I am soo excited :goodvibes

We just booked our first stay at the Poly for 10/29-11/6!!! We always make a visit for drinks at the Poly but now we get to actually stay :cloud9:

We have a GV so I just need to figure out the best building to request. I will need to make my way through this thread - I can tell there is a lot of great info! The planning is almost as good as the trip!

Hi everyone,

My DH and I are currently booked at the 4 nights at the Poly GVCL for Memorial weekend to celebrate our 20th anniversary.

There is a good chance we will have to move the date to mid June or July. If we move to the value season of July instead of June we will save 200.00, but how miserable will we be with the heat. Will there be a big difference between June and July? What would you do?:confused3

We are planning to go to the MK one day and then DD another. The rest will be at the resort.

T minus 15 days till poly CL....

Whoo hoo!!!:woohoo:

now returning you to your regularly scheduled Poly FAQ:surfweb:

Hopefully you knocked back some 100% Kona coffee and macadamia nut pancakes for me. :goodvibes

Thanks, MsStinkerBelle. Unfortunately I had to cancel our reservation as we needed to get our son to a doctor.

It looks like this will be our first ever trip to WDW without breakfast at Kona Cafe/Coral Seas or whatever the name used to be.:sad2:

Happy planning all who have recently booked the Polynesian. Have fun planning!:surfweb:

I hope your son is doing better and it was nothing serious. . .:sad2:

We are so excited. We had existing ressies for Poly GVCL...when the new code came out for 40% off, I immediately called. So....I upgrade to LVCL and still saved $1100 on our trip. It makes staying CL that much better!!! Can't wait to drink coffee in the morning and look at the lake...so peaceful. Requested 3rd floor, hopefully we will get that. If not, no big deal.

Does the Poly have those fancy private cabanas like the GF and CR? I know they have those beach half-shell type things... but I thought maybe they put in some fancy ones too... does anyone know.

I can't remember seeing them in August-but I do remember seeing them in the past...

Best longhouses at the Poly?

I spent some time looking through the Tikiman website this morning and am leaning towards either Tahiti or Tokelau. We really want a balcony/patio and I noticed these buildings had them available on all levels. Has anyone here stayed in either of these longhouses? What was your experience like? Are there other longhouses you like better?

Thanks in advance for your opinions and advice!

Hey Poly peeps! It is absolutely freezing here in PA so I'm having warm Poly thoughts this morning. :goodvibes

From someone who has lived in Orlando a few years, the heat difference between June and July isn't all that much. The heat 'misery' is usually in late July - August. Personally I'd go during value season because, as a PP has pointed out, July 4th at WDW is crazy-packed. :scared1:

Congrats! LVCL (heck, even GVCL) is amazing! The Hawaii longhouse has the best view of the castle IMO. :thumbsup2 It is so peaceful to be able to look across the Seven Seas Lagoon from the comfort of your own room. I wish I could take advantage of the code but with DD10 in school it was 'no dice'.

Well, we get out of school on May21st and will be leaving May 21st!! Worked out well for us this year and hopefully can beat some of the Memorial Day crowds. Just made the cutoff for the 40% off deal.

I did the same thing for my first trip, and requested Tokelau. I've stayed in Tokelau twice now, and requested it again this trip. I like the location, seems to be in the center of it all. Very close to the Bus Stop, and a short walk to TTC, Volcano Pool, and Grand Ceremonial House. Beautiful view on either side. I can't really compare to other longhouses though because this is the only one I've been in! I don't think you can go wrong with any of them! Depends what is important to you. For me, it's the location.

We LOVED,LOVED,LOVED Tahiti! Many feel it is too far from GHC but it only took us 3-5 min to get to GCH and Luau and gave us a chance to stoll through the beautiful grounds and enjoy the resort.besides when we were at the resort we did not have any need to rush. The beach is soooo private. We watched wishes on the beach in a hammock with kids playing in the sand and we were ALONE! We rarely saw guests because many guests don't realize there is a private beach (No music though). we had hands down the best view of the MK,space mt, and CR from our 3rd floor balcony. We could hear the horns from the boats until closing as it reached the TTC. this reminded us of living on the ocean. It was barely noticable when doors closed but if you are a light sleeper it might bother you.you can also see the ttc from the balconies a plus if you like watching the monorail, a minus if you want just a completely enveloped Poly feel. The ttc was one of the bigest plusses to tahiti. Since the mornings we were rushing were the 4 days we were in Epcot and MK being steps from the TTC saved us a lot of stress with the kids. We are going back in May and Tahiti is going to be our request again.

Been lurking around here soaking in all the great info, time to say hello! We are in the initial planning stages of our first family trip to WDW in August. We have a blended family with 5 kids ranging in age from 23 to 2, and are so excited. Decided to stay at the Poly in 2 rooms, we need the 2 bathrooms & it gives the older kids their own space & privacy. I'll surely have questions in the months ahead!!! Thanks for all the great info!!!

P.S. Breezysmom...we have a Cav also! He's my little furbaby!!!
