Great little report! We can't wait to be back. Did you rent a cabana while you were there? Were wristbands being handed out at the pool? Some day we will do CL!!!!

No cabana this time, we had too short of a trip to spend that much time by the pool. DH and DS mostly hung out by the quiet pool, and he didn't mention wristbands, but that doesn't mean they weren't doing them at the Volcano pool.

Hi All!!

I have not been on here much lately as I have been taking in all that summer has to offer. Now that DD is starting school on Thursday I will start having more time to compulsively plan our trip!!

I have been skimming through some of the reviews and it looks like everyone has had a great trip so far

I also of course had to see my ticker and do a little dance


Happy back to school to all those that have their kiddos heading back.

I am a slightly sad to have Breezy's break over. But I am sure I will get over it about an hour after I drop her off and realize I have the whole day child free!! No worries, I am already enrolled in the horrible mom club

So, I'm never really worried about taking the kids out of school (at least not yet) for WDW, but I found out one of the first grade teachers at DS's school is a WDW geek, too!! We hit BTS night tonight...and we got her!!! I said "Oh, good! So you won't be too upset that we're taking off the first three days of fall break week to go to Disney World?" Her response: "No...I'll be taking them off, too!! See you there!"

So ready to be on vaca!!! Just stopped in to share our little story and get a little fix.

Don't you love it?? DS's 4th grade teacher (starts tomorrow) is the same one he had for 2nd grade , and she's a Disney FREAK!!! Her whole room is decorated Disney. She has the cutest little table with staplers, paper clips, hole punch, etc, etc. - ALL Mickey Mouse!! When we started planning this group trip for next March, I was a little nervous about DS missing 5 days. As they get older, it gets harder. Once I found out who he had, though, worries went away!!! Helps too that our Elem. handbook specifically allows 5 days for a family vacation!! this is his last year of Elementary for him, so it may be our last school-year trip, at least where he'd miss 5 days.

The second night was completely on a whim, and they had plenty of availability. They have a pretty large capacity, so I think unless it is a holiday or something like that you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Love it!!! I've always had supportive teachers when it came to taking the kids out of school - and LOTS of other Disney fans that are teachers. Always makes it that much easier

Just got our last piece of Mickey Mail! We check in 4 weeks from today. Just 28 days until I meet my beloved rum soaked pineapple again!

we will be there the 17th to the 27th and I had a question on CS,i thought i read that Capt cooks(i think thats the name) is open 24 hrs?,if not what time do they open In the morining

So we have reanted a car for half of our trip(the last 5 days) other then MK and epcot would you drive to HS,AK and DTD?. We have never reanted a car In WDW and have never stay at Poly and was wondering if its worth driveing?. I should mention to that we park hop to,thanks

That's awesome that the teachers 'get it'!! We have our open house this Thursday and I'm going to let the teachers know we are pulling the kids out for 4 days and find out if we have to prepare for homework/other assignments ahead of time. I talked to a couple of the teachers about this at end of year last year since we were already booked (DS's teacher honeymooned at WDW) and they were all really great about it but just want to give their teachers a heads up since we are leaving so soon after school starts. I think DD's teacher (1st grade) will be totally fine and we won't have work to do but thinking DS (4th grade) will have assignments to complete ahead of time - I hope not, but we'll see.

Up until May I would've told you no.. just use the bus system. HOWEVER... I had a car the whole time in May while I was there and we drove to AK, DHS and DTD and it was the best thing we did! It saved us ALOT of time and was way more convenient! Yes... we park hopped too! We even drove to EPCOT our last day because when we were finished there we were heading home! as a matter of fact we are renting a car for our Nov/Dec trip for this very reason, and of course we are going to Discovery Cove!

So now they are saying Irene is headed my way to Charleston.. Trying not to worry.. We had bday plans for the weekend hoping we can keep them altho it seems petty in comparison right now.. Yall send some prayers and pixie dust our way.. Weather man said right now tracker is showing projection a bit further east making the target NC but I dont know..Looks like wishful thinking to me.. Oh pls pls let Irene go out into the ocean!!

Everything will work out, you can't control the weather, so try not to worry, just have fun no matter what happens. I will definitely pray!

Rainstorms here, earthquakes there (D.C.) and hurricane Irene in WDW....wonderful day. Our plans got cancelled here due to the severe thunderstorms...so now instead of Millenium Park for my bday, it's movie marathon....and a lot of fattening food. I think I may make a Banana Cabana soon and put in one of my glowing ice cubes!!!!

That's what we plan on doing (driving). This will be my 1st stay at Poly, but based on my visits at other resorts, it would be best to drive to these other locations. There is no telling how long the wait for the bus will be nor how crowded it will be.

Captain Cook's is open 24 hours but the grill closes at 11:00 p.m. It opens at 6:30am.

We had our car in self parking and didn't use it once while there, all WDW transportation.

Anybody feel the earthquake? I did slightly. DD in central Virginia felt it a lot stronger than here outside Pittsburgh. No damage or injuries, there, Thank God. Scary just the same.
