCP on 12/2 or 12/7. I did waitlist for 12/9-12/10, but just not sure if we should approach it with different dates or not. Trying to go on one of the NON-premier MVMCP nites. It's over 5 months out, so no availability really surprises me. I know our chances of the waitlist coming thru are good, but it's such a bummer to make plans, get excited, then call MS and... "sorry".
Think a 1BR would be easier to get? Just trying to conserve points...

This is busy time for DVC due to low points. These places are booked solid at 11 months out. I booked mine at 11 months (SSR) and waitlisted at 7 for the BW. Good luck on finding something. With the prices of transportation, there are bound to be cancellations. I am staying in a 2 br and still had to wait list so I guess the room size really doesn't matter.

We are in the same boat...just bought into DVC. I knew that it was a busy DVC week, but was kinda surprised when there were NO studios available anywhere that week. We are waitlisted for either Mon-Wed and Wed-Sat for any studio and will stay on cash the extra nights either way.

I book my late November early December trip at the 11 month out point every year and have always done it day by day. One year I tried to book VWL at the 7 month window as OKW was my home resort and they were booked solid - all room types. I switched to SSR since is was brand new and I wanted a change of pace from OKW and waitlisted VWL in a studio. It never came through even being waitlisted at the 7 month point and calling morning noon and night the week before. I think you'll have a better shot at SSR than VWL due to the size and may get lucky if people decide not to pay the higher airfares. This by the way was the year I sold my OKW and purchased VWL:santa: as I couldn't take not being there at Christmastime.

Yes, unfortunately Dec is very busy. I booked my trip at 11 month window for the trip end and couldn't book one of the nights. At 7 months, I moved everything around but I still have 6 nights of waitlists for 1 BRs. Yes, I have reservations for those nights but I am trying to consolidate down to 2 resorts.

We have a December waitlist thread going at Dec 2008 Waitlist Thread

I think your post is a bit late. People have been waitlisted for December for months already. Dec really needs you to make a reservation at 11 months out.

I had the same situation when I called a few weeks ago for a studio at SSR for 3 nights during the first 2 weeks of December. I did end up calling back and was able to get three nights 12/14 - 12/17 (studio at SSR). I was very happy with that. I wanted to use my AP before it expires!

I have been waitlisted for some dates in early December since January 31st! Some have come through but one hasn't and that is the one alot are having a problem with.

Hoping you do have some luck, but I think you may have to take what comes your way and waitlist at all DVC locations.

Claire ;)

Hopefully your waitlist will come through:goodvibes

Just curious.....are you going to go to WDW from Indiana for 2 nights:confused3 .....that is dedication:worship:

My folks live in central FL and we fly into Orlando, so sometimes we extend the visit a night or two and go to our 'other home'. :)

When the 11 month window opens for December arrivals, the phones at DVC are always busy. This is prime season for DVC....low points, Christmas decorations and all of the holiday events going on. But hang in there. I know that twice I had to cancel due to family issues...a lot can happen in 11 months....including a new grandbaby! I have learned to plan my vacations a year in advance since becoming a DVC member!

Makes sense....I wish I had another "good" reason to fly into Orlando:goodvibes

Congratulations! Aren't grandbabies just the best? My little Nicholas, the blonde below, was adopted from an orphanage in Siberia Russia, and when the call finally came that my DD and DSIL could come and take him home, we had to cancel our vacation...he was 13 months then...

Glad your wait list came through! WOO HOO:cool1:
