Already used code to get room only - change to package later to get dining

As above, I already used the code to get a discount on room only at AKL.

Down the road, if I want to add DDP, I understand I would then have to change the room only ressie to a package reservation.

If that is done, would I have to then pay whatever the rate is at that time for the package, and potentially give up the savings that I got on the room using the code?

To do that you would actually be canceling your room only and making a whole new package reservation. So, yes you would lose the room only discount.

Also in the past the "free" dining package makes you pay rack rate (non-discounted rate) for the room (plus everybody on the res has to be on the same package, have to purchase at least a one day ticket for everyone,etc.) - so if it opens, be sure to price it out both ways

I just booked using the code and got a full package,tickets and DDP...I also booked AKL.I didn't want to chance deciding to get the DDP later and have to forfeit the room discount

I booked a room only with a pin code and called today to change it to a package for the dinning, my DH wanted it again. I decided to do it now then to wait, especially since it seems as if rooms are running out fast with this pin code promo. On the email I recieved it said that you had to book by March 15, so that is the absolute latest I would wait to make a change.

OK how does one do this and is the package deposit still $200. We have a room at Poly for our honeymoon with the pin code we got, but a package type thing might make more sense.

Just call & tell them you want to make some changes to an exsisting ressie. Disney is not going to turn down getting more money from you! And yes, the deposit on packages is $200.

When I made ressies yesterday with the code the CM (Lyle) said it was for room only and that I would have to purchase my tickets separately. You mean I can make a package reservation with the code. I really wanted to add tickets and dining. Help!
