Hello, I am having problems getting in contact with Alpharooms, I have emailed them, phoned numerous times, only to be told to email them, that in turn they dont reply to.We have used them before no problem, but after reading other peoples stories ,problems with no contact are rife if you change, cancel or amend your booking.

I booked room only and then found it cheaper on their website, so cancelled (because I had paid extra for cancellation cover) and rebooked at the cheaper price. Then told to keep an eye open on there raise a support option for my refund- that was 2 weeks ago and nothing:eek:
I paid £101 deposit on cc and the rest on debit card. Any ideas folks?

Hope its sorted soon. I have used them a few times but never cancelled so no idea how long it takes, I know refunds take longer than they should, I have been waiting for £801 back from Hertz amost 2 weeks.

Thanks Wayne,Cant believe it now just contacted my bank and to get anywhere with the debit card bit, I need Alpharooms to send me confirmation that I can cancel booking, then I have to send it to them, this is great seeing they dont answer anything:scared1:
Even though im in tears, the woman said from the bank after speaking to 3 others, oh I see you might benefit from our mortgage offers , then said you are very feint, could you phone back, I think there is something wrong with your phone.
I moan when my fella does his Victor Meldrew impression, but today takes some beating.::headache:
Sorry for the rant.

Don't get me going about banks, Still waiting for a response from Santander about my complaint. Also Nat West who I use for my Business account has decided to close Wednesday afternoons, the only time I can get in. Been with them 21 years but can't stay with them now, I have a cheque here but can't pay it in. Everything about banks is winding me up just now:rotfl:
Let us know how you go with it.

I know what you really need right now is to have this all sorted, but in the meantime I thought you could use one of these  and some of this pixiedust:

When you phone them and they tell you to put it into an email, have you tried the hard line approach where you won't let them go until you are happy? I know it sounds extreme but asking to speak to a supervisor and then keeping the customer advisor on the phone by being persistent and insisting that you will not hang up until you have been put through sometimes yields results. It may tak some time and persistence, but they are not supposed to end the call - the customer has to put the phone down first ;) Make sure you get the person's name when you phone so that if they do threaten to end the call you can threaten to report them. It probably won't even come to that, but you need to try and sound firm but calm. You don't have to feel that way - you just need to convince the person on the other side of the phone that you are.

I would be taking a firm line with them by this stage. All you are asking for is information - that is not unreasonable. Let us know how you get on.

Oh, and if you don't think you can handle it, it's almost noon - get yourself a stiff drink and go get 'em! :thumbsup2

:)Ah thanks for your kindness. My sister just said ring them back and complain, so I did, they apologised about offering me a mortgage product when obviously, im really upset and frustrated,BUT she then informs me there is nothing you can do about the debit card part but wait, basically just hope they repay it.

Today is one of those life lesson learned days! Pay everything with my CC, and be thankful for kind hearted people on dis boards!:)

Im starting to breath again:rotfl:

Glad you are feeling better. Did you get yourself that drink I sent you to pour? ;)

I actually meant for you to phone alpharooms and give them what-for, but very good that you thought to ring the bank too. I think you deserved your apology.

In the meantime, if you are going to give it more time before doing anything further, remember that as Wayne says, these refunds can take a lot longer than what we would consider to be reasonable. You can either be patient or turn up the heat.

Let us know when you get your money back. :)

Well I emailed Alpharooms and told them I had contacted card companies etc, straight after and within the hour, I get an apology and they blamed it on heavy work volume, why they hadn't been able to respond to any of my previous emails, calls, prayers :rotfl:etc and said I should be refunded in another 5 days:yay:

So, will let you know if they come good, when that happens! Thanks again, I feel a bit stupid now:rolleyes1 but I think you work hard, plan your little heart out and somethin always seems to go belly up! Anyway will keep you posted.

Have a nice trip 2Tiggies, we will be at POR in Nov,then onto I.drive, then RPR, thats if the men in white coats dont drag me off first!Lol:rotfl:

Thank you! No, no men in white coats. Does eating an apple every day not keep the white-coat-men away ..... because Morisons has some good offers on red apples this week .... ;)

So glad you have a response. At least you know where you stand now!
