We were so happy being there that we just laughed about it!!! I guess we must have been pretty tired to not hear people outside our window!!!

I totally understand small appetites being able to nibble in CL and get full! We snack so much during the day this could work for me and DD. DH on the other hand needs much more food!!!!

You tour like we do:). So much more relaxing than we used to commando tour!!!

You said it on the commando. We used to come home needing a vacation from our vacation. We don't do that anymore. Dh works hard and a lot of the time out in the heat. He needs a relaxing vacation when we take one. I want him to totally relax on this vacation and just forget about the outside world. I need a vacation too but I don't work outside the home and deal with that kind of stress day after day so dh needs this more. We wont be able to do this kind of vacation every time or even every year but we will go to Disney several times with our AP's and because of the ability to pay off AP's monthly we will be renewing them. We will just stay more reasonably. We are even booked for Christmas in Disney. This will not go over well with our extended family but oh well, our little family needs to be happy first and this will make us happy.

I could use some good Poly mojo guys, if anyone could keep their fingers crossed for me. I wasn't able to book my fall trip because of general life upheaval this fall, but the universe may be doing me a solid and things may be falling into place for me to whip up a WDW trip. All that is available is standard view, but heck, I'll take standard view at the Poly over the best room anywhere else. Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde *might* be coming back to WDW, please keep fingers and toes crossed for me!

Crossing everything I can for you! I am sorry things have been tough for you. Sounds like a Poly vacation is just what you need.

It's me...the author of the very cranky post this morning. Just to give you all an update..after a rather lengthy discussion with an extremely helpful CL CM this morning followed by another moderate setback this afternoon, Disney and the Poly have made things right for us. They did remove all charges for last night's stay so we are satisfied. We are now in a lovely room on the 3rd floor!

I appreciated Tikiman's earlier post about the benefits of checking in early. Had our plane not landed 2 hours late we would have checked in at 8:00 pm rather than 10:05 pm. I think that the after 10:00 situation had a considerable effect on our check-in experience.

I appreciate all of you lending a sympathetic ear to my rather rambling rant this morning. I'm glad it all turned out ok in the end!

Glad they made things right and that everything turned out ok in the end. I hope you have a great trip from here forward without any more problems :wizard:

There isn't any construction in Sept the pool rehab was pushed to Jan

Thanks for clarifying this because I thought the pool rehab was pushed back and I didn't think construction was going to start (if it did at all) until next year some time ;).

We stayed 4 days this past weekend Garden View CL for my daughters 5th birthday. We are an hour away and travel to Disney often. The service was less than spectacular. We requested 3rd or 1st floor via several Emails. Of course we got 2nd, they did move us. We were never given our leis, had no patio furniture, and the staff was just ambivalent. I finally vented and the Duty Manager spoke with me. Like TgrLvsPooh has stated in her Live Thread, by the way, I meant to say hi, but I did not see you later in our stay, the food line was crazy. People taking multiple and I mean multiple plates of food. One night a family in front of us had three plates of corn dogs, maybe 40 pieces, and left my daughters 8 pieces... I am also a pretty low key traveler, but the service was just not what it use to be. Food gone in an 45 minutes...come on. I will not stay Poly CL again. The view is great, but just not worth the money when you get mediocre service.

I'm sorry to hear this trip was less than spectacular. We love the Poly and are trying CL for the first time in December and up until now I've been reading some great reviews. I booked the other day under the new RO discount and have no plans of changing, but it is a little disappointing hearing things like what you and others have experienced :(.

I can not believe people are so inconsiderate to be taking multiple plates at a time not caring others are in line behind them. So sorry to hear these stories :sad2:

I agree. CL offerings aren't meant to be meal replacements, but some people make that their dinner :sad2:.

Hey all. I could use some good thoughts. Not sure if it is the lack of sleep and stress or what but I have been coughing and had a sore throat for a couple of days. I do not want to get sick in Disney. Been there done that and ended up in ICU almost on a vent for two weeks. I am being kind of proactive with this and started an antibiotic just in case and I have my inhalator. I just don't want to be sick for this trip.

Try to get plenty of rest.....hope you feel better soon.

Oh my! Our first night at Poly I couldn't wait to wake up and have coffee in my patio ..... But someone"stole " our chairs :). I walked around the pool abd beach looking for them, but nope....gone!! I did get them replaced but it took a concierge request and a phone call!!!

I think the CL food problem comes from people trying to make meals out of the appetizers instead of going to eat out??!! I can't imagine feeding my family this every night, but I did see some doing it at BC. But regardless of food being taken so fast, the CMs should quickly replenish it!!!

I'm sorry about the patio chairs. Glad they got replaced, but it's sad they were taken in the first place :sad2:. I agree.....I couldn't imagine eating the CL offerings every night for dinner, especially since that's not what the food is meant for.

Woooooo Hoooooooo!!!! I just saved myself $460.00!!!! We were just about to go pick up the rental vehicle when I looked at the back of my car again and told dh that I seriously thought my electric wheelchair would fit back there. He scoffed but said he would try it. I will be gosh darned but it fit!! We will have to be a little creative with our luggage but now we don't have to rent an SUV, we save the money, and I won't be afraid to drive should I have to. That $460.00 will more than pay for all the table service meals we have planned. I am a happy campy!! The other good thing is that I have a handicapped tag on my car so now we don't have to deal with remembering to put up the hang tag.pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Oh and thankfully I am feeling better. I think it is allergies. Thank you all soooooo much for your good thoughts and suggestions.

That's awesome :yay:......glad you thought to try fitting it in there. Have a great trip and a happy anniversary :goodvibes.

Great news Karriealex, I love it when I discover addition money for Disney. May your trip be filled with pixiedust.pixiedust:

Awww thank you. I love finding Disney money. Now we can do all the TS meals we had planned and even do one or two more without actually spending any more money!

Oooo I also saved money at the vet today too. We went to board our dog and cat and they had it down that we wanted the dog spayed while we were gone. I said nope that. I didn't want to be so far away when my puppy was having surgery. We will do it when we return. So with shots, exams, baths, and boarding it came out to 800.00 instead of the 1100.00 it was going to be. I did not realize however how hard it was going to be to leave my animals. I have never ever left my puppy and she is so super attached to us. We could hear my baby screeching all the way out in the lobby as we were settling up the bill. I walked out of there crying. Next time we board her at Disney.

Thankfully our dogs do fine at the vet when we board them but I always cry a little leaving them, too.

I am so glad. I was going to recommend that you try an immune booster with elderberry, too--I don't know if it's placebo effect or what, but I make my whole family take them for a month before vacation and while we're there, and despite young children touching EVERYTHING, we've always managed to stay well.

mirage0306 where would I get the immune booster. I would like to start our whole family on it. Wont work for the vacation but eldest goes back to college soon and youngest goes back to high school. Both are a hot bed for illnesses. I would rather like to avoid us all getting sick multiple times this year. Because of my asthma I tend to end up in the ER or the hospital when I get sick. I would also love to know where to get elderberry wine. I loved elderberries when I was a kid and I am dying to try the wine.

I would love live updates on the Poly......can't wait to read your reports :goodvibes.

Congrats on saving even more money :yay:. I totally understand about not wanting to leave your animals. We started boarding our puppy when he was about 9 months old (he's now almost 8 years old) and he loves going to the vet/boarder, but it tears me up. I make DH and my youngest DS take him and the cat and I say my goodbyes at home because that's hard enough and I know I would be more of a mess doing it there . The first 2 times we boarded them, I called every day from Disney to check on them :rolleyes1.....I'm sure the girls at the vet thought I was a looney toons, but I didn't care :rotfl::rotfl:. My DH thought I was nuts, but he understood.

After 2 1/2 hours of trying to get pas the busy signal, being on hold and then finally talking to a CM. We changed our reservation from AKL CL to Poly CL with a RO discount for 10-3 10-9 :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Now I see the Poly is almost full for our dates. The last time we stayed at the Poly was July 2010 and the resort had many rooms left at that time. I am a little nervous about how crowded the Poly will be during our stay. Has anyone been in the beginning of Oct with any advice on crowd levels?

Any construction going on at the Poly now or will there be any in Oct? I hear the Hawaii buildings are fully done and have the new fridges.

So excited to be back at the Poly :cool1:

For several months we have had a trip planned for next May, 4 nights at the Poly and then 5 nights at Beach Club. We were just waiting for the military discounts to be released. Booked last week and we were so excited until we heard about the pool renovation. The last several days we have been debating what to do. This morning we decided pool or no pool we are coming to the Poly!

Congrats on getting a room discount and switching to the Poly . As far as I know, the only thing currently going on at the Poly is room refurbs, with a scheduled completion of sometime in October :).

According to the marina who oversees the pool refurbishments the volcano pool refurbishment has been put off indefinitely. Also if the pool should be out of commission there will be a boat that will take you from the Poly to GF to use their pool.

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm not sure of the exact date in October, but if only one longhouse is still being redone, that would take a good amount of rooms out of commission, so the resort might not be as full as you're thinking it will be ;).

Whew.... We are going Oct 3-9th. That would be a relief.

thank you!
