For the step stools I think all you have to do is call the front desk and housekeeping brings them.

I think they are really for little people vs. children, but if they have them available they give you one. We used one at the GF this past August.

If any one is at the poly now can you turn to channel 96 and see if the classic cartoons are being played?

We were at the GF this august and they weren't there, but others have said that they had them at their resort.

I know it is a silly thing to ask... but I certainly would appreciate it.

Speaking of appreciation... I send out a BIG THANKS to whomever is streaming video live from their porch!!! Hope to catch the fireworks tonight!!!

Woohoo! Thank you for the live feed, that was fun watching Wishes! Wish we could have it up all the time! :)

Hello - Subscribing for the last few days before we leave for WDW. Our first family trip to WDW. When I was a little girl and I passed that beautiful :lovestruc lush tropical place on the monorail, I promised myself I would stay there one day! Hopefully Saturday will be the day!!!!:cloud9:

Would anyone please be so kind as to let me know if there is bottled water at the club level lounge? Also, does the lounge have the Kona coffee or shall we prepare ourselves for jumping out of bed and running for the main lodge first thing? :rotfl:

Thanks for this awesome thread, that i have not read enouh of and will NOT get a chance to, since I have not even started packing! HAHA I still have to shop before i pack!

Happy Night!:hippie:

The lounge does have bottled water, but the bottles are large and glass. It is perfectly acceptable to request one for your room if you would like. There is no Kona coffee in the lounge, just the Nescrape ;) machine.

Have fun preparing for your visit! :thumbsup2

Hey, at least the Nescrapè in the lounge is the freeze-dried stuff instead of the syrup they use in the restaurants :lmao:

My DH and I made a decision last night that it will be the Poly for our family on our next trip to WDW!!! Yeah! We've never stayed there in more than a half a dozen trips to the world and we are beyond excited!!
Bad news, we won't be going until April 2011... gotta fatten up that bank acccount!
475 days to go!! Is it too early to start obsessively planning!?!?!

Not at all!!

I still remember planning our first trip. It was 16 months of planning...more time than my wedding :lmao: I loved every minute of it!!!

Happy planning :wizard:

Nevet too early to plan. I started planning our Dec 2010 trip in March of 2009.

Really? I was wondering why the lounge cofee was pretty 'palatable'. And that meaning I drank it without comparing it to motor oil. :lmao:

So glad you're back at 'work'. I was wondering about ya!

Hey everyone! We booked our flights this weekend, so we are finally able to fill out the form that goes to the Poly Concierge. Is that where I should make a room request? I do have 3rd floor room marked on the initial reservation, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to mark it again. If this is where it should go, do you know of any specific 3rd floor rooms that would have good views of the castle that I could request?

Thanks!!

It will not hurt to add that request to your form but it has always seemed to me that the assignor sees the original request. We've always requested first floor and always received it in Hawaii.

Hey, fellow Polynesian fans. :grouphug: We're supposed to have breakfast at Kona Cafe tomorrow. Is there anything I can check for anyone? :surfweb:

I am getting more excited about my trip in July. This weekend I booked our flights (and got a suprisingly good deal), started to really plan out what dining reservations I wil have to make and also made our room request for third floor Tokelau. Has anyone stayed at Tokelau before? and if so how was it?

Ok, so you all know my trip is not until April 2011 and several of you have assured me that it's not to early to start obsessively planning, so don't think I'm crazy!! :rotfl:
Anyway, DH and I spend some time going over the boards, tikiman pages and whatever else we could find to help us decide on a building/level room we would like to stay at the poly. I orginally had my heart set on a TPV, now I'm starting to have doubts. Is it really worth the extra $$$? Will we take advantage of the view as much as it's worth? Or can we get just a good a view of the castle and or wishes from the beaches around the resort? I'd love to hear any thoughts as we contemplate our decision. Also I should add, that my DS loves, loves, LOVES the monorail, so having a room with a view of the tracks would be so awesome for him, so we are considering that too... any thougths on areas where you get the best view of the monorail??

I appreciate any input!!

I can't comment on the best view of the monorail, but we had TPV for our stay last October and we loved it! Our kids are 7 & 4 and we loved how at the end of a long day we could watch the EWP and fireworks from our room, while the kids were already winding down and in their pj's. The EWP actually became a part of our 7 year old's routine. She'd get all excited when she heard the music starting. My DH also loved that he could sit on the balcony at the end of the day, relax and watch the fireworks from there. We were there for 8 nights and I think we were out maybe three nights and back at Poly five of the nights in time to enjoy the shows from our room, so we did take advantage of the view.

We were in Tuvalu, so we had "glimpses" of the monorail. You could see it heading towards the GF and, although it was off in the distance, you could see the monorail coming and going through the CR (although this would definitely not give your son a monorail view comparable to any of the longhouses that are right by the monorail tracks). Anyways, just putting in a plug for TPV - it was worth it for our family. :thumbsup2
