In regards to the new path: it is a bit longer, but I doubt it will remain the new path in exactly the same configuration it is now. It's not that much longer of a walk, but it's definitely not very scenic, lol. I'm confident there will be a shorter access point when construction is done even if it's not exactly the same route as the old path.

Just curious if anyone has booked "magical" deal at poly club level. Was wondering how prices compare. We booked standard room, but am beginning to dream big....:rotfl::rotfl:

We priced it out but ended up booking for October directly through disney. You can only do garden view club level or at least that's all that's listed. We got a price per room of that I think worked out to be a little bit under 400 per night

I have a girls trip booked for GV CL under that deal with a rate of $392.62/nt (tax included). The discount is close to 45% off :).

I priced it and it was a little over $4700 for 9 nights which was cheaper than 8 regular stay nights at YC full price for the same week. I thought it more than fair, but decided to go for a standard room. Having done CL before, I found I do not spend enough time at the resort to really take advantage of it.

What is this deal you speak of?

It's what I have been cruising around the waters like an orca looking for...

Google agency exclusive magical deal and you'll see it. We booked labor day deal for next august

Thanks for responses everyone. Not sure we can swing CL. :sad1::sad2::sad1:

We booked the agency deal from the UK using the same travel agent in the US. The savings were way too good to pass up.

We're doing 9 nights at the Poly in a standard Garden View room (2 adults, 1 five year old and an 18 month old) and it's $2025. Which compared to over $4400 on the Disney US site and £3100 ($4700 roughly) on the Disney UK site.

We did get a quote for GV CL, which came to $3450 or so, but I couldn't justify the extra $1450 as we won't take that much advantage from it with the kids. We'll be too busy in the parks or at the pool. I also figured it would allow us to spend the money on something like a Wishes cruise (we did one last year and loved it) and some nice character and signature meals.

Never mind. Was looking for the agency deal but found it. We do stay GV CL but already get 40% off with the military discount. Awesome deal though! I'm so thankful for these discounts but they have spoiled us :) We couldn't stay at the Poly without them. I can remember when getting the AAA rate was a huge discount!

Enjoy it while it lasts…it is going the way of the fountain and sunset point.

Did I miss something? Is the west side now slated for a DVC phase 2 or something? I could see them doing this, if only to add 1-bedroom/2-bedroom options. Or might they be bringing back plans for a lazy river?

The original plans do indeed show phase 2 west side... It would make sense since the old longhouses are all studios and studios are not the big DVC sellers….
Time will tell.

I'm confused! What's left for the rest of us non-DVC'ers? :scared:

Maybe I should request the "west side" for our August '15 trip!

There's alot of theory about what Disney is going to do with the "deluxes" moving forward...

The answer may come in the next "development"... As the current rumor is large if not full conversion of the existing wilderness lodge...

If that happens... Then more conversions of old rooms that have priced themselves out of the reasonable range may be the way of the future.

UGH!!! So that prediction my DH just made tonight about all Deluxes eventually turning into DVC might not be so far fetched???

My pixie dust is getting replaced by construction debris...

At least certain Magic Kingdom resorts. . .and I agree. . .:furious:

That leaves the remaining longhouses for us non DVCs…Raratonga,Tuvalu,Fiji, Aoaratora, Hawaiii,Somoa, Nuie,Tonga…Its just that from the west side you will one day look at a 5 story DCV building snack dab on the last remaining open space from the TTC to the GF. And Hawaii already looks at 20 ugly pizza huts instead of the once beautiful sunset point and view north to the MK. Oh well.
Maybe it won't happen. It was in the original drawing design for Poly Dvc conversion. I think they should build another pool on the east side for the DVCers…maybe in front of Tahiti sort of in the middle of the bungalows. It think that was in the original plans too but they nixed it.
