Alohaaaaa!!! Let's do the hula!!!!!! TR LINK ADDED

Hollie started Kindergarden? Wow, lots of things happening in your neck of the woods between a new baby and your other baby starting K.:cool1:
I do think President's day week will be more crowded than normal. Obviously, it won't be like Christmas or Easter. The entire week shouldn't be horrible, just the weekend. February is my favorite month to live in Florida weather-wise.

I was looking at Hannah's pics and thinking she looks like Hollie, then I scrolled down to the one with Hollie's baby pic - WOW!!

Hope you get to feeling more like yourself soon!

We were in WDW last year for Presidents week. The week before Presidents weekend was great! Perfectly cool and comfortable weather and very low crowds...then Saturday rolled around and we went to Magic Kingdom. :crowded: Three hours later we had only been on two rides and just decided to leave the park. It was uncomfortably crowded! :crazy2: Sunday was the same. There was a very large and noticable difference in the crowd the week before to the crowd on Presidents weekend.

Oh, Heather, I wish I could help -- we have never been during President's Week, so I have no clue!

(You know, it really wouldn't be the end of the world to miss a few days of kindergarten...:rolleyes1)

Would a 'second' on this from another teacher make you feel any better about keeping your dates?

Presidents' Week is notorious for crowds, although I have only read and heard it, not experienced it. If you did rope drops, you could get in what you could, then leave for the afternoon. It would still be crowded at night, though.

Still, I will stick with Jackie on this. I think it would be so much nicer with what you have scheduled. ;) You can do this now, but it'll be the last time until Hannah is out of school, so think about how long that is going to be! I'd take advantage of the opportunity.

Just don't tell anyone that a couple of teachers told you to skip school. :rolleyes1

These people speak from experience. :thumbsup2

 I hope you get back to feeling more like yourself.

Remember you are now the Mommy of two so life won't be the same as it was.

How is Hannah doing?

I bet Hollie is so excitted about Kindergarden.

I havn't been during February either but I vote to keep your dates. :thumbsup2

I have taken my kids out of school before and thier academics weren't hurt by it.

To add further, Aaron changed schools in Kindergrden and that didn't even hinder him. ;)

I would just pull her out. Thats what I plan to do with Claire when we go. I have no problems doing it. I did it with my other 2 as well. I think family time for a week or couple days is much more important.

My opinion, don't change your dates...

Hollie will be ok if she misses a few days of school... Just let the teacher know in advance...

When I took my kids out of school to go to Disney, the teacher gave them their homework they were missing and had them each keep a journal of what they did each day... And they had to give a report when they got back...

Remember, Disney is VERY EDUCATIONAL!!! :thumbsup2

Nancy...

ps. Congrats!!! Hannah is adorable!!!

I agree with the rest-- don't change your dates! I remember my father pulled me out of school for almost two weeks to go to Ireland when I was in first or second grade. I (and apparently the teachers!) was fine!

I definitely agree with memom and Jackie--take Hollie out of school. I went the week after spring break this year and let me just say that it was the best decision i've made! The crowds were so much more manageable!

I agree keep your already scheduled dates :thumbsup2 It won't hurt Hollie to miss a few days of Kindergarten. DS6 and a 1st grader this year is gonna miss 4 days of school for our trip in Sept. and DD although she is only in Pre-K will also miss 4 days :goodvibes

I wish I could help, Heather. Anyway, if you are okay with pulling Hollie out of school then just stick with your dates. I don't think it would be a big deal. Just send a letter to the teacher letting he or she know : )

Ok I'm obviously not a parent yet but I'm going to go with all the other people who said to just pull Hollie out of school for a few days. When I was a kid we went to FL 3 times...I was in 2nd grade, 6th grade and 9th grade and we always went in October. My brother is 2 years younger than me so the first time we went, he was in Kindergarten like Hollie. We both made it through perfectly fine with wonderful grades. If you're ok with it, I say stick with the dates you have now!! :thumbsup2

Well, we have our reservations made!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

We decided to stick with our original date! So......its Monday, February 7th through Saturday, February 12th! Now, there was a change. I was sad about it, but will get over it! We are staying at Caribbean Beach Resort. I am sad we aren't gonna be at the Poly, but thats okay. When Chad, Hollie, Hannah and I go by ourselves, that is where we will stay! It will either be February of 2012 or October of 2012.

I have my ADR's I have to make tomorrow!

We are gonna do the Spirit of Polynesia Luau. We love it and can't wait for Hollie to see it!

Then of course, Crystal Palace on our MK day!

I had this same problem. I realized Nova was now going to be regular 9 month school, where before she was year round. I was always able to pick the track that gave us Feb thru March vacations.

I cancelled our 2011 trip because I realized the only time we could do our 10 night stay would be..... do I dare say.... Spring Break!

I am like you, no spring break!!!! haha

Oh, Heather, I wish I could help -- we have never been during President's Week, so I have no clue!

(You know, it really wouldn't be the end of the world to miss a few days of kindergarten...:rolleyes1)

That is what I was thinking! Surely her teacher wouldn't mind too much!

LOL!! Oh yes and I cried like a baby! I still have pictures I need to share on here!

I am telling you, they are like twins born 5 years apart! lol

Oh my word, only 2 rides in 3 hours!! Yikes!!!!!

LOL!! I promise I won't tell anyone that some teachers told me to skip!! haha

I don't really think it would be all that bad. Its not like she is studying for finals already and taking tons of tests!

 I hope you get back to feeling more like yourself.

I am slowly but surely starting to feel like myself now! :)

Hannah is doing good! On her 1 week checkup, she was 9 lbs! She is a little chunk!

Hollie absolutely loved kindergarten!! She thinks its so cool to be there! lol

I would just pull her out. Thats what I plan to do with Claire when we go. I have no problems doing it. I did it with my other 2 as well. I think family time for a week or couple days is much more important.

We decided to just keep our dates! That way we don't deal with crowds!! lol!
You are so right, family time is way more important!

I agree! I will just tell the teacher. She is really nice and I know she will understand.

Aww, that is really cool the teacher did that!

Aww, thank you so much!! :)

Sounds like a plan to me!!!!

I would rather her be out of school a couple of days than deal with crowds!!

Hollie would more than likely love being out a few days and enjoying Disney! She will probably thinks its funny since she should be in school! lol

I wish I could help, Heather. Anyway, if you are okay with pulling Hollie out of school then just stick with your dates. I don't think it would be a big deal. Just send a letter to the teacher letting he or she know : )

I agree on the pulling her out! Her teacher is really, really nice and I know will understand! :)

Hannah is absolutely beautiful! Congratulations!!! :goodvibes

Aww, thanks girl!!

Girl!!!!!! I haven't been on the disboards for awhile and here I came to check on you and little sweet Hannah is here!:woohoo: She is beyond adorable and I truly mean that because I've seen some ugly babies! Ok, maybe homely is a better word!

After looking at both Hollie's newborn pic and Hannah together, I've come to the conclusion that Hannah looks more like you!:) Ah, newborn babies are the absolute sweetest thing in the world. I love how scrunchy their little faces are and how darn good they smell after a bath! I'm sure you're enjoying it all and I love how excited Hollie looked at the hospital to see her new little sister. So cute!

I'm so behind on your pre-trip that I have to go back and catch up! But first I wanted to congratulate you and Chad on beautiful Hannah! So I guess you decided against naming her Universal Studios!:goodvibes

ETA: I just saw that you were contemplating President's Day week. We've done it before and my only advice is to avoid it if it coincides with Mardi Gras. Apparently people from LA get a school holiday during Mardi Gras so they escape to Disney! And no I'm not making that up either, I spoke to a very nice family on the bus at Disney who told me all this.

Yay for booking your trip! :)

I think it's a good idea you won't be at the Poly this trip, it'll be even more special when just you, Chad & the girls go :thumbsup2

Yay for having your trip booked!!! If you go in October 2012 maybe our dates will coincide. Can you just see all 4 girls sitting on Main Street giggling as we wait for the parade? Brooklynn and Hollie and their Southern accents would be the evening's entertainment!

Congratulations on having your trip booked!!! :woohoo: What a great feeling!!

:rotfl: I wish I could be there for this!!!
