Aloha! We are back

Hawaii was great. The trip home was ugly (broke plane, security check, security check, security check, security check..... did I forget to mention lost but quickly found the next day luggage oh yea and more security checks) Sure am glad to be home so I can get to planning the next trip to WDW and DISCON.

Now what have I missed?

Broke plane = nothing major.....The baggage guys ran their forklift into the cargo door and Hawaiian airlines prides itself on its safety record so we had to get a new plane which moved our departure back too late to make connections so we got a choice of staying one extra day in Honolulu or spending the night in Seattle....Which would you choose?


The lesson learned here though is we should have spent the night in Seattle. When you get bumped or fly standby you are automatically selected for the secondary security checks on each flight you take. Hence we went through 8 separate security checks before returning home today plus they opened my checked suitcase and inspected that. (there was a security tape over the opening to let me know they had been in it).

But visiting the islands was worth every bit. It was beautiful. The weather was cool but warm with drizzles everyday. We got to see some lava flow but mostly steam as it reached the water and the beach was fantastic. I would highly recommend the Hale Koa in Waikiki to everyone eligible (military run hotel).

Some day Kevin and I hope to make it to Hawaii together!! We found out after we met that about 5-6 years earlier we had been there the same year, the same month, at the same hotel!!
