We got in last night... Hit the park early and didn't notice. When we are back at the Poly later, I will take a better look and report back.

We just got back from our stay at the Poly and the great view of the GF is not spoiled at all by any walls. Enjoy!

Anyone ever take an umbrella to Disney ? I do have one of those lol.

All four of us use umbrellas at Disney. None of us can stand the ponchos. We always hated being too warm in them and we seemed to get just as soaked with them on and taking them off. We have Mickey Mouse umbrellas that tend to come out when the rain comes down just like the ponchos. :thumbsup2

There have been years where we still needed a rain jacket with the umbrella though--it got downright chilly on a couple of vacations due to hurricanes and tropical storms. :guilty:

I have pictures of walls from late July, just click my picasaweb signature! Unless they've changed, the walls begin after wedding pavillion and go past Grand Floridian Spa. I didn't notice them till on path going towards Grand Floridian. They did not obstruct my view of Grand Floridian. :cool1:

We recently stayed in the Tuvalu longhouse (room 3406-TPV) and I didn't think that the GF view was spoiled at all with the construction walls.

Next time we stay at the Poly we will request Tuvalu again for the following reasons...

You have great view of MK castle, space mountain, GF and Contemporary resorts, as well as nightly electric water parade which cues up right in front of Tuvalu, as well as Wishes fireworks where you can hear the music from your balcony;

There is only water in front of you;

There is a quiet beach right next to Tuvalu which gets very little use;

You can hear some of the Spirit of Aloha music from your balconey/patio; and

It is a short walk from Tuvalu to the GCM and Volcano pool around the marina.

I totally get it, it is definitely expensive to snow ski, unfortunately were addicted to it, just as much as WDW! :wizard: This year were skipping to go to Aulani, its just as expensive, I can't get away cheap on any vacay!:upsidedow Take care!

Love your Poly photos by the way!!! And we are headed to Aulani too next year - woot!!!! Our fall Poly trip will get us in the mood!

Oh wow check in online Friday wooohoooo:woohoo: !!!! I did try to pack today but did not get finished. I cannot find my rain jacket any where ! I searched for 2 hours upstairs and down. Anyone ever take an umbrella to Disney ? I do have one of those lol. I may have to buy one of those cheap ponchos from Walmart. I also got a bunch of my clothes out and was trying on clothes deciding which I liked the most and which were comfortable :rotfl:. I had clothes every where ! I have my liquids in a quart bag for the plane except my makeup and well Im half done packing I think:confused3

The dollar store near me has two ponchos for a buck. They are thin but I've used them before and they will last the trip. Then I toss 'em so they don't take up room on the way back - more room for souven'ears' :thumbsup2

Just had to pop in and tell everyone about my pixie dust :wizard:! I was just able to upgrade our room to club level for our Sept/Oct trip :dance3:

Little background - our family decided to try Poly CL last year for a treat, and of course, we all fell in love. My middle son keeps asking when we're going back. Meanwhile... my sister had decided to take her daughter for a long weekend at the end of September and asked if we'd like to tag along - I'm sure you all know my immediate answer to that :woohoo:. So, since I've taken my oldest on a "mom/son" trip a couple of year ago, we decided it was second DS's turn. Added to that, we'll be there to celebrate his 11th birthday!!

I had us booked in a GV room as soon as the AP discount came out, but have been checking daily for CL availablility and today was the day :yay: I'm just so excited - I really didn't think we were going to be able to get it. :banana:
Thanks for listening to my excited ramblings....

Awesome!! Ramble away...

Just wanted to pop in and say hi from the lounge in Hawaii... Flight delayed a bit due to the earthquake, but arrived safely and in time for wishes last night!!!

Glad to hear you got there safely - enjoy your trip!

Shhhhhhhhhhhh stop giving away all of the secrets! :goodvibes

We have stayed in Tuvalu TPV twice and agree it is a great location.

Dont mean to be stupid but was does TPV mean? I have been trying to figure it out. Hope everyone going this week stays safe and has a great time.

When we checked in with Barbie in Hawaii last night she said they were almost at 100% capacity. We are on the first floor and asked to switch to the third as we prefer balcony to the patio. She told us that tomorrow we can switch, and the day after (Thursday) many more rooms will open up! I guess crowd levels will be lower in the next few days if that is any indication!!

Did someone name the "Longhouse which shall be nameless"

4th time for me in Nov

Family dollar stores have $2.00 ponchos, black or clear. I've never seen an umbrella that I recall at WDW! I'm usually packed about a month out, then again I'm weird because, I buy all new clothes for everyone in family for trip, easy to pack when your not wearing the clothes. Everyone makes fun of me! Good luck with rest of packing...

Actually I went to Walmart and got a couple of those for a dollar today lol. I do buy new clothes too but not all of them. I did buy new socks, underware, PJ's, a few shorts and shirts :rotfl: But there are some clothes that are my favorites so I was checking out first to see what I liked and what was comfortable most that we had just bought this spring. The good thing about shopping for summer clothes right now is everything is on SALE !!! :banana: I usually pack months ahead of time too, I think because I love the excitement, but this year I have been really busy. Im usually not slacking like this :scared1: :laughing:.

Yeah we did get to hot last year when we wore them. Mostly I used mine to cover up on Splash Mountain:lmao:

We love Barbie!! She goes above and beyond to help. Can't wait to see her in November. Enjoy the balcony.

I had requested Tokelau building on ground floor about a month ago and I just had a feeling that I should call and double check that . The reason I thought I should double check was because when I added the request, I had gotten a lady that talked fast and when I said Tokelau it sounded like she said Tuvalu. Anyway I just called to double check and the building request was not on my reservation only ground floor. The lady said she put the Tokelau in 2 different places for me. So now Im glad I called to check and make sure it was on there. So it may be a good idea to call and double check if location means a lot to any of you ;)

Maryj11, Hi! :goodvibes We were also thinking about that building to request. I hope you get your request so you can tell me how it was. :thumbsup2 After going to the Tiki site, all of the longhouse views look so beautiful. Have a Magical trip!:goodvibes:)

Just got back 2 weeks ago and we too requested and stayed in Tokelau ground floor (after much questioning of the DisBoard and TikiMan). We loved it! I think you made an excellent choice and I'm glad you double checked! Have a great time! :goodvibes
