Wooo hooo. My Magic Bands have shipped and should be here by 10:30 this morning. Wish they were for the Poly but not this trip. We are still going to go over to the Poly for lunch at Kona and to look around. I want to see if they will show me a handicapped accessible room. With my back as bad as it is I may soon need one and I want to get pics and info for Tikiman. I am going to miss my beloved Poly this trip but at least we will be in Disney. I am already planning a trip for my son's 16th birthday so maybe we can do that one at the Poly.

Is there any real benefit to online check in? We are arriving in 13 days and am wondering if I should check in or not?? Any thoughts?

Niue or Fiji? Any comments or thoughts? Getting ready to request a longhouse got next week. I'm a little concerned that if we are sleeping late Niue will have people cutting thorough to Rorotonga. But also concerned w getting a Fiji room facing boats.

From what I understand and have heard about Fiji is that you don't hear the marina I know when I asked about a quiet longhouse away from the construction I was told Fiji. It has also be recommended to other families that have small kids who need naps. You very well might get the cross traffic in Nuie as I think it is the only way to get to raratonga using an elevator. Another good one wold be Areotoa. One side faces gardens and the monorail and the other faces the castle but there are some GV rooms on that side. Depending on how old your kids are they might like being able to watch the monorail glide by. I understand it is not noisy. Hope this helps

Thanks, it does. My husband says Fiji. My kids (14 and 11) say Niue. They want to be close to pool. But we loved bring close to beach in Tahiti so mb they can be swayed:) just worried about noisy people walking by room in the morning at Nieu.

Does anyone know how often it's possible to check in early at Polynesian?

We're doing a split stay, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Poly. And on the day of the switch, we are heading to an 8 a.m. breakfast reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table, in M.K. --- and we would love to be able to come back to the Poly to rest up, mid-day. Like, 1 pm or 2 pm.

Thanks!

You can check in as early as 6:30AM. You may not have a room ready though. Bell Services will hold your luggage if your room isn't ready. Then they will text you your room number when it is ready.

Depending on occupancy rate and if you don't care what room you get, you may be able to get one very early.

Well I'm sorry to say we just gave up our TPV CL room for a couple of rooms at WL. Turns out my BIL had always wanted to stay at the WL, and after having them visit for the weekend weekend with their 4 month old, we realized thinking we would all be happy in one room was a bit idealistic ;) We'll still keep our ADR though so we can visit the poly, and maybe we'll get a chance to stay there in the future. Thanks for all the tips and photos! Hope everyone had a great trip!

I stayed in Niue in September and had no issues with cross trtraffic what soever. There is no elevator in Niue so thebcross traffic happens in Rartonga, I was in room 1707 overlooking the quiet pool. Close to both pools and the GCH I say Niue for you!

Poly Vacation 9/14-9/21!!!!!

Just got home from our very first stay at the POLY. Our room was on the first floor of Tokelau. The construction fence was viewable from our patio but construction noise was never an issue. They were working though and If u concentrated hard enough you can hear it but I blocked it out with the great Hawaiian music. We were also able to hear all the wonderful stuff happening at the MK which was so great. I personally didn't like captain cooks.. Very hectic with people everywhere and I was surprised to see how small the volcano pool was. I was also very surprised to see non poly guests in pool and on grounds. All in all, it's a beautiful resort but next time I would spend the extra $ to stay club level. I look forward to see the renovations when they are done.

Checked in yesterday - did online check in requested Tuvalu because I had theme park view - didn't get it. Originally I was upset that I was put in Aotearoa but when I got to my room (3219) and looked at the view - awesome! Castle is dead center watched the water parade and Christmas party wishes from the balcony - couldn't have been better.

We are possible first timers for Poly. We usually stay at Cont but they don't have enough rooms in the garden view area for our whole family to stay together.
Will we like it?
Any tips for eating breakfast and getting to a park at rope drop or before?

Here's my 2 cents: One of the major reasons we love the Poly is the convenience and location to the MK . And as far as location and convenience goes, Niue is an extremely convenient location for a longhouse at the Poly, at least for what we want to be close to! It is very close to both the Volcano pool and quiet pool. And literally steps from the GCH and all of it's goodness: i.e. monorail, CC's, arcade, shops, etc. And for what it's worth we have never had any issue with excessive noise from the hallways or from people walking past the exterior of our room. The walkway is not very close to the patios really. One potential negative about Fiji, to me anyway, is that the marina is just not as attractive as it once was. The lagoon water is now an ugly green swampy color that is just not very attractive. I'm sure plenty of people dont mind but I can remember when the water in the SSL was crystal clear (dating myself). :sad1:

does anyone know if the laundry facility is still closed? Thanks for the info!:thumbsup2

Ok...who wants to help me pick a longhouse that I should request??

We are 2 adults and 2 young children (3 & 5) on our very first trip to Disney. We just have a standard room. We are going in February so I am doubtful we will even use the pool. I just want something semi quiet with a low chance of a parking lot view.

I was thinking we should request Niue?? Any others you would suggest??

Thanks!!!

and here I was thinking I was so clever, packing Tide pods for next week in case I had to do some laundry. Extra clothes into the car instead!! :lmao:

OK, leaving in 4 days. Need some help with these final questions...

Staying club level. Should I request 1st or 3rd floor? We have 2 kids - 3 and 6, and are renting a double stroller that we'll keep in the room. Would it be worth it to be on the 2nd floor if all three of our rooms (my brother's family and my parents) were on the same floor?

What kind of coffee/tea/hot drinks are currently in the lounge? And with the in-room coffeemaker? Wondering if I have to swing by Starbucks to pick up some VIA...

Thanks!

well, don't count on me, I just thought I remember hearing this....

Let's ask again for both of us... Anyone know about the laundry situation, is it open currently?

Thanks so much!:cheer2:
