thanks mmmears and seaspray!

My questions keep coming as my trip quickly approaches...

Here's one more...if you are staying in Tahiti, I read on Tikiman's site that it is quickest to walk to the pool/boat dock area by traveling along the front of the building and across the beach instead of using the winding paths within the resort. Is there a walking path on the beach that leads from Tahiti to the volcano pool? If not, could you walk it with a stroller? This should be DDs last year in the stroller (I hope!), and wanted to see what our options were :goodvibes

Yes there is. The path will take you along the front of the Hawaii building (between the Hawaii building and the beach), and then the pool is just on the other side of that. :)

Thanks, Seaspray! It's so nice to see you back on this thread! (you too Johnsonet!) Glad you're planning another vacation :goodvibes

I love this Poly thread. There's always new friends joining in, and I love meeting up with old friends. I remember last year when mmmears, kaffinito, and myself were all gearing up for our April trip...this year I get to go first! :yay: ;)

WhooHoo!!! This post caught my attention...because earlier this evening, the boys and I changed our "counter" at home to read 23 days!!! That's 23 days before our first stay at the Poly, 3rd trip to WDW (including last year's Wish Trip) and 4th Disney trip (we went to DL in 2007).

We are very excited to be trying the Poly (other times at GF) and staying CL. It's GV, so I'm a little nervous. We've been spoiled with either TPV or marina view at the GF. I'm gonna miss that castle... In fact, I think I'll have our TA check again to see if TPV or LV is available, and cost and maybe...

If not, we'll be the ones in our jammies in the lounge, watching Wishes!

Just had a giggle, remembering our stay at CL at the Grand Californian at DL. Our twin boys (then age 9) had changed into some fairly manly PJ's to view the fireworks from the balcony (NOT the same as Wishes as from the GF or Cali Grill, but still nice). Every evening there was milk and cookies and storytelling in the lounge. At the end of our stay, the lounge was PACKED...and our favourite family was the friendly folks (I think 4 kids + parents) who ALL arrived in the lounge, ALL of them wearing MATCHING plaid PJs!!! My husband turned to me and said, "I love you for not making me do that...!" But I thought it was so cute!

Congrats on your upcoming trip! I have to wait until April to get to the Poly...

I have to admit that the castle view from the Poly is really nice, especially if you're used to having it from the GF.

We've stayed CL at the GF and had that great view, too.

And we've taken our DD in her jammies for the milk, cookies, and storytime up in the GCH, too! But she was the only one of us dressed for bed!;) It was really cute to see all the kids in their jammies there, though.

Either way, GV or LV/TPV, I think the Poly is a fun place to stay!:goodvibes I hope you all have a great time there.

I'll be surprised if you can't get an upgrade to TPV since Disney is offering the 40% through May. Do your dates fall within the correct time frame? I think for our room, it was only going to be a few hundred $$$ to move from GVCL to TPVCL. No matter what you do, you know it will be a blast!!! Wish my Poly trip were tomorrow! We can hardly wait. Hoping we will meet some DiSers on our visit.

As of yesterday, there was both LV and TPV available. Last year we stayed CL GV and when I booked my trip back in July, there was only GV available so I booked CR MK view. After my GV stay, I longed to see the castle/lagoon every day from our room so I waited patiently, and three weeks ago, every category was available for our week! Maybe if you switch, we'll be in the same longhouse :)

thanks, I found it and maybe I am just too simple for CL room, because IMHO no view or anything else for that matter is worth that kind of money!

I think the rate for the GV poly room is obnoxious, but I have always wanted to stay there and with the 40% code it is still pricey for me!

I guess I am cheap:lmao: but my DH did not think I was cheap when he saw the bottom line cost:laughing: I guess it is all in the perspective if you have the money I guess it is a bargain, if you don't it is obnoxious:rolleyes:

Good Morning :sunny:

Good for you! Glad you get to go first so you can "test it" out for us! :)

Trust me, I felt the same way about CL. I did try it out with DH over NYE though and ended up a CL convert. It really is worth the money although it doesn't seem that way when you're shelling out the money for it.

I thought the Poly GV with the 4/3 deal was too pricey, so I understand where you're coming from on the "obnoxious" pricing! :goodvibes

Gorgeous Pictures!

From you experienced people, which Longhouse is your favorite and least favorite? Are you able to catch the monorail from 2 locations? Is there any advantage to being close to the TIcket & Transportation? Is that where the shuttles to the other non monorail parks are located? There is so much to process for our first visit. Thanks!

Breezysmom: Thanks for the nice photos. I am envious of those who are getting to go to Poly so soon.

We are loving our stay here so far(minus our little one spiking a fever last night). We are enjoying our GV room in Fiji. It's perfect for us and the view of the water, beach and GF is wonderful for us. LOVE the quick trip to MK as well. That alone is worth the price of the poly when travelling with a stroller. Off to get ready for our 3rd day in MK. Hope the rain holds off.

That easy transportation is what made us lean to the Poly as well. Glad to hear it's worth it. Enjoy your day!

We woke up to 5 inches of glorious snow last night so I really needed these pics! Thank you. They are a slice of warmth and sunshine to my cold midwest morning!:):):)

We've enjoyed every longhouse we've stayed in (Raratonga, Niue, Tahiti, Rapa Nui and Hawaii). You catch the monorail from the 2d floor of the Great Ceremonial House (main lobby) and can take it to #1 Grand Floridian, #2 Magic Kingdom, #3 Contemporary Resort, #4 Ticket & Transportation Center and then back to the Poly.
Walk to TTC to catch the Epcot monorail, rather than taking resort monorail ALL the way around the loop to get on it. You can also take buses to the other parks from there :thumbsup2

The Polynesian is awesome :cool1:

What divine pics, Breezysmom! I can almost feel that w-a-r-m sand :cloud9:
