So excited! I did the online check-in today. I had requested 3rd floor Fiji, overlooking marina. I can hardly wait to see what I get -that or some other lovely view. One cool thing about the Poly, from everything I read you really can't go wrong with a room view. :cool1::cool1::woohoo::woohoo:

I'm SO jealous. That's exactly where we stayed June 2008. I'm dying to go back, but unfortunately it won't happen until 2011.

Beautiful veiw! This is Water View correct?

I could have sworn that the Poly has bike rentals.... am I remembering correctly or have I lost my marbles?

The Poly does indeed have bike rentals (surrey bikes as well). :goodvibes I think you rent them at the same kiosk you rent the water mice.

Oooh, splain please! I haven't heard that one yet - I'm one of your neighbors to the west who visit you to take advantage of the no sales tax! ;)

Manchester, NH has gained the nickname ManchVegas, some say it's from the early nineties when Illegal video poker games were everywhere and people were getting payouts on machines that were suppose to be just for "fun"! HA!!

West of NH, you must be in VT??

Viva ManchVegas!

Soooo JEALOUS!!! Have fun! I hope it warms up for you!!

Has anyone done the campfire/movie recently? Is it still at 7:00 for the campfire and 8:00 for the movie, even during the winter months? How is the set-up? Thanks for any help!

Sara

When we were there in Dec, the campfire & dance party was 7:00 pm on Sun, Wed, Th, Fri & Sat. Marshmallow & s'more kits were available to purchase. Movies started at 8:00 those same nights. You'll be given a rec activity schedule at check-in which will list the schedule of movies shown. My husb and I were often out strolling on the path from the Poly to GF at night. Didn't attend the campfire, dance party or movies but kids seemed to be having fun. I almost went over and joined the dancing! :)

When my family and I stayed there in December 2007 we had a 3rd floor room which was #3510 and it came with a clear view of Cinderella's Castle. So I am going to assume that was one of their Club Level - Lagoon Views that was turned into a Club Level - Theme Park View, however that's just a guess.

Thank you for the info. We made our reservations before the whole hubbub about the views. We are Lagoon view and to be honest I don't want to pay extra for guarenteed view but I would be pretty ticked to get a tree right in my face. We are still going back and forth between LVCL and saving 600.00 for Garden view. I am just not sure if the view and offerings are worth an extra 125.00 a night..However if we got a killer view then it's totally worth it me.. :confused3

so excited, we are leaving tonight for the poly! this is my first stay there since i was about 10 years old (i'm 32 now). anyway, i just thought of one question- what's the best way to dhs from the poly? do i take a bus right at the poly or walk over to the ttc? i'm trying to get there for rope drop on saturday. thanks all!

Take the bus from the Poly.

Okay, I had received that new year long code and book WL concierge. But the more I thought about it, and the little closed in balconies on their club floor, the more I thought "I don't want to be in Florida in a room that dark". What did I really want? To feel like VACATION.

So, as of last night, we are booked in Poly Concierge/Club for 11 nights in October/Nov. (over Halloween, woohoo!) I am really happy about that! Of course, now I have to PAY for it, but it's much less than it would have been thanks to the code. :)

I have read good and bad about club lounge manners...I want to avoid any "feeding frenzies". If I were wanting to partake of the 5-7 offerings, would I be best to go around 5, or avoid when it first opens?

I admit, I get a little freaked out at the thoughts of people sneezing on something I may eat. :lmao:

OH, and since this is club level, if I wanted them to find something like a Disney stuffed cat to have in the room for my daughter, would they do something like that? (first time staying club here!)

Take the bus from the Poly to DHS. When you leave DHS though, there is a bus stop for the TTC, which I think is near the Poly's bus stop. If the TTC bus comes first, just jump on it and then walk over to the Poly.

Have a fun trip!

That is a GV. Can you believe it?

Thanks! I've been checking the extended forecast religiously. I'm really hoping I don't need to throw in extra jeans and fleeces because I planning on only using a carryon.

Great tip. I also had been wondering about which bus to take to DHS and AK.

Related question: How long does it take to get from Poly to DHS by bus? I want to be there for opening on Sunday 1/17 so I can do the TSMM Trot.

We are leaving on Saturday for my first stay at the Poly and I'm so excited! I've wanted to stay there since I was a little girl and finally get to go for my 30th birthday. This thread has been full of great information and I just wanted to say "Thank You" to all of you for all of the info and beautiful pictures!
