I messed up with my post earlier today and didn't include a "Thank you" to you. I loved your pics too and am so happy for you and your family - your upcoming stay at the Poly is sure to be fantastic!

Thanks to everyone who has been posting the lovely pictures lately. It's really helping the last few days of waiting go a bit better. I just can't wait to be at the Poly! Only 6 more days!!!

Ooohhh - lucky you! :goodvibes

Since we are posting pictures I'll put up this guy, I wanted to take him home in my luggage and put him in my yard.

Hey all! Thanks for the pictures. I love seeing the Poly from so many different perspectives. :thumbsup2

Finally!! Today we finalized the dates and reservation for our trip in October/November. I think my TA would strangle me if she could :rolleyes1

These dates feel good to me. 10/30 to 11/6. We are actually spending Halloween at Disney again and plan on going to MNSSHP on Halloween night.

Now that this is set I can start working on our ADRs

mmmmmmm I think I am going to ask for my dessert first this time when we eat at Ohana... I am always sooo stuffed when they bring out that heavenly bread pudding.... What a yummy pic!

So I am thinking of taking my kids to see The Ultimate Wave Tahiti at the IMAX/OMNIMAX on spring break to get them in the mood for the Poly. We only get to the city a couple times per year (I know this is way too sad) so we are going to do the museums and such. I want to do an IMAX film and I am sure my dh is going to want to go for the Under the Sea (both are playing) but the Kelly Slater movie just seems so perfect. Am I going a little Poly crazy here??? :) Has anyone seen it??? The preview is on You Tube at the link below:

Vettegirl -- great photos! Thanks for posting! I totally understand changing to the Poly -- it's just so pretty and relaxing there!!!:cloud9:

Sunshine -- great idea about the dessert! We all love that dessert, but never have enough room left to do it justice! :rotfl:

Thanks for the movie info - I'm going to tell my DH. He'd LOVE that Kelly Slater movie!

O.K. here is my question...I do not think I will like Captain Cooks much (don't throw tomato's)
Since I am planning to full resort only days at the POLY, I think I may go to GF CS for lunch.

Has anyone else done this & if you dis what was the CS like?

We had a light dinner one day at GG. We really enjoyed it. They made really nice sandwiches. There was also a cabinet full of yummy looking baked goods that you could choose for dessert and you could have a smoothy as your drink choice (for the DP). We are definitely planning on dropping by the GF again for a CS meal. :thumbsup2 (though I do think you should give CC a try ... :rolleyes1)

1. Yes, all of the rooms have a daybed.

2. This is the fax # I have 407-824-3174. I have heard that not all room assigners pay attention to faxes though. The things you can request on the on-line check-in form are limited (crib, refrigerator - which you automatically get at Poly anyways, and 1st floor I think). We just phoned the main reservation number and had our requests added to our reservation. We got most of what we wanted (third floor, connecting rooms) except for the specific longhouse, but we loved our location in the end anyways, so it didn't matter (the other requests were more important to us).

3. Poly does have pool games/activities. They aren't every day of the week though and the times vary. You will get a schedule when you check in.

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks maiapapaya!

And thanks to everyone posting pics and info! Keep them coming! :thumbsup2

1. How long would it take to walk to Grand Floridian (GF) from the Poly (let's say from the middle of the Poly/main longhouse)?

2. Is the Quick Service at the GF better than the quick service at Poly?

3. Is there anywhere around the Poly pool where you can use Dining Plan credits for snacks and beverages? (thinking about afternoons around the pool and we'll be on the deluxe dining plan, so we'll have a lot of credits)!

Only 6 months to go, LOL! :lmao:

1. It depens on how fast do you walk. I would say it is a 10 minute "stroll" along a beautiful path along the beach between the two resorts. The best time is when the sun is setting...the stroll is fabulous :lovestruc

2. That is a matter of personal opinion ;) You might have to try both to see. I like both. There are some that love Capt Cooks and Some that hate CC.

3. Capt Cooks is a short walk from the pool. You can get snacks there as well as fill your mugs :thumbsup2
