We have ressies in August for a gardenview room. The waiting stinks, I want to know NOW what building we will be placed in. What buildings can I rule out?

If you mean what building do you think you will get (or not get), no one knows. But just remember, with GV, if you are not happy just ask and you may be able to see a few other choices.

Agreed.
When we stayed in a garden view room we already knew what longhouse we preferred to stay in. When we were told where our room was, my mother asked if there were any other GV rooms available, and the lady gave us a list of them, we looked at a map, and found one that we were satisfied with.

Aloha everyone.

Just booked in late January and managed to get every ADR we wanted, including Ohana breakfast for my Stitch crazed 9 year old (I think she infected the four year old too)....

But no luck at all with Ohana for dinner -- what say you experts?
Is it hopeless or do I keep trying?
March 16 -23.... well, 22 -- leaving on the 23rd.

I say keep trying because you never know when a cancellation may pop up. :thumbsup2 If you can't get a reservation by the time you leave, keep calling even when you're there at the resort. :goodvibes

How would you compare YC and Poly? I'm toying with the idea of a split stay with BC, but I'm really thinking I'll save that for a future trip.

You already know that I love the Poly for it's overall atmosphere, the food, the coffee, the pools, the fact that just being there is enough of a vacation to make me happy even if a hurricane was to make us resort bound for a week. *God willing, that we will never get to test that statement. ;)

The YC was a joy to stay at also. The service was just awesome. The food was great. The pool at SAB was really neat, but it was too cold for us to use it the day that we had time to use it while it was open. The atmosphere was really nice, it felt bright and upbeat. Every CM was pleasant and smiling. We had the added pleasure of getting to see the resort decked out for the holidays. The lobby smelled of cider and cinnamon. The floral decorations were just so festive and the huge holiday YC resort themed train set up was really cool too. The busses ran frequently and were packed only when you would expect them to be. The resort does share bus service, so we felt lucky to be loading when we were. The walk to Epcot is very nice. We got some great PhotoPass photos at the marina one night. The boat ride to DHS was pleasant, well, it was not pleasant on the way back, but that was due to a jerk that just had to run his mouth at us as he exited, which is no fault of Disney's. Honestly, if there was monorail service to the YC, I would have a very hard time deciding between the YC and the Poly as to which was my absolute favorite.

Have a backup plan for your O'hana night just in case, but I have had some luck walking up to the podium outside O'hana and asking for a ressie. It's worked for us two out of two times. :goodvibes

We asked for ressies early on in the evening because I think a lot of people want to be in O'hana to watch Wishes from there or from the beach in front of the Poly.

I haven't had any luck at all calling or asking the Lobby Concierge desk for a ressie yet. :)

So here's my thinking about your longhouse. If you know which one it is and you don't like it, you will unhappy for your upcoming trip. However, if you get the news while you are in the happiest place of all it should be easier to accept. Remember, if you don't like your Longhouse you can asked to be moved the next day. I had that at WL. I couldn't see over the balcony lol it was all stone and I'm 5'2" so unless I stood up I saw stone. So the next day they moved us to a VWL view not really what I wanted either but in the end it was so peaceful it was wonderful.

The Summer Nightastic parade and fireworks are only supposed to be around from early June through August. No official dates have been issued yet. I am anxiously awaiting further details. popcorn::

This one of the reasons I wanted to go back down this summer - I want to see the Main St ELectrical Parade again!

DH went for it, just had to get a CL room and all is well. ;)

Sometimes your longhouse assignment can be a blessing in disguise. Last fall we had booked TPV and requested 3rd floor Tahiti. We were sooo disappointed when we checked in that we had been put in Tuvalu. The CM said there was nothing available in Tahiti. However, once we actually got to our room we realized that we loved the location. Unless you know for sure that you won't be happy with the assignment (eg. a room facing the parking lot or the monorail if you were hoping for a beautiful garden view) sometimes it works out just to go with it. You could be pleasantly surprised. :) But PolynesianLily & Dawgdad are right, if you don't like the room you can always be asked to be moved.

I am leaning towards requesting Tahiti TPV after seeing some great pics posted on this thread!

#1 - My only reservation is that is seems far from the GCH. How far is it really - will it be too far to grab some QS & take it back to our room?

#2 - If we were taking the monorail to MK, is the quicker ride from the GCH or from TTC?

#3 - And lastly, does the floor matter? Do you Tahiti lovers prefer patio - or 2nd/3rd floor balconies?

I think that is it for questions at the moment - i'm sure I will have a ton more as the trip gets closer!

I've stayed in Tahiti both of my Poly stays I have 2 kids and DW is in a WC we have never found the distance to GCH bad and the being close to TTC has an added perk, there is a coffee station there that serves real coffee (not Kona mind you) and pastries but its a nice treat to grab a cup as you get off the transportion and get a little something to bring back to your room.

As far as the Patio balcony thing I loved being on the first floor TPV, thought I was going to hate it but the fact that there is no path going in front of you you feel as if the that whole expanse of lawn is your own private viewing area.

WHAT?!!!! I didn't know this!! If someone had mentioned this LONG ago, it wouldn't have taken me so long to decide on which resort I wanted to stay in! :) Where is this exactly? Easy to find?

What the Flagnard?!!!

We have stayed in the Poly for years, every year, and have NEVER seen this. Are you sure this isn't some photoshop hoax? hehe

Since you all were kind enough to teach me how to creat a ticker, I thought I would ask one more how to question.

Can you tell me how to quote multiple posts in a response?

Thanks,
Pam

At the bottom of each post--next to the Quote button is a button that has "+ on it. Click on it and it'll turn red. Click on several and whe you're ready to post, click the post reply on the bottom left. All the posts you wanted to quote should be there! Hope that makes sense.:)

I know I've seen that. I'm sure it was even last July when we went to Epcot via monorail. Good coffee=happy me in the morning!
