Thank you to all that sent me a PM. I am in need of 1 night Dec 6th (we added on a day :goodvibes ), but as of right now I can't get DVC. So I thought why not go back to my happy place. For 1 day the pool and construction with not bother us at all. I really hope that I can get a great deal like that in December. I just love the Poly no matter what. :goodvibes

I've read the past 15 pages but am still not getting a concrete answer. Will the beach be open for watching the electrical water pageant and wishes this weekend?

My family and I are going to be at the Poly the first week of August. We've booked a standard view room...any suggestions on what longhouse would be best to request?

We stayed in Fiji standard room facing the Marina it was really nice! Very close to GCH

Main pool and adjacent beach area will be CLOSED…Luau area cove beach and the beach between the hut construction and the fence area by the main pool you will be able to watch fireworks.
Yes you can walk to TTC on the new path.
Everyone will be using the other pool and I'm sure they will have activities and the new Kids club is open. Also you can use Blizzard Beach for free during your stay.
Stay healthy!

Thank you so much!! :goodvibes

My parents will be staying at the Poly in Mid-August and have paid for their stay already. If prices are dropping, is there any way they can take advantage of these rates?

Also, how is the "quiet pool" and getting around the resort/parking lot these days? I just want it to be enjoyable for my parents...

Thanks!

Half the resort (East side) is closed off. And the rooms in the buildings facing the main pool (Samoa and Nui) on the west are to become unavailable. That leaves only a few longhouses. Go to Tikimans site and see what works best for you. Depends what you want.

Be aware that they will be seeing a completely different resort, no main pool, closed off main beach, closed off entire east side of the resort, reduced monorail hours, no new Captain Cooks (temporary location) and a completely blocked off Main Lobby with no waterfall. If this is their first time at the Poly you might be advised to rebook them else where!
As for reduced prices. The Poly has not reduced their prices beyond their normal seasonal discount its still big bucks. But the un-nameable agency
has a $212 rate from August 17 to September 2nd. That includes tax and a free 'fun day' and a discount off tickets. A great deal…but only for those who don't care about all the construction especially the closing of the pool and beach.
If thats their time frame PM me for the contact, rebook at the $212 rate and then cancel their existing reservation which can be done with Disney Resorts up to 5 days before no problem…If they are there during that time frame it would be crazy to pay $400 plus at this time. Be aware that the rate is only for a standard room and not lagoon, park view or club level but since most of the resort facing those views are under construction and those views are taken out of innovatory you are better off with a garden/standard view anyway. Good luck with your decision.

I would love a pm with the name of the agent used to get 50% off of the poly, I've always wanted to stay there

I would also appreciate a PM with the name of the agency offering a 50% discount on the Polynesian.

Well, I've decided to start planning a trip to WDW in September or October, depending on when I get flyer miles in. I've always loved the Polynesian resort (stayed once, stopped by on my second trip to eat there), but I've been seeing all the construction talk.

My question is: all the construction talk seems to be centered around the July/August period right now. Any ideas what it should be like in the fall? Should I look towards the Beach Club or Grand Floridian instead? If it helps, I'm going alone, I plan to spend most of my time in the park proper, and the pool holds little interest for me-if I wanted to swim, I would stay home. :P

Only 27 Days away now! It feels like yesterday when I booked the trip 8 months out now we are under 4 weeks!! It's a shame about the construction but I can't wait to return to Poly CL, there's nothing quite like it! :)
