Already Booked?

Hi, I'm a Newby here!
We are planning out trip for Jan/Feb 2009. If we already have a room only ressie, how likely are we to receive a code, in your experience? Less likely b/c we're already booked, or more likely b/c we're in the system? Any thoughts?

I had already booked a Magic Your Way package (through AAA) when I received mine.

You were able to apply the code although you had booked through AAA? Did you have to cancel AAA and rebook thru Disney? We are planning on booking the magic your way package w/ AAA also, and cancelling our room only ressie, unless a big code comes up.

Honestly, I'm not sure how the AAA agent did it. I gave him the info, and he took care of it. We changed from the Contemporary to a more expensive room at the Poly, and still saved $500

hmmm...maybe I should ask the agent what he'd able to do if we get a code. Not that we wouldn't go ahead and book b/c the AAA discount is great.

Also, from what people have been saying: if you haven't already done so, go to the Disney Reservations website, Order the trip planning DVD. Play with some numbers-- set up a trip at several of the luxury resorts. (no, you don't have to actually book it, just crunch the numbers.)

People are saying it may make you more likely to get a code.

I did it in the process of planning our trip, so it may be how we got lucky, who knows??
