Question: Has anyone put a pina colava into their empty Lapu Lapu pineapple? Of course, this would mean consuming both beverages, but, hey, anything for science, right?I'd have to say I agree with you on this (she said as she ducked to avoid being pelted with hollowed out pineapples & sporks!). I'm a rum drinker by nature, but I found the pina colava went down much easier ... maybe a little too easy! I suspect they can come with invisibility cloaks too - the kind that sneak up on you because you've been downing something like koolaid!

I'll hold down the fort here in FFX County - we don't leave until 3 weeks from today. We arrived at the poly at about 11:30 this morning. Great flight, caught magic express and was at the resort within one hour of landing!
Luggage arrived within two hours.
We received all our room request. First floor and connecting rooms with a perfect view of the castle. In fact it's the same two rooms we had last year
So far the weather is not so great. Rain. But we are hoping it will let up shortly for dinner at Tonys tonight.
It's my granddaughters first trip and seeing her expression when she saw the castle from the room wad priceless
Any questions???
. Oh, and might I recommend the wonderful Chocolate Ice Cream Bomb for dessert this evening?

and I for one craved pineapple when pregnant. I will definitely try again this trip just to make sure, I was alittle under the weather when I first tried. But all is not lost, I like the tonga toast! See, so everything in POLY-World is now balanced once again.

and I will drink the pina coLava out of the pineapple! TIP IT!
(Make no mistake though, I'll still be getting my dole whip in three months!)Leaving for the Poly in 2 days!!!! So excited!!!!

Don't fret logpey. You're not alone. I tried Dole Whip with high expectations, but it was just sorta ok. Pineapple soft serve, but nothing out of this world. I think it's just a treat people associate with their happy place, so it makes it a little more special(Make no mistake though, I'll still be getting my dole whip in three months!)
This time around I'll also be trying the tonga toast! Can't wait!

You'd hate the way I make drinks at Trader Scott's Tiki Bar and Lounge, then, because in my drinks it's all about the flavors of the rum.![]()
You never know though! I try just about anything twice......

*grin* Glad I'm not the only one! I usually look at those tickers and think, "Oh, how cool would it be to be going in X days?!" Then I think of how unprepared I'd be and don't feel so green.![]()

We are doing the cruise when we leave and I don't pack lightly!
My TA said not to worry and to just let the folks at the magic express counter know we have 4 bags. Has anyone done that before and then seen your luggage??From Steve's place....
These will be for Polynesian guests only and can be reserved up to 180 days out by calling 407-WDW-PLAY.[/COLOR]
Good to hear the magic express was so speedy! We arrive tomorrow and can't wait! Did you tag all of your luggage with the tags they provided? They only sent us two and we are bringing 4 suitcases! We are doing the cruise when we leave and I don't pack lightly!

I know I am in the minority!
I am part of the club that does not really like Dole Whip and to top it off, have no desire to ever even look at Tonga Toast again![]()

Everyone heading off to the Poly, have a magical vacation![]()

I will make an effort to try one this trip so I can be totally certain.YES, please! I'm booked Poly CL/GV and I've been having some second thoughts. I've stayed at the Poly twice, but never CL. Poly CL gets mixed reviews, so I'd love to know how you (honestly) felt about the following:Just arrived home last night from a 7-night stay at the Poly CL, garden view. We drove, so I can't so much about ME other then the rest of the group used it. It rained every day we were there, and it wasn't the usual 3 pm shower lol. It was thunder, lightning, and downpour! Any other questions I can answer?

YES, please! I'm booked Poly CL/GV and I've been having some second thoughts. I've stayed at the Poly twice, but never CL. Poly CL gets mixed reviews, so I'd love to know how you (honestly) felt about the following:
How did you feel about your room's cleanliness and upkeep? I had no complaints about the room at all! It was clean when we checked in, the room was ready when we got there, and the cm's provided more then enough towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc. They usually came in the early afternoon to clean, then again around supper time or a little after for turn-down service.
Was the lounge neat and clean? Yes. They had cm's that were cleaning up after the few guests that couldn't manage to clean up after themselves. They vacuumed in the afternoon whenever there was noone there, and again at closing. They wiped the tables down frequently as well.
Were the food/drinks replenished? I think I was for appetizers 4 nights and never saw empty plates. I usually went early, rather then right before the time ended. The only time I saw them out of anything was our first night. We came in somewhere between 9:15 and 9:30 and they were out of punch. I asked a cm if they would refill it and she said there wasn't any more. She didn't speak English very well, so we could have misunderstood each other. Breakfast was replenished up until about 15 min. before closing, and the cm's would announce several times that time was up in xx minutes, to come get more if you wanted. I never saw the afternoon offerings run low. The cooler was accessible 24/7, with coke, diet coke, and sprite, and only ran low during the late evenings, after the lounge was closed. You could also use the coffee/tea machines.
What was your general impression of the other lounge guests? Were the lounge rules such as no bare feet, not sitting down in wet suits, etc... followed? I don't remember seeing any adults in the lounge that weren't fully dressed. Even the kids usually had cover-ups on. I did see some people in, I can't think of the name, maybe lounge pants? I call them pajama pants lol. Usually it was kids or young adults, like college age, and they had t-shirts on so they didn't look out of place. I know my kids ran in barefoot several times, but I didn't see any adults without something on their feet. I had to laugh one evening, when a group of Oriental guests brought in take-out. They pushed several tables together (they were the only guests in there at the time, it was between the afternoon and evening services), and had a great time. I thought it was funny because their food looked better then what the lounge offered. They were a little loud and only spoke their own language, but they didn't bother anyone and it looked like they planned to be there at a time the lounge wasn't serving anything.
Would you book CL there again and if you don't mind my asking, what other CLs have you visited? This is the only CL I've stayed at at Disney, it was our 3rd time. I would book it again. We don't use CL as a meal substitute, except for breakfast. My kids were rarely in there for evening appetizers, my mother and I were usually the only ones who were there in the evening. On the evenings I did eat in the lounge, I usually went for a flatbread pizza later on. I would book CL again just for the convenience of the breakfast items. There was something for everyone, and the early risers could eat and be on their way, while the later risers were still in bed. Also, half the group can eat while the other half dresses/showers, which really helps with tween/teen aged kids in the same room. It's also nice to be able to run down to the lounge for a soda when you're stuck in the room waiting for the lightning to quit lol. The convenience of having the lounge in the same building is wonderful. I know my kids drank enough "free" soda to fill a bathtub, and it was great to be able to send them for stuff alone. My kids are mostly older, I wouldn't send little kids alone.
Thanks so much![]()
I'm so sorry to hear you had a wet vacation. Those are never fun!!
