Aloha! ***Welcome to the NEW Poly FAQ***

We just got back from our Poly stay on Tuesday, and we are so thrilled with everything Poly!! We couldn't have picked a better place for our family to spend our first WDW vacation together. The room was nice, our "GV" room in Fiji (room 1302) was wonderful with a perfect view of the GF/beach/water. I couldn't have asked for a better room in this category! It was quiet, yet so close to the Grand Ceremony house and volcano pool. I could sit on the patio first thing in the morning and just enjoy my coffee in my PJ's and not worry about too many people seeing me. :rotfl:

Can't wait to go back!

And DH and I spoke about it, that if we could have this same room again, we would probably even pick it over a castle view room. IMO (and I'm sure I'll get flamed for this) the view isn't that spectacular. Yes, it's nice to see the castle from your room, but in all honesty, it is quite far away. That's just my opinion, though, and I'm stickin' to it :)

Thanks! We are leaving soon for 1st WDW vacation - myself, DH, DD's (13&11) and DS (8). I also booked GV room so I am interested to see where we end up - lots of recommendations for "requests" on these boards but I was thinking we would see where we end up.....what do you think? Did you request a particular longhouse? Opinions on these boards are mixed....we will be park hopping for 3-1/2days, deluxe dining, and looking for easy access to the parks..........thoughts appreciated.

I think I am going to call today and make a request for a 3rd floor room in Fiji or Samoa. DH loves having a great view!

Some photo's to start your day! I know some of you are snowed in and I hope everyone is safe and warm

Thanks Breezysmom. Those are beautiful pics. Although we are not getting the storm that those on the east are getting, it is very cold here. About -20C
We leave for the Poly in 3mos and 6days.:cheer2:
Can't wait.

When we book gardenview, we leave it up to the Tiki gods.:hippie: As you can tell from the posts, every longhouse has its advantages.:dance3:

It's cold here, too. -12 C with wind chill. Thanks for the pictures, BreezysMom.:surfweb: Less than 3 weeks until we check in!:cool1:

It's a chilly morning in Southern Ontario so I am loving the Poly pictures. We are all SO excited to be staying at the Poly in just 37 days. Thanks for posting the great pictures! We have requested a patio or balcony but not a specific longhouse. They all look good to me!

Not only do I think about Disney all day, I dream about it at night!

I just got back from my 1st Poly stay, we loved it!:cloud9:

First a question-anyone ever have a problem with the shower heads? :confused3 It was like ours was attached to the wall incorrectly, LOL...We arent tall, we're both 5'7'' and we couldnt stand up straight underneath the shower head, because we would bang our heads...Weird...We were in Tokelau and we had friends that were in Tahiti and they had no issue, and she is 6'!
Other than that, I LOVED IT!!!!!! Probably wont get another chance to stay there, we're DVC and this was a surprise trip for me:goodvibes Too expensive to pay OOP to stay anywhere when we have DVC points all paid for.

Next an announcement:
During this trip, I got engaged:cloud9: Our 1st night of the trip he took me to dinner @ Bistro de Paris, afterwards Epcot wasnt very busy and we sat down on a bench in China, no one was around...Right as Illuminations (my fav thing ever in WDW) started, he proposed:love:
It was the vacation of a lifetime, the best ever!!!!

Remember how I said we'll probably never get another chance to stay there? Well, that may have been a fib:rotfl: We're hoping to get married there:lovestruc In that case, we would want to spend the wedding night there.

Congratulations on your engagement!!!!!!:cheer2: That would be a great honeymoon resort....we too notice that the showerheads are a bit low but still love the Poly...not too much there that I have issues with that would cause us to stay elsewhere!

Have a wonderful Weekend :wizard:

Great pics! Thanks for sharing...I have a few from what looks like the same spot!!!!

I thought I remembered reading somewhere that there are kid's activities in the afternoon at the Neverland Club. I'm not talking about DD going without me, but activities (maybe arts and crafts type things) that she could do while I'm with her. Now I can't find that info. I saw something on the first page of this thread talking about arts and crafts activities in the GCH from noon to 2 on certain days, but nothing about things happening in the Neverland Club.

Did I completely imagine that or am I just not looking in the right place for the info?

Pixie Dust on your engagement, Athenna!

Thank you Breezysmom for the pics. We are snowed in over 2 feet and I have been playing the Polynesian loop music most of the day. I cannot wait to return. I want my tonga toast.

From what we understand, parents are not allowed inside the play area of neverland club. They are just there as a drop off for kid care. Mostly for parents that would like a nice romantic dinner or uhhm alone time in room.

They do have activities at the pool on certain days! Mask making, WII, grass skirts, and pool games. There is a schedule in the GCH that will tell you what days and what they are doing.

Thank you! I love your pics! :lovestruc

It's very thoughtful of you to post them for us. :goodvibes

Thanks Breezysmom for posting the weekend pics! I've enjoyed coming on in the mornings and seeing this first thing! :goodvibes

I just booked dinner at Kona for our arrival night, and was wondering if anyone has tried the almond/coconut chicken? It sounds really good, but I wanted to make sure it was moist inside...I like my chicken crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside! :thumbsup2 Anything else you recommend for dinner?

I am also having Kona breakfast...trying to decide between the Tonga Toast and the Macadamia Nut Pancakes...thinking of getting the pancakes at Kona, and getting the TT at Capt Cooks. I am dying to try the Kona pressed coffee pot, but was wondering how strong it is? I am usually a Dunkins girl, and would like to try authentic coffee, but wondering if it might be too strong for my taste? I always need plenty of sugar and cream to truly enjoy my coffee...what dya think? Should I try it, or stick with the delicious juice?

BreezysMom -- thanks for posting more photos! It makes this thread wonderful!!!:goodvibes

Lissiesmum -- 2 more weeks!!!:banana::banana::banana:
