Its getting closer! Trying to decide on whether to keep our Kona reservation on the first night or do Crystal Palace in MK...thoughts?

Cool Beans and Thanks for the info. Looks like I'm going to call and check the difference in my current res vs AP discount today.

Aww Shucks....looks like I'll have to listen to Disney hold music today, lol. JK- is it wrong that a few weeks back when they released free dining I called in and listened to the hold music for an hour while I cleaned my kitchen and picked up the house? :rotfl2: I'm pathetic... I know, lol.

Thanks again for all the help :goodvibes
No problem! It does get confusing. The policy used to be, you could purchase a physical AP anytime and the time did not start until you walked into the park for using your AP the first time.

Hmmm going to crystal palace means you will be using an admission ticket. If you are arriving late then may not be to your advantages. (but you are in MK :rolleyes1)

However kona is really yummy and it gives you a chance to build the excitement by watching the EWP and Wishes before you set foot in MK. Decisions decision :confused3

We have tried going somewhere fun and fancy for dinner on arrival night and we have always regretted it. Somehow, because of all the adrenaline of finally arriving, we don't realize how tired we are. And that is including all of our family, not just we the parents! By the time we get back to our room we are bushed.

So my advice is to stay at the resort, eat, and hang out. Then look forward to a big first day.

We usually get in around noonish. In the past we have done the pool thing at the resort and then headed to DTD for dinner with an early bedtime. I didn't want to waste a park admission to eat at a park, lol. This June, since we will be doing AP's and aren't concerned about the park admission I think we are going to head to MK for dinner. I think either way you will enjoy it so you can't go tooooo wrong, lol. :)

This is the first year we've decided to do AP's, because we have definite trips planned for this July and next April, both stays being 10 nights, so financially the AP's make sense. We are getting a great deal on them, but I am worried that the prices will go up soon, so I'm thinking I should go ahead and get them now. I think we will get those voucher thingies...so we wouldn't "activate" them until 7/15/12, right? So the clock starts ticking at that point, right? I just don't want to get them now, only to find out I won't be able to use them next April. But I also don't want to wait too long and miss out on the great deal. :confused3

According to the Tikiman website, all of the rooms had a soft rehab in 2010. So, the decor didn't change but the soft goods, carpets, bedding, curtains, etc were replaced. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

so do they look the same? when we stayed in Sept 2009 the bedding was all fairly new and the carpet too...so I am thinking that is prob the same rehab as all the pics I see are the same as our room was in 2009.

thanks

We just changed our June reservation from the Spring Discount to AP with dining and saved over $500.00 :dance3::banana:

I couldn't believe the CM I got she was so efficient the change was done is less than 5 minutes. It still amazes me how much of a difference there is from one CM to another

I did the same thing today!! I also had a great CM. It was a HE but he was great. We are also going back in November for 2 weeks. He even gave me a heads up when to look for the AP discounts for that time to be coming out. It was magical :goodvibes I even got to listen to "The Laughing Place" song while he put me on hold to email me my new conformation. :thumbsup2

That's great :thumbsup2

I love coming home from work and getting to listen to Disney songs while I'm saving money :woohoo:

It looks like we'll be there at the same time :goodvibes

Right. Decor did not change. :)

I just booked our first night dinner at Kona too. We will go to MK when we get there (around 12), and then stay till dinner time. I was going to book in MK, but wasn't thrilled about the choices and heard a lot of good things about Kona.

We purchased the online AP's. We are going to MK and getting our real AP's on arrival. Then I think we will step into MK.. Get a popcorn..:woohoo: Then go check in!! Lol :rotfl2: want to use our AP's as much as possible! Just to get our money's worth! :rolleyes1

Are you adding the TIW card too? We are getting in around 5pm the first day (April 21st), heading over to EP, upgrading our tickets (from a package) to APs at guest relations, getting a TIW card and using it for dinner/illuminations at the Rose & Crown! How's that for planning, now I hope our flight isn’t late…again… We will save roughly $375 with the TIW card on this trip alone, at least $100 in July and $300 next April! We don’t do the DP as the plan is too dessert heavy (we’d like to split an appetizer and dessert with our dinner and have a glass (or 2) of wine and don’t eat dessert at lunch!), but the TIW 20% off is well worth the card price and alcohol counts. It amounts to free tips at all of the TS venues and we have 2 TS events each day this trip.

Mike :wizard: DW princess: DS (4) pirate: DMIL princess:
First visit 1976, last visit WDW 2/2010 BC CL and DL GC 12/2010, future WDW 4/2012 POLY TPV; 7/2012 (off site meeting); 4/2013 Poly with cruise!

TIW is most definatley on our list of items! I know the add 18% gratuity to the bill when you use the TIW card so it would equal to 2% off bill but I usually tip more. Unless they "add tip" at that point.. That's wat they get! No more, no less! Had a bad experience with a TS resteraunt. She added tip and said rather rudely "YOU HAVE TO PAY THIS"! I usually tip more than the required.. That night I tipped NOTHING! We have the QS dining plan and going OOP for TS with the TIW card.

So, DH and I are on a mini vacation with DD to celebrate her first "spring break" (she is in Pre-K)

We are staying at a Crowne Plaza (not even a very nice one) and she was freaking out (excited) about the elevator, using a key card and just the room in general. You would think that we have never been anywhere...:lmao:...I think she is just getting to an age where she understands what a vacation really is.

We are heading to a Great Wolf Lodge for tonight so she will REALLY get a kick out of that.

Anyway, the entire time, DH and I are smiling from ear to ear because of the upcoming Disney trip. If she thinks this is nice, then the Poly will blow her mind. :thumbsup2

that is what time we will get to the Poly. SO, we planned to do the same...head to MK and then back to the resort at 7 for dinner (Kona) to get settled in and check out the Electrical Parade & fireworks.

I decided to skip Crystal Palace that night. DD (age 5) might be too tired to enjoy it and too cranky to spend time with Pooh and friends.

That is so cute!! I remember on our trip to WDW this past fall, my 4-year old was sooooooo excited with the signs on Disney property (ya know, the purple and black ones with the Mickey ears everywhere) it was adorable! We were like, just wait until he gets OUT of the car, lol! Such a fun age! Have a blast at GWL....we don't live near one but they look amazing!
